  1. Oh yeah there's some not so great salary management going on for sure. Walters carries his share of the blame for the state we are in at the moment. Dead weight and bad deals are crippling us (now and at least into next season). I'm assuming Bailey signed for a fair bit more than what we could have offered but we also let Janarion walk, only to see him sign a relatively small contract in Toronto. The fact that they couldn't find a way to squeeze him in was eye opening.
  2. Partially guaranteed. He got the maximum guarantee which is half of his final year salary.
  3. I don't think that's disrespect as much as it is a reality of being under a salary cap and that he was (unfortunately for him) behind some of the best receivers in the league. They were upfront with Bailey and told him he was worth more than what they could afford. Last year he chose to stay at below market value, this year he did not. The fact that the Bombers immediately reached out to his agent after his release, shows what they think of him. With Lawler and Schoen out, we should have the cap space to bring him back at a fair price.
  4. Money, plain and simple. He turned down much bigger offers to stay last year but it's not realistic to expect a guy to keep doing that so they knew he wouldn't be back this year. I'm sure that if they had been able to make the numbers work, he would not have left.
  5. I don't think I was too far off...
  6. I doubt it. Bombers have already been in contact with Bailey's agent, according to Jeff Hamilton. Sheed also re-signed with us while Lucky was in BC so while they are friends, it's not like they are a package deal.
  7. They did that in 2021 with Roosevelt & last year with Ambles. Ambles could have actually played last year with how beat up Schoen was but he didn't, Why they sign these guys if you have no intention of putting them on the field?
  8. Injury report says it's a shoulder issue and didn't practice at all. He's good when he's healthy but can't seem to stay off the IR.
  9. It also doesn't help that the moves they do make (like bringing in Grimes) are a bit head scratching. Time will tell if those moves were worthwhile or not but their track record with moves like this isn't great ((see Naaman Roosevelt).
  10. It's the inaction that gets me. We've suffered through worse teams so I'm not ready to throw in the towel but man is it frustrating watching them sit on their hands.
  11. Wade just needs to have a talk with them, Fat Tony style: "I'm afraid I must insist. You see, the fans, they have been most vocal on the subject of the cooked vets. "Where are the cuts?" "When are you going to replace them?" "Why are they still playing?" And so on."
  12. You know there is a terrible movie coming soon about this... If 2024 gave us Godzilla x Kong, maybe we see Cocaine Bear x Sharknado in 2025?
  13. I believe we still have the rights to Durant if this Collaros kid doesn't end up working out.
  14. He'll be using his own version of the torch, not the official one.
  15. Yeah I'm not too sure what the point of that signing is. We already have enough aging vets who aren't what they used to be.
  16. Bombers add Aaron (Grimy) Grymes to the PR. https://www.bluebombers.com/2024/07/23/blue-bombers-add-defensive-back-aaron-grymes-to-practice-roster/
  17. Patterson himself said there was nothing wrong with what Bighill did. He took responsibility for holding on to the ball too long.
  18. Bombers don't think it was a cheap shot. Patterson doesn't think it was a cheap shot. Refs didn't think it was a cheap shot. But go on about how it's fans making excuses.
  19. As sad as it is, if we had to dig up a fossil from our past QB's list, neither of those two would be at the bottom of the list.
  20. Harrison. Things might get a bit dicey but he'll come through in the end.
  21. Did Wade sell his soul for a couple cup wins and now we're paying the bill?
