Lose & Hydro is a much worse position than they already are. That's not good for an already troubled crown corp or the government responsible for it. You also say proceed without delay... good luck with that. It could get blocked by the courts while the case is pending or you could end up with groups physically blocking the project from happening (or at least causing delays).

The agreement that brought Manitoba into confederation was supposed to set aside 140 million acres of land (which included what's now Winnipeg) for the Metis people. That never happened hence the years of court fighting which the MMF ended up winning. That's led to years of trying to negotiate a settlement (good luck putting a dollar value on that land now!) that still hasn't been finished. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/politics/after-140-years-and-a-review-of-2000-volumes-of-documents-metis-win-land-claim/article9505274/

For which project? Pallister is tying it to the Minnesota transmission line specifically but the Hydro statement said the deal was for various projects (past & future). We're in the dark as to the number of projects and their location so it's impossible to say if it's a good or bad deal for either side.
-
According to the MMF & Hydro, it was "long-term, 50-year agreement designed to address their asserted Indigenous rights and claims related to impacts from various transmission projects — both past and future". The MMF said there was a 3-way agreement signed in 2014 that set out the process for dealing with this kind of thing & that's how they came to that $67 million total (or $1.34 million per year).

I should have read that tweet more carefully... The guy who tweeted that is a known troll & Jones hasn't even met with USADA yet. I was wondering why more people weren't talking about the suspension! lol That being said, that's in the ball park for what people are expecting USADA to hand out as punishment.

Pallister confirmed they were removing him as chair of Hydro but also added that they offered him another board instead (he declined to say which board) so they couldn't be too unhappy with his performance. Pallister is saying it's over the MMF money & Riley says it's several issues... will be interesting to hear from the other board members if/when they decide to comment. Based on the fact they all walked, I'm guessing we know who's side they believe.
-
You're right that none of us know the details but the board does & they thought it was a good enough deal to bring forward so that should say something. It'd be different if they were hold-overs from the NDP but these were all hand picked Pallister people. There's obviously more going on than just this though if everyone, save the government rep, walked out.

That was my 1st thought.... his book deal should be more than enough to cover the loss of his pension.

Bones get a 4 year ban from USADA.

Must be coming up on more bonuses being due...

Hadn't considered the next CBA, and it is usually the Canadian vets that benefit the most so that is a great point.

He had no issues signing a 2 year deal in Sask so I'm guess it might be more about who can give him the most upfront money. Teams can promise him the moon (Sask & Montreal, I'm looking at you) but if they can't or have no intention of delivering on those promises, what's the point?

the chair doesn't hit him, the bat does. http://www.prowrestlingsheet.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/03/Eddie-Bat.jpg

Rey was also scheduled for NJPW's upcoming U.S. show too.

I had Dern 29-28 but barely. 1st was very close but she was the one pushing the fight so I gave it to her... could have gone either way though. 2nd & 3rd rounds were pretty straight forward to score. Adelaide Byrd was the judge who had Yoder winning so that says a lot! Lol

Yep, those guys never celebrate after making a play ...

Toss up between Ngannou and Lewis. Ngannou is dangerous very early but that's it. His fight with Miocic showed, he has zero cardio & ground game. Lewis isnt a threat on the ground either but at least he's shown he can still finish someone beyond the 1st round.

Sounds like Henoc wants to be here...

The worst part for Jones is that the CSAC took it easy on him. They are gun shy from losing a legal challenge about lengthy suspensions (which is why the chose to revoke his license instead). They are letting USADA handle that part and they will probably hammer him pretty good.

We also have it... barely use it though. Hasn't been enough original content for our liking yet but that may change. Even the non-exclusive stuff was underwhelming. Like Netflix, Prime has a lot of content not available in Canada. We were recently in Mexico and I threw it on one day to see the difference and it was huge. I hope that kind of thing changes over time.

Not that he wouldnt have been signed anyway but it happened so quickly because he was previously given permission to talk to other teams.

Would be better if they had cropped out that disgusting green thing on the right... the arms alone would have sufficed.

Not something I ever expected to read but I like it!
