  1. What is O'Shea doing? What is Zach doing? What are the refs doing? I could go on...
  2. The league owes us an apology for how bad this has been. The bombers certainly haven't done themselves any favors but this is brutal.
  3. Didn't see anything he liked downfield but he liked the two Riders in front of Demski? Brutal.
  4. I didn't want to have to go this route but it's time my wife gets an Alexander jersey. Everytime she gets one, the player is finished shortly thereafter (Hefney, Randle, Leggett). Thanks for the memories BA, enjoy retirement!
  5. Air Canada doesn't but customs does so there's long lines at some airports. Friends of mine are/were supposed to fly back from Denver today with WestJet. So far they are good but said the airport is crazy due to the cancellations and customs backlog. I'm in IT but the impact on me has been almost nothing since my group mainly works with on-prem apps/devices. A couple issues with our rare cloud-based stuff but very minor impact overall.
  6. In a shockingly bold strategy, Ouellette is looking to take advantage of Biggie. https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/breakingnews/2024/07/18/sayles-not-so-sassy-these-days
  7. Even if you were, I've seen many "old & broken" guys have their way with younger guys in the ring and on the mats.
  8. I did notice he had Nebraska stuff on when he came back to the sidelines and no Rider gear so it would appear that he's in agreement! 😂
  9. Biggie & BA are still with the club so even if their roles changed, they'd still have the ability to teach these new guys, just not by example. It's got to happen eventually and for what those two guys are currently providing on the field, I'd just as rather have the new guys cutting their teeth out there and learning through playtime.
  10. And it's not like there aren't other vets around to help the new guys on the field or that the new guys (assumingly) are raw rookies either. Wilson & Kramdi are 7 & 5 year vets respectively and Tony Jones (if he is tabbed as Biggie's replacement) is now in his 3rd year and has a few starts under his belt with Edmonton so there's lots of experience overall there. Same with BA if they slid Holm over to safety & put Griffin in at HB - Griffin has a bit of experience with Calgary (4 starts & 13 games played) so he's not brand new either.
  11. Was he though? Prior to Lawson getting hurt, most reports still had Thomas listed as the starter. I imagine it would have been a 1a/1b scenario where they were splitting reps fairly evenly but I don't recall seeing anything that said Lawson was taking over this year.
  12. Simon yes but they are still paying Jones next season so I bet Buck stays put for at least another year. If Jackson manages to get a few wins, they could stick with him.
  13. The point is Bede is not the inconsistent, much traded kicker you are portraying him to be. He was the most accurate kicker in the league last season while doing all three jobs. I'm a fan of Castillo but would have zero problems with Bede, if for no other reason than we'd get similar production and we'd be able to ditch Sheahan.
  14. Nope. We could be using this time as a chance to groome someone to take over for 2 of those spots (I'll give them a pass on Jake just due to injuries on the DL). Even one out of the three would be progress but I haven't seen anything to indicate they're willing to do that.
  15. So facts don't matter I guess? Bede - 3 teams & traded once. Career extra point percentage: 92.5 (248 of 268). The most he missed in one season was 6 - in his rookie year. Castillo - 5 teams (included Winnipeg 3 times but does not include Ottawa where he signed twice but never played a game). Career extra point percentage: 91% (152 of 167). The most he missed in one season was 5 - last year for us. I think it's partly because even though they both came in to the league in 2015, Bede has kicked way more than Castillo so we've seen him miss much more (305 FG attempts vs 216 FG attempts & 268 converts attempted vs 167). For me at least, the misses stick in my head more because I expect the kicker to make it and when they don't, it's notable. The only time I really remember the ones they make is if it's a game-winner or a really long attempt.
  16. Is he really though? Would you say the same about Castillo? They came into the league the same year and they have a similar career average (83.5% for Bede & 86.6% for Castillo). Bede did have a terrible 2nd year (52.4%) which brings his career average down but overall I'd say he's been fairly consistent (maybe more so than Castillo). Look at their last 5 season averages and tell me who has been more consistent: Bede: 85.0% (Mtl), 88.6% (Mtl), 84.8 (Tor), 78.2 (Tor), 94.9 (Tor). Castillo: 85.3% (Ham), 91.1 (BC), 77.8 (Wpg), 84.1 (Edm), 90.2 (Wpg).
  17. In this game yes, which is why I said they are taking turns. Against us, Hollins was the one going over 200 yards while McInnis had a few missed opportunities (still got almost 100 yards though).
  18. Injuries & guys developing elsewhere does happen but we also have held on to numerous guys and let them come back from injury. Rene didn't get that chance for whatever reason.
