Surprisingly at least one of the groups bidding want to keep Dana as the figurehead. They are reportedly even willing to give him a percentage of the company rather than jus to have him as an employee.

Adams got hurt early in camp (maybe in rookie camp?) and was released. They kept him around until he was good to go again. I know they like his size (6'3, 205) but I don't recall if played in either game either.

Signed with them a few weeks after we released him. We let him go due to "off-field issues", iirc.

He did but he has since backed off those comments. Now he basically says a small rural hospital in either country could have had the issues he encountered and it's not necessarily a reflection of the Canadian health care system.

If anyone still had thoughts of Fedor finally signing with the UFC, his fight today against Fabio Maldonado should put those to rest. It will go down in the books as a win for him but it would have been a 1st round TKO loss had the fight been anywhere but Russia. Suspect reffing and judging.

The stadium itself isn't over 100 years old (it's still old at 80 though), it's just the location that has been used since 1910.

One huge potential factor in their willingness to sell is the plans to amend the Ali Act to cover MMA. It would force the UFC to change many of the ways they currently do business (and not in a good way for them). They have hired so high powered lobbyists to fight the proposed changes.

I would assume the Pride stuff would be included (at least in the one deal that was confirmed to be for 100% of the company). I don't think they would resurrect the Pride brand but who knows? There are Asian investors in both deals so that might be something that appeals to them. If not, maybe some cooperation between them & Rizin like Pride & the UFC did for a while?

I'm not surprised they cut him (although he played decent in the little time he got last year) but I am surprised they didn't "ask" him to retire again instead of being cut.
