Blue Bombers - 2025 Regular Season - Discussion Threadbigg jay replied to Atomic's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion I agree with that as well. I'd feel much more confident in this regime if they showed any kind of willingness to change/adapt but we haven't really seen that yet. Whether they stay or go, some things need to change.

Blue Bombers - 2025 Regular Season - Discussion Threadbigg jay replied to Atomic's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion This isn't new though. What many people have been complaining about (not going to rehash the same old arguments) has been happening for a couple seasons. This is just the first time the team hasn't been able to overcome the obvious problems and now more people have come around to the idea that maybe it's time for a change. These guys are Bomber legends and I don't think anyone will dispute that but all good things come to an end at some point.

Alexander expects to play the whole game. I guess they don't really need to worry about him getting hurt if we don't touch him. https://3downnation.com/2025/10/23/he-isnt-a-five-year-vet-montreal-alouettes-to-play-qb-davis-alexander-in-finale-regardless-of-playoff-implications/

Blue Bombers - 2025 Regular Season - Discussion Threadbigg jay replied to Atomic's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion That's a bit of a stretch. Hamilton at no point says they are interested in him - only that he (Hamilton) would want him, if he was running the show out there. His exact words:

So a couple feel good points but nothing substantial - got it. For you in BC, getting to Montreal or Hamilton might be more of an issue but not for people in Winnipeg. Besides, a handful of Bomber fans in attendance does what for the club? I can't see a huge turnout in any city with the way this team has played this season. Regina might be the only exception to that due to location though. MOS will tell you (as any HC would) that the team will always be playing to win, regardless of who is on the field so I don't think they earn any extra respect there. I'd respect him more for giving back-ups some playing time rather than risking injury to key players in a fairly meaningless game. For me, the upside to 4th is being as healthy as possible and facing either a QB getting his first taste of playoff action or a team we just thrashed a few weeks earlier. We may also get a slightly higher draft pick if nothing else (barring a miracle GC run).

Woods was a full participant today.

Blue Bombers - 2025 Regular Season - Discussion Threadbigg jay replied to Atomic's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion He was on pace for a career year but the last few weeks derailed that (0 yards against Ottawa in week 16 and then only 5 against Edmonton in week 19). Had he stayed healthy and put up some good numbers the last couple weeks (questionable with this offense) he might have been in the conversation but yeah not the MOP for me.

They are top secret! Wouldn't want this info getting out.

Blue Bombers - 2025 Regular Season - Discussion Threadbigg jay replied to Atomic's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion Serious reporting doesn't exactly go hand in hand with the CFL unfortunately.

If only we had a team capable of doing that.

What does 3rd place get you that 4th doesn't? You're still on the road for the playoffs so I see no downside to letting some back-ups get some playing time and letting some starters get some rest.

WPW always puts on a good show - haven't been to one at the Burt yet but last nights cards was pretty stacked for a local indie show (Mone, Shotzi Blackheart, The Good Brothers, Danhausen, Jodie Threat, Tommy Billington) without having to use "name" guys that are 20 years past their prime.

Blue Bombers - 2025 Regular Season - Discussion Threadbigg jay replied to Atomic's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion Also when they play at home, PAS has a sunken bowl design which (theoretically) should help mitigate wind conditions. I've often noticed the flags over the concourse blowing in the wind but the flags on the goal posts are hanging limp so it seems to work, at least to a certain extent.

@DTonOB mentioned that we lost out in any tie scenario that involved Calgary so 4 way or 3 way, it made no difference.
-
I'm torn on this. If they do go with scrubs again, it means most of their starters have sat for close to a month - do they want to roll into the playoffs cold? I expect them to play the A team (at least part of the game). BC may wait to see what Calgary does as well before determining their final roster as well. If Calgary loses to Edmonton, that gives the Lions 2nd place making their game against Sask meaningless.
-
It's both play calling & execution that they aren't happy with (at least for ZC - BO has to be pissed with the calls being made). The Free Press had a good piece on the game and when it came to the play calling, it's not a good look for Hogan. https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/breakingnews/2025/10/18/didnt-like-it-but-bombers-will-take-it

	Nice glasses though.

I was literally just saying this to my wife. If we manage to sneak past the semi's, it'll mask all the issues we've seen and we're in the same boat or worse next year.
-
Edmonton loses so the playoff teams are set. Only Sask knows when and where they play though.
-
Gittens got smoked on that one. 😬
-
If Davis is healthy for MTL, that argument can be made. They are a completely different team with him. BC has looked good lately but will that continue when they have to play outdoors in the cold? Their track record in those conditions is not great.

My exact feeling as I was leaving PAS. We are fighting to salvage our season and barely squeaked a win against a pre-season caliber team filled with 2nd and 3rd stringers. If they don't switch to Coan, I don't think we win. Montreal game might be similar - they don't have anything to play for and since we will likely play them the following week, i'd expect alot of vanilla play calling (from them... we can only wish ours was good enough to be called vanilla).
