According to Madani, Popp always says they won't keep a player or coach who isn't happy there so Bowman might not have to do anything. Popp has to decide if he wants to bring someone back who already quit on the team.

John Bowman has been pretty vocal about this so it'll be interesting to see how they play for him this year. Bowman pretty much called Thorpe over-rated, saying that he inherited an already good defense.

He might still get called back up quickly, he just won't play Friday. If they don't call him back up by Saturday, then he's with the Moose until the new year, at minimum, due to the roster freeze.

He also said Lowry won't play 3 games in 3 days so that rules him out for Friday.

The CFL is now investigating Thorpe's resignation. It'll be interesting to see where this goes. I think it's going to be a whole lot harder to grab coaches from other teams soon.

how about Kyle Walters just does what every other GM in the league can do and find some pass catchers on his own from the states? There's only about a million of them down there. If they are that easy to find EVERY NFL team would have "perfect" pass catchers. Most NFL worth their weight have at least one star receiver who can be dominate. The same goes for CFL teams. Arcenaux (spelling?) Walker, Rogers, Roosevelt (SSK? I think that's his name) TO has a plethora along with Ott/Ham. Maybe the only two teams that don't are Montreal and WPG. I would say SJ Green falls into the star receiver category.

Well that does it for me. I would expect that Leo is going to give up his private jets and his wild supermodel parties and live like a monk now, given what he saw happening in Calgary. I mean, warm winds are coming in and melting snow in the middle of winter. The world is definitely ending. Since it's the holiday season, I'm willing to help look after things while he makes that transition!

The problem with trying to go more "real" (at least in terms of in ring action) is that people know what real looks like, thanks to the UFC. When they try incorporating moves from mma, it looks terrible (Undertaker's gogoplata is a perfect example) and brings it back to the realm of being a parody.

Why wouldn't they sign a guy with NFL-caliber skills? Even if it's not our most pressing need, they should be trying to improve any chance they get.

lol why? Craig Smith is horrible. The only team that has brought in worse talent than us import wise over the past number of years. I've heard he's quite good on the Canadian side... perhaps my sources were incorrect... I forget where I read it... Maybe here?

If replacing his 2 points over the last 10 games is a problem, then the Jets are in trouble. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of Ehlers but he's being out produced by Thorburn right now. We're only talking a couple weeks (he'd miss 6-8 games) so I'd put Armia in for him. Injuries happen. I'd feel no different if he got injured in practice, an NHL game or at the WJC. You can't plan for something like that. Besides, I'd say, given his size, an injury is more likely to occur playing against grown men in the NHL than against a bunch of teenagers.

I'd let him go. His confidence seems to be down right now so why not let him go light it up at the WJC to build it back up?
