  1. He's from Toronto... Enough said.
  2. I'm with Rogers and as much as I dislike them, I can't complain about my service with them. I'm with them for a few reasons that probably don't apply to most people: 1) My corporate plan is much cheaper than anything out there (as far as similar plans go). To get a comparable plan with MTS, it means paying an extra 50% each month and getting less data/minutes/features. 2) I'm out of province a fair bit so I need coverage outside of Manitoba and that's where I've heard MTS suffers a little (no idea if that's actually true though). 3) If I was to go with MTS, I'd want to bundle all my services but they still do not offer TV service in my immediate area of the city because of the way they set up their system (I'm basically a couple streets "out of range").
  3. I don't want us to roll the Dyce on Bob. Yeah, I know.... Position coach, sure. OC no way. I'd love Dyce back here for Special Teams coach. But I wouldnt mind C.Dickenson or Kilam here too... whoever becomes available. Dickenson apparently will either follow Jones or hook up with his brother in Calgary. If he goes to Calgary, Penton says Kilam would likely wind up in BC or Toronto.
  4. Bilukidi is the better bet to be here next year. He's had a few workouts since getting cut but nobody has signed him. Mulumba is on the last year of his contract and wants to stay in Green Bay but he's been a healthy scratch quite a bit this season so I guess there's an outside chance for him too.
  5. The story from Craig Reynolds (a fairly reliable source) is he asked Huff if he was interested... Huff said no... end of conversation... there was never an "offer"... That still is tampering. But this is the CFL so it's pretty much a joke. Apparently it's not considered tampering in the CFL: http://www.tsn.ca/roughriders-never-made-offer-to-hufnagel-1.403336
  6. Keep spinning. You keep conveniently leaving stuff out. Trudeau did go not directly from a single small movie role to leader of the oppostion. If that makes him an actor, then his fight with Brazzeau must make him a boxer too right? I'm not saying that Trudeau has the resume that Harper does, but you keep making leaps from something in his past directly to where he now so it works both ways.
  7. Can you recall one that made the direct leap from teacher to PM?
  8. To be fair, the last guy went from university drop-out to PM so there's no set path to becoming head of state in Canada.
  9. Yep, same reason as why doesn't Edmonton can't keep him. Money isn't an issue for them, already having someone in the GM role is though.
  10. Did they actually plan to survive? I would think engaging the police in a shoot out and throwing bombs at them would be the acts of people pretty much expecting to be killed. There's a couple things that make me think they at least prepared for survival: 1) They left a huge cache of ammo & explosives at home... why not bring it unless you think you'll make it back home? 2) The bomb they left in the building had a remote detonator (which thankfully didn't work). That tells me they planned to be safely away from there when the bomb went off. It's possible that they didn't think the cops would track them down as fast as they did. The SUV was rented so maybe they thought that even if the guy had been ID'd, they'd be looking for his car, not a rental right away.
  11. Getting into possible spoiler territory (you have been warned!), there could very well be a couple "Glenn" scenarios. One of the things the show has always done when they kill off a major character is they make 100% sure you know the character is dead (Eddard, Joffrey, Robb etc)... they didn't do that with Jon or with Stannis last season so there is speculation that both return. Jon's "death" was the cliff hanger in the book as well so nobody is quite sure how that plays out but Stannis is very much alive at the end of the last book so that's why people are thinking Brienne might not have killed him (they show her swinging her sword but you never see his body).
  12. I'm still excited for the show but I'm probably more excited that the next book is almost ready. The flip side of that is that it means the anticipation for the "final" book starts, which is who knows how many years away. I say "final" book because Martin has admitted he might go past the planned 7th book.
  13. Madani wasn't necessarily wrong when he reported that. Wally's tweet says as of today, the bombers have permission. Doesn't mean that was the case a few days ago.
  14. Pretty sure that was the story right from get-go..... I know that was the rumor, just hadn't seen anyone actually confirm it until now.
  15. Lawless is tweeting that Cortez was not fired, he retired per Wally.
  16. Classic Cactus Jack promo! As much as he's known for his crazy bumps (and deservedly so), Foley had some fantastics promos.
  17. Contract is finished. Before grey cup, Lawless said it was a good bet that he was headed to Toronto.
  18. I watched the whole presentation, and was just behind a pile of Esks fans crowding the first few rows when a bunch of players brought the Cup over to the sidelines to give their fans a closer look. Thought it was very classy, and it was fun to see the Esks fans enjoying their win in a very respectful way. Yes, our futility is legendary and the 25 years since our last Cup is insane. (Technically Ottawa has the longest drought in seasons between all its franchises at 26: 20 with the Roughies, 4 with the Renegades, and now 2 with the Redblacks; Hamilton is also now at a not-wonderful 19 seasons.) But I still enjoyed seeing a team win their first Cup in a decade after having a fairly similar run of futility to us during that time (save for our 2007 season). Hopefully we can turn it around in a couple years and get our first legitimate chance at a Grey Cup victory since 2001 by, say, year 28 or 29? All that is to say that I tried to soak in as much of the Grey Cup as I could, and that included sticking around to see the winners celebrate their trophy. Same here. While It was mostly Edmonton fans left in the stadium, not everybody took off. I was happy for guys like Watson & Greaves, who were good players for us, and wanted to see them get their moment. It made getting out of the stadium much easier too!
  19. Yep, from where I was sitting it was at least 60/40 RB's, at least in the 1st half. There were a few "Hennnnnrrryyyy" chants that came out in my section as the game went a long and he started to disappear.
  20. It was an upset for sure but Wladimir is pushing 40 now, he looked every bit his age and had a horrible game plan. He isn't used to being the smaller guy and he had no answer to Fury's size... he still fought as though he was the bigger, taller fighter. It's been an impressive run (over 11 years since his last loss) & there's still lots of money out there for Wladimir since he's really the only heavyweight with any name recognition. The rematch will be the most watched heavyweight fight in years.
  21. Yep, the banned was lifted on the team but not the sawing. http://news.nationalpost.com/sports/cfl/ottawa-redblacks-denied-wood-cookie-td-celebration-as-logger-team-barred-from-performing-during-grey-cup
  22. Something must have changed again after that article was written because they were there. They were shown on the big screen & they were at field level behind the south endzone when Edmonton was killing the clock at the end of the 4th quarter.
  23. Only a couple in the NHL and one is debatable. vs Tom Sesito http://www.hockeyfights.com/fights/120922 vs Brian Mcgrattan http://www.hockeyfights.com/fights/121529 (not a great fight but Peluso does lose or maybe a draw at best).
