  1. Somebody better tell Obby to find a new line of work!
  2. I think I've seen a grand total of one funny tweet from him. I can't even remember if was really all that funny, it only stood out because of who it came from. I had to do a double take to make sure that it wasn't just a re-tweet.
  3. Eric Rogers might disagree with you. Desjardins is still the guy who didn't think the best receiver in the league was even worth bringing to training camp last year. Not saying he doesn't deserve credit for the season they've had, but it doesn't negate all the dumb s**t he's done.
  4. Honestly, I don't see how you can come to these black and white conclusions, unless you are privy to counter-terrorism intelligence that no one else here is. The truth is, no one knows what terrorist groups have infiltrated these camps, and radicalized the people living in them. But I agree that we can't allow this fear to stop Canada from letting in refugees, and I support these efforts. There is no way to ever know fully if the people we are allowing in will one day decide to strap on a vest and self-detonate, but such is the way it is. Bring on the refugees. Great point. This is why I feel like the refugee "threat" is being over blown & politicized somewhat because the terrorist threats are not limited to refugees. If the Paris & Ottawa incidents have shown anything, it's that immigrants and natural born citizens are being radicalized and are just as willing or likely to commit these crimes.
  5. They only signed him after the last regular season game when Matthews got hurt. It was done out of necessity, not strategy.
  6. He dressed for 2 games in 2013 and recorded 1 tackle on special teams.
  7. Kodi itself is legal, it's simply a media player. The 3rd party add-ons fall into the grey area. One of the biggest differences between this and torrents is that you aren't file sharing.
  8. I'm not a craft beer guy (tried it in my youngers days and was pretty turned off by what I had tasted) but this thread made me thirsty on a slow Friday afternoon. Got some ideas for what I want to try, just hope the LC has some in stock. Sticking mainly with IPA's this time but I'm going to grab a couple ESB's just to test the waters.
  9. Wheeler took a Buff shot off the head this morning.... If there's one guy you don't want to be hit by, it's him! http://www.tsn.ca/ice-chips-jets-wheeler-injured-at-practice-1.396945
  10. Torrents crossed with Netflix is one way you could describe it.
  11. It's a free program (it used to be called XBMC or X-Box Media Center). You can run it from a computer or off a box (think apple tv), all you need is an internet connection. You can watch whatever you want (TV show, movie, sporting event, you name it) by loading "add-ons" which are basically subprograms that someone has created. There are tons of add-ons, some are focused on certain things like only streaming movies or tv shows, while others do multiple things. They are pretty fast at uploading too, you can usually find a stream within minutes of a show ending. Some addons have live streaming but I find those tend to be hit & miss.
  12. When I went to pick up my GC tickets, the guy standing beside me was informed his tickets had been upgraded. I had a couple thoughts when that went down: A) What if he specifically chose those seats to be near friends (as we did when we picked ours)? He said he wasn't told about the upgrade prior so he was pretty surprised by it. B ) You think they'd be a little more discreet about basically rewarding people who bought the cheapest tickets they could get. Just to blurt it out in the middle of the Bomber store with a bunch of people waiting for their full priced tickets felt like a bit of a slap in the face. No extra bonus for us, even though we paid double the price.
  13. If they price the channels high enough individually, we'll end up paying more for less than what we have now. IIRC, they only have to offer these new deals, people can choose to stay with their existing packages if it's a better deal for them. Once they reveal the prices for the individual channels, people will have to do the math to see if there's any benefit for them in switching to the pick & pay system.
  14. So don't look for this guy then?
  15. Why are we adding to myers?Ya. Give up our only LHD prospect. Makes sense. I'd offer Myers or Buff plus B prospect ... if that's not enough... pass. We don't need Hamonic that bad. This is a good point. While the Jets would like to improve their D (what team wouldn't?), this fell into their laps & is an opportunity, not a necessity.
  16. LOL - yes of course it would add more weight, but I don't think you will see it. Thanks for the link. I'll report back to my "source" and see if they want to moderate what they're telling me. At the very least, I would expect Trudeau to be trying to control the message, as any leader would do, given the political implications of this hot potato. Especially after the Americans just vetoed Obama's Syrian plan. EDIT - I read the link, and this Liberal MP is extremely pro refugee. To clarify, my "source" was telling me that Trudeau has ordered all Liberal MP's to toe the line like this MP is doing, and to say nothing negative about the refugees, no matter what their personal beliefs. It just struck me as very Harperesque of him. Which is something this new guy wasn't going to do, according to people here. I always assumed that this was extremely naïve. All of the leaders do it. The media just made sure that everyone knew it when Harper did it. Toeing the party line and muzzling the MP's are two different things though (not saying either is right). If your "source" is correct, then yes the media should be reporting on it but I also doubt we'll hear much about it (although the Sun media group will have no reservations).
  17. Word from a Conservative connection here in West Kelowna is that Trudeau has put a strict gag order on his MP's to refrain from talking to the media about the Syrian refugee issue. If this is true (and I don't expect the "We Love Trudeau" media to report it), how is he doing anything differently than the last guy who was Prime Minister? Oh right, it's totally ok when Justin does it. Good LORD! When will this control freak stop! lol Don't let the truth stop a good pile on. PS nice edit to try to spin it as a joke. What part of "LOL" made you think I was serious? lol PS: Geeeeeeeee dont be needlessly obtuse. LOL EDIT: The only thing I added to my statement was "I kid I kid" as when I edited to add the next, essentially unrelated part, I figured someone here would get their liberal panties in a knot. House overwhelmingly approves bill to suspend program that allows Syrian and Iraqi refugees into U.S. Please, you've taken every chance you've gotten to take shots at Trudeau. When you get called on it, you say it was a joke or that it's fair since people did it to Harper.

  19. The gag order thing would hold more weight if it came from a Liberal source rather than a Conservative one. It literally took 2 seconds on Google to find a Liberal MP speaking to the "We Love Trudeau" media about this. http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/newfoundland-labrador/refugee-controversy-in-goose-bay-1.3322572
  20. I grew up an Oilers fans as I had a family connection to the team during the dynasty years (plus it's easy to like a winner!). I haven't given up on them even if they haven't always given me much reason to cheer lately... very much like the Bombers!
  21. I'd think Edmonton would be interested. They can afford to drop one of their younger skilled forwards (Eberle I'm looking at you), but what do the Islanders want? Apparently, this has been in the works since the summer, but the Islanders haven't had any offers worth pulling the trigger on yet.
  22. Bilukidi is my bet for that guy we need on the DL. He's had a few workouts since Baltimore cut him (he has or had one with Indy this week) but his time is pretty well done down there.
  23. Not sure if I'm a big fan of this (would rather get a Mass or Brady type of guy) but it's a step up from MB.
  24. That's a huge list! Other than Collaros, who isn't a free agent in Hamilton?
