Blue Bombers - 2025 Regular Season - Discussion Thread

I'm sure he will be but they only do one per year for the ROH (with the exception of 2016 when it was first created). He's already in the Bombers & CFL HOF so the ring is the only thing left for him. -
Correct but it's Access Credit Union after they merged a few years ago. Red Lobster & Olive Garden were part of the same strip mall but separate buildings (RL was at 803 Leila & OG was 787 Leila). You think incorrectly. The Olive Garden building is now a Salisbury House. It was also a Brannigans at one point too.

Blue Bombers - 2025 Regular Season - Discussion Thread

I'd even settle for 2 or 3 of them! -
I don't think anyone needs to be in the room for this question. It was in regards to football in general, not specifically the Bombers. People like Booch who have played/coached at fairly high levels are more than qualified to answer a question like that.

Love this one - Ty was my favorite as a kid. https://www.bluebombers.com/2025/07/09/he-had-so-much-joy-on-the-football-field-tyrone-jones-added-to-ring-of-honour -

And it's still relatively early in the season... what kind of condition will those guys be in down the stretch and into the playoffs?
-
I've heard him say that but I don't know if I buy it. Biggie's injury forced their hand at linebacker - even if they kept him, he's still out so a replacement was needed either way. There's always turn over in the secondary (Alford, Rose, Houston for example) so moving on from BA & Ford just seems like regular occurrence rather than a plan. And like I said, they already had internal replacements so it's pretty easy to do when you have 20 other guys to choose from. If there's a plan, why does it include leaving the DL so thin that we can barely spell off the few guys we do roster on gameday?
-
They didn't move on from Ford, he walked away. Biggie, I have no doubt, would still be here if he hadn't shredded his knee. He's still not healthy enough to play so that should have been a no brainer. I'll give you BA but let's not pretend they had some big wholesale change planned. Those 3 are also at positions where we have depth so we could roll with guys we already had - the D Line has needed help for a while but we haven't seen a whole lot of movement. It's also not just about moving on from older players, it's about how they are being used. Thomas has absolutely no business being a starter taking tons of reps but here we are. If he was being used sparingly as a backup, you'd see way less posts about him. As much as I love WJ, it's plain to see that he should not be on the field as much as he is.
-
I don't disagree that his approach isn't the same and I was never arguing that. I argued that he wasn't the cheapskate you made him out to be. He still spends money, it's just mostly internally as he seems to prefer re-signing existing guys over attracting new (potentially younger) talent. He definitely isn't as aggressive in FA as he used to be but the team also wasn't as good so he kinda had to be. If we maintain the status quo , we"ll be back in that situation.
-
Who is the last high end FA brought in (excluding bringing Lawler back from Edmonton). Willie? Bighill? That's not really Walter's style (occasionally wish it was though). Even the guys they do sign, don't always get a chance to see the field (White or Mitchell for example) so it's a bit of a waste.
-
I didn't see much that changed from his approach this off-season. He even stated that he's not changing just because we're hosting GC this year. Yeah he let Lawler walk (not the first time) and yeah guys like Dobson (not the first OL to leave) & Ford (also not the first DB to leave) took off but that's the same approach he's always taken - it's not new to this past off-season yet history shows he spends to or past the cap. We won't know about this year until the spring.
-
Janarion doing his thing again.
-
Nope. Walters has exceeded the cap 2 of the last three seasons so he spends just as much, if not more, than most teams. How and where he chooses to spend, seems to be the bigger issue.

Just take the ball at the 40. Vaval has absolutely nothing.

FWIW, 3DN says it will be updated daily.
-
What's crazier is that he was looking for way more.

Money doesn't appear to be a motivating factor for him. He could have made more elsewhere but he said all he needed was a fair deal from the Elks and it didn't really matter what other teams were offering.

There are much busier and more dangerous intersections - should we block those off to pedestrians? People can get hit on any street if they and/or the drivers aren't being careful, Portage and Main is no exception and shouldn't be treated like one.
-
So where did he go off to? It certainly wasn't to the game...
-
Thanks, thought I had gone with the Riders. 🤮

I'd also like to change my pick from Sask to BC.
