I don't recall Flair ever working Liger. Liger came to WCW in late 1991 and worked a program with Pillman. The Great Muta is the only Japanese wrestler I can recall from the late 80's that Flair really feuded with. Stampede was one of the few companies (at least that I had access to seeing) that I remember bringing those types of guys in in the early 80's. ECW did a good job with them in the early 90's and that really helped them get a regular spot in the US.

Past presidents/CEO's may have been involved but who knows? I don't recall them doing this kind of "inside" coverage a few years ago. You've seen it before because that style has been around for a long time. That must mean Rey is a rip-off of Jushin Liger or Ultimo Dragon then because those guys (amongst many others) were doing that well before Rey was.

Yep, people have said this is one of the deeper drafts over the last decade so a high pick last year might not have been so high this year. I'm good with what we walked away with, all things considered.

Sounds like it worked out for both teams. More so for us though because we didn't have to give anything up for guys we ended up getting anyway. I figure we offered up one of our 2 picks plus #19 (I get that feeling because Walters mentioned giving up that pick) so we would have lost out on Loffler if my guess is correct.
