Who said anything about retirement?  Teams release aging vets all the time.  Hitchcock and Morrale where released from Hamilton once upon a time, due to age.

If it happens all the time, why are you using an example from 2007?  Not saying it doesn't as it's part of the game - just a strange example especially given that both those guys chose to be released:

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced on Tuesday that after discussing all options with the players involved, Canadian linebacker Rob Hitchcock and Canadian wide receiver Mike Morreale have chosen to be released by the team.

We have offered both Mike and Rob an opportunity to remain with our organization and they have indicated that they would like some time to reflect on the offer.”

Aren't they only on the hook if and or until they find new work? Did they not both get new gigs after that?

Cui says they are still on the books.

"Because if you remember in 2021 when we made these massive changes in the organization, we’re still carrying that severance for multiple years"

    Hey wait a second.... 😉😋

In all seriousness, while his shtick got old, I hope NN is healthy and doing well wherever he's at.

I actually read an article about him recently.  He recently moved to a seniors place in the Village and has started poetry reading nights for the residents so seems like he's doing well.

Don't forget Mathias Goossen... he was also a critical part of the OL turn around

Yep, he absolutely was.  I was just looking at the pieces we picked up in 2015/2016 to really turn things around and adding the guys who would be our OL for years to come.  Neufeld was the only other piece here at that time but he was spending more time on the IR then on the field at that point.

When Goossen got here in 2014, our OL was not exactly filled with future HOF candidates... it's no wonder our QB's took a beating back then!

The in stadium camera had this chap on the scoreboard video feed at least 4 times during the game on Friday. I’m guessing he is employed by the Bombers. He was entertaining. Reminded my of the ‘80’s when B.C. had “Crazy George” as the enthusiastic zealous fan.

He was hired for the game but is not an employee of the team.  His name is Cameron Hughes and his job is to pump up crowds at sporting events.

That’s true but the ol turn around was not quick here even with Bryant.

I don't think it was that long... Wasn't over the course of one off-season but it wasn't like 3-4 years either.

His 1st season with us (2015) was our last losing season but in year two, the pieces to rebuild the OL were in place (Stan, Yoshi, Neufeld, Couture, Chungh).

Depth is what probably took the longest to build (and keeping Neufeld healthy).
