That's his statement. 3D article says they couldn't agree on a restructured contract so he bailed. So he was under contract already and either asked for more or they asked him to take a pay cut going into a season where he was expected to play. I'm guessing it was the former and not the latter. https://3downnation.com/2024/05/16/one-last-look-back-every-cfl-player-who-retired-since-last-season/

Didn't he try to strong-arm the team for more money? I don't the club wanting to bring him back after that.
-
I thought it improved tremendously once I muted it. 😂

Yeah not a test of how well our offense does as a team but (expectations are very low) but the receivers and QB's are going to be tested individually to see who's going to step up and grab a spot on the team. QB3 and Bailey's replacement need to be determined (if the coaches haven't already decided) so that's what I'm looking for.
-
Not just a heavier workload but the Stamps are bringing most of their projected starters on offense so he (and the rest of the rookies on D) will be up against legit players and not a bunch of TCF.

2023/2024 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season News

They said they took inspiration for colours from the province so I assume the black represents the pit of despair that is Saskatchewan. -
This is where more in-depth camp coverage would come in handy. I'd be more enthusiastic about seeing some of these guys if I knew more about them or thought there was a chance they're part of the clubs future. As it sits, I don't expect the vast majority of these guys to be here next week,

Half? It's way more than that - we only have 3 (presumed) starters in Lofton, Fox & Ford playing (4 with Dobson but he's playing center instead of his usual guard position). I really want to see football but I need to hide this line-up from my wife or find someone else to go with - she will not want to sit through this. 😂
-
No Patrick Rogers again - maybe this guy really doesn't exist? And looking at that O-Line, I would not want Zach back there for any amount of time. Wilson & Grainger are probably going to have a good chance to show their durability!

Collaros also did not play at all in the 2022 pre-season so this isn't the first time they've done this. https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/breakingnews/2023/05/30/collaros-to-sit-out-preseason-tilt-vs-riders

Last year against Edmonton, he played the entire first quarter and then the first 5 minutes of the second. He was the busiest QB with 8 attempts while the other 3 QB's had a combined total of 12.
-
5 bees says he winds up on the 6 game IR at least once this season.
-
He was mentioned as having taken first team reps the other day as the 5th receiver, Most likely not be here next week if the pattern holds up.
-
Ford had one tackel & returned one punt in the 1st game (12 yards) so he is an actual person, Coleman has been interviewed a couple times a few weeks back but can't find anything about how he's doing at camp. Patrick Rogers may or may not exist...
-
TBF, he didn't really fumble the pass, it was in his skates and he had a guy right on top of him - he wasn't going to be able to do anything with the puck. It was a bad pass from Zibanejad, who has taken responsibility for it, that put him in a no win situation, The hook I didn't mind as it prevented a quality scoring chance in OT. He either gives that up and potentially lets the game end or he hopes the PK unit can keep them in it. That being said, if you thought it was deja-vu, I'm sure Maurice did as well and was chuckling about how he was glad he was on the other end of it this time! 😂

Yep. Not a Stove-type situation with recurring Achilles tears but out for the season again none the less. https://3downnation.com/2024/05/29/calgary-stampeders-rule-malik-henry-out-for-season-with-knee-injury/

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers today announce the following transactions: Released from roster: American receiver Peter Afful American receiver Tyler Adams American receiver Jaylen Hall American offensive lineman Khalil Keith https://www.bluebombers.com/2024/05/28/blue-bombers-transactions-may-28/

That's a big loss for them. Coming back from an Achilles tear to have it (assumingly) happen again does not bode well for him. The league needs all the star players it can get and he was seemingly on that path after his rookie year.

Good to know it's open I was wondering about this place the other day, I will definitely be trying it out soon!

Not surprised he got something... pretty flagrant but certain angles also make it look like a bit of a dive from Rodrigues. If he would have made more contact or actually injured Rodrigues, I'd bet it'd be more than just a fine.

I'm also not sold on Stanback being able to bounce back to his previous form, especially on that team. -
Does he know which paper he bought? I would not describe the Sun as a trusted source for news...

As long as it's not green!

2023/2024 CFL (Non Bombers) Off Season News

It actually makes sense this year (assuming they still want a Canadian starter there) - they've lost a couple on the Canadians on the DL (Kongbo, Laurent) from last year so Menard can help fill that hole. Just looking at their stats last year & it would seem that having a fresh DL didn't do too much for them. They certainly didn't run roughshod over they league as they finished near the bottom in sacks with 41 (the L's & Riders tied for last at 40). and 6th in average rushing yards allowed at 112 yards (ahead of the L's, Riders & Stamps). Their terrible QB play did lead their to be on the field the most in the league (33 minutes a game) but that was only 10 seconds more than the Bombers at 32 min & 50 seconds. We had better results despite our lack of depth along the line (50 sacks & 90.2 yards rushing allowed per game).
