  1. Is it accepted though? Jones keeps signing receivers to that number (first Lawler and then Lewis) but no other GM has gone there. Lawler is making $250K but after that nobody was close to that mark (Tim White had the highest max at 220k). Maybe it's different this year but Jones "reset" in 2022 did not make 2023 salaries follow suit.
  2. No, those are must have players! https://leaderpost.com/sports/football/cfl/saskatchewan-roughriders/darrell-davis-saskatchewan-roughriders-have-re-signed-all-their-must-have-free-agents
  3. I hope it's a retirement gift. He can collect his money, spend the entire season on the IR and it won't count against the cap.
  4. Yup, only one Canadian. We need more local stars I guess.
  5. Sounds like he was advocating against climate change, not for it.
  6. Not sure if this belongs in this thread or the MMA thread. https://www.cbc.ca/amp/1.7099104 BC junior player chokes out the opposing goalie with a guillotine choke. Would not be surprised if charges are laid over that one.
  7. CFL transactions page shows him being removed and re-added to the Lions roster today.
  8. Take out the podcast part and you've described most of this board. 😂
  9. 3DN reported that Yoshi is looking for a significant increase over the 166k he made last year. With Richmond waiting patiently for his shot, it makes sense that we may move on.
  10. Depends on his role I guess. Does a team want to pay north of 170k for a back-up? Kolo making 140k as a starter will not help him any, it sets a low bar for teams to use as a comparable. There are teams (western teams in Green in particular) that like to do dumb things so they could certainly give him a bad contract.
  11. They need a new image for Return of Strevy Day. Might need to make that one a bit bigger though.
  12. Bladek was also a healthy scratch for the last two-thirds of the season so I don't think 200k is realistic again this year for someone who wasn't even good enough to dress as a back-up.
  13. Wade couldn't make the announcement until he made sure he was able to get his hands on enough fur coats to start selling them at the Bomber Store. 😂
  14. FWIW, Kenny Lawler ran a 4.64 at the NFL combine. Hasn't seemed to hamper his ability as a receiver.
  15. Bombers have signed this guy, according to the CFL transactions page: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keytaon_Thompson
  16. Agreed, He was also touted as the most pro-ready DL available and that's a big reason we took him. Didn't seem like that to me so I'm not sure how much room there is to grow for him.
  17. They already had their MLB replacement, just needed a new deal. He's not a Canadian though so they may have to shuffle things around for the ratio. https://3downnation.com/2024/01/29/man-in-the-middle-toronto-argonauts-re-sign-lb-jonathan-jones/
  18. The Superbowl started in 1966 but theNFL started in 1920 so there's a lot of history that pre-dates the Superbowl.
  19. https://www.espn.com/wwe/story/_/id/39396125/vince-mcmahon-resigns-following-allegations-sexual-misconduct
  20. Some around here would say they overpaid him anyway so this is just a correction.
  21. Yup, Stefansson spent over $100k on a recruitment trip to the Philippines that landed a whopping 23 new employees. Dropping a few bucks on Forbes to make GOM seem like a good place to work, would be nothing.
  22. You should look back even further than because while they have won 15 straight, they had been heating up prior to that. They won 8 straight starting towards the end of November, including one against the Jets and one against Carolina, so they have beaten some of the teams you have mentioned. They've also lost to some of those teams like Florida.
