I wonder if the league would be better off having the first cut after a week of practices.

These guys have either had a week when you include rookie camp or they were here last year.  If other guys have already shown better than them, no point keeping them around. There's also the possibility that some of these are due to injury and they are told not to leave town.

Jared Beeksma - been kicking around the league since 2022 and hasn't stuck yet. Was with Sask & Hamilton (twice) before we brought him in last July.

Ravi Alston - on our PR last fall.

Ronnie Brown - had rookie camp & first few days of main camp.

John Waggoner - had rookie camp & first few days of main camp.

Raleigh Texada - on our PR last fall.

CJ Siegel  - had rookie camp & first few days of main camp.

Went from a S9 to a Pixel 3 to an S21 and back to a Pixel. I honestly couldn't tell you any difference between them. The key here is **** all Apple products always.

Yeah I recently got forced into using my first iPhone at work and it has re-confirmed that I will never willingly chose to use one.

Love my Pixel... Can't remember which number, but I think it's the 8.

Had the Pixel 6 and was really disappointed with it.  Was happy to trade it in for my Samsung S23.  Don't know that I'll ever go back to a Google phone.

I don’t even see a problem with wavering if more information becomes available.
For example, early 2022, I still thought we for sure needed an American running back. Brady’s play totally took a 180 and I was glad to change my opinion.
Something like: Having no interior DL who could push the pocket and 2 gassed out DEs cost us the last 2 Grey cups. That’s a hill I’ll die on.

Yeah, opinions & views changing with discussion or more information is fine.   Time will usually tell if those opinions are correct (like Brady proved to you).

Only really an issue if people are wavering & flip flopping in their opinions from one comment to the next.

I think it's dumb when people get fined for criticizing the league.

If I'm in Barker's position and I took a bad fine in the past, I'd take this opportunity to fight for free speech. When they fined him, I'm sure he was against it, but now he's suddenly on the league's side and these women should be fined? Noooope.

Barker was sued in the past by a female atheletic therapist so he might just be bitter about his experience in a similar situation.  It's laughable that he trotted out the fact that the Argos apparently did their own investigation and found nothing wrong. The leaked report showed differently - Barker has zero credibility on this issue.

Doesn’t even make sense. We have 9 potential Canadian starters already.

I think (hope?) that's just Hamilton talking out of his ass (which is normally reserved for a couple other local reporters).  Thomas showed last year that he has slowed down a lot and Schmekel showed absolutely nothing.

I can't see anyway they are going to use those guys in rotation with Lawson for two spots when they are barely good enough to back him up for one spot.

I compared the training camp roster handout vs the roster on the Bombers' website and 4 players are missing on the handout. There is no mention anywhere they are no longer on the team:

    WR 72 Braxton Burmeister

    DT 92 Kenneth Randall

    DB 13 James Campbell

    DB 46 Montrae Braswell

(there is a 13 on defence but its Bill Hackett)

Also did anyone know that Winnipeg Rifles runningback Kaiden Banfield is participating in camp? He's number 30.

Tait mentioned that Randall hasn't practiced due to injury.  Nothing about the others afaik.

  8. I wonder if some people are still going to cling to the he said/she said bullshit...

Among the evidence supporting the finding of sexual harassment are copies of text messages from Kelly to the former coach in September of 2023, including one in which Kelly invites her to his hotel room in Hamilton, one in which Kelly asks her over to his place, and another in which she tells another Argos employee of the persistent invitations from Kelly.

Having said that...I saw one person wonder if it takes place during Fellowship when Aragorn was tracking down Gollum to see if rumors were true that he had the One Ring.

Unless they completely ignore canon timelines, it has to be then since it's the events at the start of Fellowship (Bilbo's birthday party) that kick off Gandalf's suspicions about the ring - Gollum wasn't a concern prior to that.

It's not clear in the movie, but there's a 17 year gap between that event (in year 3001 of the third age) and when Gandalf returns (in 3018) to have Frodo confirm it's the One Ring by throwing it into the fire.  Frodo leaves the Shire in September of 3018.

I have a hard time believing the lawyers would want this kind of attention put on a case that has already had a large amount of public condemnation. There was no good coming from Kelly being around the organization in a public manner.

I'm sure the lawyers weren't thrilled with Pinball's media scrum yesterday either.  He was asked what he would do differently if he could and he said he would have asked a lot more questions earlier on when they were made aware.  So, to me, that sounds like they knew but didn't take it seriously enough. They blew if off & now they have a lawsuit on their hands.

yup...even so as per the CFL's allowances...they should not have him anywhere near cap and the facilities during the suspension.....at the very least in the publics view...epic fail there on the Argo's.....saying they ant to be/do better, and look at the organization as a whole and be better...as per Pinball....then allow that....a good start would be to remove him from the scene for now....him being there does what??

Definite fail.  The Argo's also have a very loose definition of what participating means too. The video of him, running and throwing looks pretty participatory to me - allowing him to be at the facility is one thing but I don't think he should be on the field.

I thought about that. Maybe the Bombers just wanted to move on from Grant.

With there being no limits to this promo money they could have easely found extra money for him.

Did the Bombers actually lose any players that they wanted to re-sign?

They knew they had to start turning over some of the roster. Need to develop the next group of starters.

I assume they still have a budget they want to work within so it's not just a matter of being able to take advantage of the promo money loophole.

We have the highest paid QB & RB as well as the 2nd, 3rd & 4th highest paid receivers with multiple guys already getting promo money so they are using it, just not on a returner.

Cut him some slack, he just lost his franchise MOP QB. He's an Argo fanatic and is clearly in denial. He is extending way too much benefit of the doubt to a player known to have big behavioral problems, but he is also viewing it through the lens of a fan. He will come around once the shock and awe wears off and he realizes this was a fair and just punishment. The CFL could not let it's reigning MOP act like a total creep and embarrass the league with a weak response to it.

Nah, he's been trying to turn this on the woman from day one.  Has nothing to with Kelly being suspended so I'm not inclined to cut him some slack.  Had he taken more of a wait and see attitude, I might buy the "in shock" excuse but he's been this way since the allegations first came out.

I mean you're not wrong... their official name is le Club de hockey Canadien so in their case they would be CH due to the language.

I see it as at least a possibility that the league just gave out a suspension 225% longer than any it has ever given as a CYA.

The longest suspension they ever gave to my knowledge is 4 games. And those are for violent offences which we can all see and replay in slow mo. Some of them would put you in jail for 10 years.

In the Kelly matter, we have a he-said she-said. He is a man who has made ludicrously bad choices in the past and seems to still not get the gravity of what it is to be the face of a team and the league. She is an employee who wanted her contract renewed (weird, if you were an SA victim) but because she didn't get the enhanced skills and qualifications which her employer told her to pursue in her exit interview last season, she wasn't brought back and soon after filed a suit.

This is what we know. Whatever you think of my character notwithstanding, these seem to be the incontrovertible facts that we have available and we may never get the rest of it after the settlement and the NDA is signed.

Both sides (at least according to her lawsuit and the Argos statement of defense), say at least some of the incidents happened in front of others.  If the investigation got confirmation of what happened (one way or the other), it's no longer a he said/she said situation.
