  1. Those two did not practice the week of GC but like Booch said there were a few guys who were not healthy and it hurt us having them out there.
  2. Healthy according to who? There were guys deemed healthy enough to play last year and clearly weren't. It could be a comparable situation but we wouldn't know until we see them on the field.
  3. Hopefully written under the name "Johnny Calhoun".
  4. Maybe he needs a blog?
  5. Not sure if this is real life or an episode of Shoresy. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/newfoundland-labrador/justin-pender-hockey-fight-video-nl-1.7372805
  6. TBF, that's from Marshall Ferguson who, based on his mock drafts and previous predictions, would rank lower than Turd Ferguson as a reliable source.
  7. Campbell is still under contract for next year with BC so unless the Lions make a big change (Campbell is also co-GM), that's unlikely to happen.
  8. Are you seriously comparing Strevy's development to a guy with 3 times the experience/play time? Fajardo was already in the CFL before Strevy even made the switch to full-time QB in college so yeah he should be ahead of him in progression. Fajardo: 45 games in college & 124 games (73 as a starter) in the CFL. Strevy: 23 games (as a QB) in college & 54 games (12 as a starter) in the CFL & NFL.

  10. He's also co-GM so he gets some blame for the cap hell they've got themselves into. Went all in to get a home Grey Cup but ended up with a .500 record and a loss in the semis.
  11. I just assume they're preparing themselves for next week when they're salty after we end their season.
  12. VAJ has a guarantee for the 2026 season so cutting him would be costly. Trade is the only way out of the hole they put themselves in.
  13. Didn't look like Hatcher was waving in the trainer's as much as he was just twitching after taking a big hit. Right call to pull him.
  14. Plus Mace actually got them to win a game after Labour Day - that's worthy of a statue in Regina.
  15. Yep, before they vote, the media should go back and read some of the stuff from mid-August. It was the same story the whole season and when you look at how many passes he threw (at least 120 pass attempts more than any other QB), it's not a surprise he put up big numbers this year. https://3downnation.com/2024/08/14/opinion-hamilton-tiger-cats-made-right-choice-benching-bo-levi-mitchell-for-taylor-powell/
  16. Just updated by the Bombers... thought there'd be more sold TBH. The said there was about 3k left a few days ago so that's not far from where they are at now.
  17. My picks (with admittedly Blue tinted glasses on) and why: MOP - Brady. For all the BLM talk, we shouldn't forget that he/the team was so bad in August that he lost his job as the starter. If Powell doesn't almost immediately get 6 gamed, we're not even having this discussion. Kudos for him on a bounce back season that I didn't think he was capable of anymore but there were negatives too. MODP - Beverette. Not buying into the Milligan hype. MOC - Brady. Good year for IAB but he's surrounded by a great defense. Brady is the premiere Canadian in the league and to do what he did, given the struggles our o-line had most of this year, it's very impressive MOOL - Hunter. F the Riders, that's why. 😂 MOSTP - Whyte. Could be a toss up. Tempted to go with Janarion but I feel like he cooled off after a very hot start to the season. The flipside for me is that Whyte, while impressive at 94.3% gets the benefit of kicking in a dome for half the year. I'd like to see what his numbers at home are vs his numbers when playing away. MOR - Bridges. Impressive rookie season that could have been even better if he didn't miss the last few games. COTY - Maas. The Al's ended last season hot & kept it going this season. Had 1st place locked up by a country mile. Not giving Mace the award just because the Riders finally managed to win a game after Labour Day.
  18. Luckily for the Riders, they got him to redo his contract in January so he's already under contract for 2025. I don't buy into the MOP hype but he had a good season and definitely could have cashed in as a FA this off-season.

  20. Is it actually a rule though? From their own press release in August, the CFL says the CC can overturn a call that was clearly and obviously wrong. I thought this one was pretty clear that it was an interception and a quick review would have shown that. I think part of the problem (at least this season) is they decided mid-season to change how the CC is supposed to work. To me, that should have been an off-season decision so they could have given the officials/coaches time to adjust and all get on the same page. https://press.cfl.ca/command-centre-operations-refocus-on-clear-and-obvious-principle
  21. On slow motion replay it looked like maybe the ball was sliding down his chest a tiny bit (very iffy at best) but that's about it. No way the refs on the field could see that in real time. The CC should have stepped in.
  22. He was on the PR but he signed a futures contract for next season so no FA for him.
  23. Plus the Riders have some guy named Milligan - I heard a bit of media chatter about him and he's apparently quite the player & is going to win every CFL award. But really though, this is my thinking as well. The Lions have not shown that they can play well at this time of year when playing outdoors so until they do, I'm hesitant to pick them to win. And if I'm wrong, it means the Riders lost so I'm good either way.
  24. I had the same thought. Killing the clock was the right call but had they not taken the timeout and allowed so much time to pass, they would have been able to get the punt off before the wind blew in.
