  1. 2-2 on field goals but also missed a convert. Castillo also mentioned his average in practice is way down too so the game is just one example. If 10 of 11 kickers in the league voted against it, they aren't doing just because. I'd like to know who the one kicker was though.
  2. You would think they would have learned from GC that trotting out banged up players is not a great idea. And if that's the case, why would you risk further injury on the opening game of the season? Losing Demski or Brady for an extended period because they felt like they could play a bit banged up would be a terrible roster management choice.
  3. It's possible. I have no idea what size/weight the CFL chip is but at least for the USFL ones, there were reports that it was also affecting their QB's. https://www.sportsbusinessjournal.com/Daily/Issues/2022/04/26/Technology/usfl-abandons-sensors-in-kicking-balls.aspx
  4. No they didn't. The NFL has been using microchips in their balls since about 2017 - the difference is the size of the chip. The NFL chip is about the size of a thumbnail while the USFL chip (and presumably the CFL too if it's causing this issue) is about the size of a golf ball. AFAIK, the data collected isn't really kicking related so a simple solution might be to have a separate set of regular balls for kicking plays & save the chipped ones for everything else.
  5. Here I thought it was PAS not POS. What a turd of a game.
  6. Speaking of unrealistic... Maybe take a look in the mirror?
  7. Is Garcia still in town?
  8. I just got weird looks for saying I couldn't wait to get out to the Pas. I then said Fort Hew? and got the same blank stares. Had to shake my head and walk away at that point.😂
  9. Impressive but it's been done before!
  10. 4 cups for every 1 tooth is a pretty impressive ratio from a certain point of view!
  11. I don't think anyone hates Gauthier. He can play and has his uses, it's just not the the optimal line-up (imo). If it was a ratio issue and had to go with him, I don't think there would be much as much discussion about it, but that's not the case.
  12. Yep. It's an independent arbitrator that sets the schedule so yeah nothing the league can do at the moment. Appeals are expected to take weeks to play out and it's been about 3 weeks since the appeal was filed so you would think it'll wrap up sooner rather than later.
  13. Yeah if you're admitted to a secure wing of a hospital, it's usually for your own safety (ex: suicide or self-harm attempts).
  14. Could the coaches be concerned about having too many new guys in the line-up on defense? They already have two new starters in the front 7 with Fox & Haba so maybe they don't want to add a 3rd or 4th, especially if those guys are new to the league (Ayers/Adams)?
  15. Doesn't have to be one of those 3 three though. They could go Cole - Wilson - Kramdi
  16. In this case, less talented - you're projecting too much. Thomas & Gauthier, at this point of their careers, are not the best options we have.
  17. Kelly hasn't practiced this week due to injury and was ruled out yesterday.
  18. So this story originally stated that the fall occurred at HSC but it turns out this didn't happen in Winnipeg at all. She was originally admitted to a Winnipeg hospital on May 11th (HSC presumably) but was transferred to a BC hospital at some point before the fall happened on May 26th. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/hospital-fall-mamie-laverock-1.7224777
  19. No but being pro-Canadian should not mean favoring less talented players.
  20. It's Harris. BLM may get hurt first but he'll say he's fine (he's not) and refuse to go on the IR. Masoli doesn't count because he's still on the IR from a trip to the bar two years ago.
  21. This would be like Angelo Mosca vs Joe Kapp all over again. 😂
  22. Sayles signed in the NFL after playing for us and was a league All-Star for BC in 2022. I'm not sure him leaving the Bombers is a great example of a player going down hill on a new team, even if he's not the player he once was. Some guys (like Stove) have been unfortunate but others (Casey Sayles for example) have done just fine.
  23. Abbott evens admits this in a separate article. Missing a bunch of key players on both sides of the ball and I don't buy that they'll end up changing their philosophy a ton because they have Stanback. If it turns out that last year wasn't a fluke and he's washed, what then? Back to the 90% aerial attack with lesser players? https://3downnation.com/2024/06/03/over-or-under-b-c-lions-rife-with-questions-despite-heavy-2024-win-projection/ I don't mind them for contract info and that sort of thing but yeah anything opinion-based is not great to say the least.
  24. There's a ton of shitty takes in there. Saskatchewan getting to/winning the Grey Cup is near the top of the list. I think Mace is good for them but he's not taking the from missing the playoffs to running over the league in an off-season. There's a reason why the bookmakers have them as an underdog to start the season against the L's of all teams. Micah Awe as MODP because he had an "all-time great season" last year is also a terrible pick. I didn't realize leading the league in fines made someone a great player?
