Actually there are a bunch of those types - I would say Faj, Maier, Arbuckle, Masoli, & MBT are all in that category of middling starter now looking to extend their career as a back-up. Arbuckle & Masoli are pending FA's, iirc, while the other 3 were available to an limited extent.

Depends on which source you read. Rourke should be the highest now but Kelly & Collaros flip flop between 2 & 3. Before Rourke came back there were multiple articles saying Kelly was the highest paid player but you could also find articles saying it was Zach. In Aug 2023, 3DN had Kelly making $615k in 2024 for the (then) top spot but in May, they had him at #2 making 584k. 3DN (fwiw) definitely had him listed a potential candidate. The "real" media doesn't really cover/care about the CFL to the extent that they would write about OC candidates so 3DN is pretty much it for that kind of talk.

Yeah OC is what I'm most interested to hear about but I'm also happy about the new scouting group. We know the old crew could find DB's but were less successful in other areas so I wonder if we'll have more luck in those areas (DL & LB for me) with a new set of eyes?

Yep, he even went as far as to name some of Campbells assistants when he took over the L's. He had Sherrit as the DC (correct but for the wrong HC) and Killam as STC (partial points for getting the team right but the role wrong). TBF, he wasn't alone. Some Edmonton media guys were convinced the Campbell history there, made Rick as HC a no-brainer.
