  1. The way this regime drafts/develops OL, it's not as big of hit as it would be for some teams. We didn't miss a beat when Goossen retired or when Chung left. As mentioned, we have guys already in place to slide in, should Couture not be back. I don't know that we actually have too many draft picks we're waiting on at the moment. Looking at the picks from 2020-22, most are already here or have been sent packing. Cole Adamson is the only one I can think of that I'd consider an up and comer. 2020: Noah Hallett, Brendan O’Leary-Orange, Marc Liegghio, Nicholas Dheilly, Kyle Rodger, Tanner Cadwallader, Bleska Kambamba 2021: Liam Dobson, Redha Kramdi, Patrice Rene, Robbie Lowes, Kyle Borsa, Shae Weekes 2022: Tyrell Ford, Cole Adamson, Chris Ciguineau, Jeremy Kapelanski, Cedrick Lavigne, Konner Burtenshaw
  2. Even if he bounces around down there for a bit, we've got his rights until Feb 2025 (when his contract would have been up & he'd be eligible for free agency).
  3. He's not CEO but he is back in charge as executive chairman. He, as controlling shareholder, essentially replaced the board of directors and they elected him to the position. His daughter resigned as chairwoman and co-CEO. Vince and his longtime right hand man Nick Khan are running the show again.
  4. They wouldn't be slack jawed yokels then now would they?
  5. I know he split time between Hamilton & Montreal last season but afaik, Randle was never signed to us unless I missed something?
  6. He had some NFL interest prior to the season. He was in mini-camp with the Jets & Steelers before joining the Bombers.
  7. I don't think Demski is in line for a huge pay bump. He was already the highest paid Canadian receiver at 165k and 4th receiver overall (tied with Ellingson & Burnham) so I'm not sure how much higher he could really expect to go. https://3downnation.com/2022/03/17/cfls-receiver-salaries-for-2022-season/
  8. He's in year one of a 4 year guaranteed contract (worth over $13 million) so no. Even if that wasn't the case, his status as a first round pick means he'll get a ton of chances down there.
  9. We made Ellingson one of the highest paid receivers in 2022 so without him on the books, the club has money to spend. Will it be enough for both Demski & Lawler? I'm not sure but we should at least be in contention.
  10. 3 seasons - Grey Cup 2025 will be in Winnipeg. Zach & Strevy can team again up to win it all at home before Zach rides off into the sunset.
  11. He's right up there with the HC for the Atlantic Schooners, in my books.
  12. More proof Suitor is an absolute moron. It's the CFL, every single agent knows well in advance what kind of offer their clients will get. The whole idea of opening day of FA being like Christmas morning for these guys is ridiculous.
  13. Maston's money can go to Darby. They couldn't fit both guys in last year & they went with Maston... given his injuries, I'd be surprised if they go that route again. Grant might be tougher but we'll see I guess.
  14. Crazy bronze medal game going on right now. 2nd & 3rd period were all offense with 13 goals scored. Jets picks Lucius had 2 goals while McGroaty had what looked to be the game winner with a minute and a half left until the Swedes tied it up short handed. Spoke too soon! Lucius with the hat trick to claim the bronze medal.
  15. He was hired by the Elks about a month ago. https://3downnation.com/2022/12/08/edmonton-elks-hire-former-riders-offensive-line-coach-stephen-sorrells/
  16. Same as football players or anyone who repeatedly takes blows to the head really. Not everyone shows signs though and even fewer go completely off the deep end like this. Now that more and more athletes are donating their brains to science when they pass, it'll be interesting to see what (if anything) the research shows in that regard.
  17. Baroni was always a bit unhinged but a lot of people close to him have said he's gone way downhill the last few years. Former UFC champ Josh Barnett shared his experience from a few years ago (2019) where he had to cut ties with Phil because of his erratic behaviour.
  18. Argos sign ex Bomber J.T. Hassell. He was only up here for a few days before making the active roster, which doesn't usually happen, so I was a bit surprised we cut him after only a couple games. His making the roster quickly might have been more about our injuries at the time than his skill though. https://www.argonauts.ca/2023/01/04/double-blue-sign-three-americans-2/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
  19. Yep, he's been pretty open about being close to retirement and just wanted a ring. Won't be surprised to see him sign a 1 day contract with Hamilton and hang em up now that he's got it. https://3downnation.com/2022/10/08/im-just-chasing-this-ring-brandon-banks-ready-to-retire-if-argos-win-the-grey-cup/

  21. Yes, between the 3 films, they were nominated for 8 Oscars (won 1). They won a bunch of other awards too. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_accolades_received_by_The_Hobbit_film_series
  22. Could very well be both. He took a lot of damage in his career so CTE would not be surprising. And based on what I saw firsthand when he was in town for CFC show, he was (at least at that point in his life) ready and looking for a good time.
