  1. According to folks on Twitter, he only needed 3 more games to qualify for his pension, going into the season. He got one in October, his second last night and based on what we saw , he should be in the line-up next week. EDIT - Dunk said it was 6 games so he might be a more reliable source than randoms on Twitter.
  2. Outgoing Alouettes president with a mic drop on loudmouth Gary Stern. 😂
  3. He was definitely playing well early on and then he seemed to hit a bit of a wall towards the start of the second half of the season. I remember DT talking about how at the star of the season, Rutledge had a play or two each game that kind stood out but those slowly started to stop happening and nobody could figure out why. Was it fatigue from not being used to playing this long, coming out of college, was there an injury, maybe a change to the scheme? Whatever the reason, the coaches clearly lost confidence in him by the end of the season and now it's a wrap.
  4. From early front runner for team ROY to the USFL.

  6. One of the issues with Ellis (just looking at his numbers), and why he's overlooked is that he was both a running back and slot back. He also bounced around quite a bit so he never really established a legacy in one place At either position, he's no where near the top of the all-time list but when you look at the numbers of combined, they are impressive. There are hall of famer a with lesser stats
  7. He has 6 years of CFL coaching now (Montreal & Toronto) & 2 years of Usports. In the CFL he's been a receivers coach, a QB coach and an OC. His one year as OC might have been in a name only - he had Jacques Chapdelaine there as an "advisor" while he learned the role. When Popp resigned, Chapdelaine took over as HC and also took over playing calling from AC. He was demoted back to QB coach the next season.
  8. He was dealing with a foot injury going back to at least the end of June. He then broke his foot (not sure if it's the same foot) during GC.
  9. That kind of statement reeks of them just preparing the fans now, trying to soften the blow when they inevitably are stuck with him when no legit QB's want to sign there.
  10. Was the full quote supposed to be "New Riders’ OC Kelly Jeffrey believes Saskatchewan could ‘win a Grey Cup’ with Cody Fajardo at quarterback for another team"?
  11. I think I understand why he was choice #7 now...
  12. Not only that but BC & Calgary have had a really long stretch with above average QB's. They are more than welcome to take their turn having shi**y QB's like every other team has had to deal with.
  13. The L's are literally betting on themselves to beat the Riders in week 1. It's a win-win situation for me... either the Riders lose or it's another Chris Jones disaster. https://3downnation.com/2022/12/13/edmonton-elks-launch-guaranteed-win-promotion-for-the-2023-season/
  14. I wish he would have kept his promise to stop tweeting about the CFL. I assume the lack of a Hamilton games and a chance to play BLM and his new team is what has him upset. Well boohoo. We didn't get a home coming game for Harris last season, so I guess the league hates us too, using his logic.
  15. They should break the streak in Week 1 - the CFL gave them the Riders that early for a reason.
  16. I don't mind Thursday games and my wife loves them since it keeps the weekend free. Not going to please everyone regardless of what they do.
  17. You're not wrong, he got 25 snaps the 1st game he was activated which was about 32% of Denver's defensive plays. He also got 21 snaps on teams which was good for 68% so quite a bit of game play for him overall. He only 15 defensive snaps (21%) & 3 ST snaps (12%) the next game though.
  18. Kongbo never ended up starting but he's see action in 2 games for Denver. 40 snaps between both games, he only made one tackle. He also had 24 ST snaps with no recorded stats.
  19. He's not a younger guy though - he's been coaching for almost 30 years. He just doesn't have a ton of CFL experience (1 year with the argos, one with the L's and now one with the Riders). The team is a dumpster fire of unprecedented levels (can anyone recall the last time this many coaches has declined a job offer or flat out refused to even interview?) but I'm just disagreeing that coaches are declining because they are scared to be on the move in after a year - it's a regular occurrence, regardless if the team is good or bad.
  20. Same reason coaches leave good teams all the time - advancement and experience. Somebody (Kelly Jeffrey) will take that OC position and at the very least they'll have that on their resume for their next gig.
  21. The two sweetest words in the English language!
  22. Yep, and I don't buy the spin that coaches are worried about O'Day/Dicky getting canned so they don't want to uproot for a season (or less). Positional coaches like Constanza take one year deals all the time, that's par for the course until you get into a higher role. How does it look for the coach who they finally do hire to be the 8th or 9th choice? Their RB coach is the only known candidate left (according to Dunk). 😂
  23. As a rotational player, I'm OK with it but I'd hope to see Lawson taking the majority of his reps next season.
