  1. See you later Priester since he was released? Here's what 3DN had on Sanford going into the draft:
  2. Pure speculation on my part but their current location has ample parking that allows them to hold BBQ competitions (as they did this weekend). The Tony Roma's location would also allow for this so I wonder if that's a reason for them looking at that spot. It would be harder to find that much room closer to downtown I suspect.
  3. Do they still have a spot on William Ave in the Exchange? I went there a few times (pre-pandemic) and it was always great food.
  4. Famous Dave's is pretty dead these days, from what I've seen. The few times I've been, the food has been hit or miss. I was actually at Bigg Smoak's out in Steinbach on Saturday and their food was amazing. They are also very connected to the local BBQ/Smoking community (running classes & holding competitions) so they have a decent following already. Whether or not that will translate to support for a second location is anyone's guess though.
  5. Shocked he got up and was able (or even allowed) to stand while Chandler got his hand raised.. He was down for quite a while.
  6. At a very early age, I learned a relative was playing for the Oilers (he played from the end of the WHA until midway through the dynasty) so I was born into it and never left. I've always cheered for the Jets against every other team too though so I definitely don't have a issue with having two teams.
  7. Their earlier tweet has more reaction if that make you feel any better. Besides, these tweets are their reaction to the heat, not the actual cause of it. There was a lot more talk on Twitter last night when the news about the ratio proposal came out.
  8. The USFL had to modify their plan after 1 week. The sensors in the balls seemed to be affecting kicks so they stopped using them on kicking plays. Haven't seen any updates (for better or worse) since that happened a couple weeks ago. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/04/24/usfl-changed-kicking-balls-for-week-two-due-to-issues-with-sensor/
  9. Happy Star Wars day!
  10. This year's Mr Irrelevant is FB Konner Burtenshaw from Queens. https://gogaelsgo.com/sports/football/roster/konner-burtenshaw/10123
  11. Pick 65: Cedric Lavigne, DB from Carlton. https://goravens.ca/rosters/lavigneD-cedric/
  12. Pick 56: Jeremy Kapelanski, DL from Guelph. https://www.gryphonfootball.com/jeremy-kapelanski-lamoureux From 3DN: 8. Cole Adamson, University of Manitoba (Winnipeg, Man.) Far from flashy, Adamson is a gap sound run defender inside who stacks and sheds violently and is hard to knock off the ball. The six-foot-four, 291-pounder brings very little in terms of pass rush value, but he can be trusted to do the dirty work and catches my eye as a potential offensive line convert.
  13. Bombers Pick 47 - Chris Ciguineau DB from Ottawa. https://teams.geegees.ca/sports/fball/2018-19/bios/ciguineau_chris_7rqy
  14. Can we forfeit the pick? "There was nobody else worth taking" - Marcel Desjardins MBB Selection Committee. Bombers stay local with the 38th pick. https://gobisons.ca/sports/football/roster/cole-adamson/4486
  15. Last pick - another Aussie punter, Michael Sleep-Dalton. https://hawkeyesports.com/roster/michael-sleep-dalton/
  16. 2nd Pick: Souleymane Karamoko, DB from Laval. https://www.americanfootballinternational.com/nfl-international-player-pathway-spotlight-souleymane-karamoko-db-france/
  17. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tom_Hackett Spent a bit of time with the Jets back in 2016.
  18. Global draft later this morning (11am CST) on the CFL website. The regular draft is on TSN tonight from 8-10.
  19. Live look at Hodge & Ferguson reviewing their mock drafts:
  20. I wonder if this news affects the team's draft strategy?
  21. I'm assuming this is Maggi's (Syrian food) - they took over the Whistle Pig's location a few years ago and like the WP, they close down for the winter.
  22. Every area is still heavily into Burgers and Fries, that's not exclusive to this end of the city and I've seen the same traffic at the Wendy's on Fermor (check out that strip if you want to see an area that is overwhelmingly Burgers and Fries). I agree that the options on/near Henderson are lacking. I was skeptical about Grand Donut (just based on the name) but co-workers swore by the Banh Mi so I gave it a shot (it was fantastic). I haven't tried anything else from there so I can't rate it overall but Watt St Bistro is another decent option for Vietnamese in that area.
  23. I can't speak for Elmwood but you're using outdated stereotypes for Transcona. The population is much more diverse these days and I know I can find Indian, Syrian and Filipino restaurants all within a 5 minute drive from me.
