  1. It's 127k in hard money - we don't know what else he potentially stands to earn in Ottawa.
  2. Live look at the Shell execs as they agonize over this decision:
  3. It was definitely against Bell. He talks about it here: https://ftw.usatoday.com/2017/08/best-sports-gifs-kerwin-bell-spike-ball-crotch-valdosta-state-coach-colts-dolphins-florida-video
  4. Small clarification - they cancelled Nord stream 2. The Nord stream 1 pipeline is still fully operational (at least as of a few days ago). https://www.businessinsider.com/nord-stream-1-eon-gas-pipeline-germany-gazprom-russia-ukraine-2022-2
  5. Is it really a sign of success though? Exhibit A:
  6. Can you drown him while you're in there?
  7. I've only been once for a UFC but I had a great time. I was near the ByWard Market (about a 10 minute walk to Parliament Hill), super nice, very scenic area with a number of pubs. I would go back in heartbeat.
  8. It's happened in Winnipeg as well so it's not all that uncommon unfortunately. This hotel could definitely have handled this much better though - I've read some accounts where other hotels realized they screwed up and didn't jack the prices for Grey Cup week, so they kept the existing reservations as is but any future reservations were made at a much higher rate. Another version I've read was that a hotel cancelled all reservations but immediately rebooked the rooms at a slightly higher rate. They then contacted the affected guests and gave them the option to keep the new reservation or cancel. So same scenario but 3 different approaches... The Hampton chose the worst possible one. We booked rooms a while ago as we found decently priced rooms (for GC week anyhow), but now this story has us checking to make sure our reservations are still in place! 😂
  9. Do you think he would allow himself to be taken alive?
  10. 100% and as an added measure of security, he added a couple of buttons, just in case.
  11. It's all Brock's fault... the F5 on a steel chair must have really done some damage!
  12. Belarus is allowing the Russian forces to attack/invade the Ukraine through their territory and now seem be ready to add their own soldiers to the attack as well. https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2022/02/27/russia-ukraine-war-kyiv-news/
  13. That's what I mean though - they continue to play because, right now, it's just words with no immediate consequences. This didn't happen overnight either so I'm sure they have already made preparations, knowing this is how the West would respond.
  14. I'm not sure what the sanctions will do in general. Target the foreign assets of extremely wealthy people, the ones controlling this? I'm sure they'll feel that at some point down the road but the Ukraine will have been destroyed by then.
  15. He signed with the Stamps on Feb 1st and less than two weeks later he wants them to release him and he's calling them unprofessional? He's talking about professionalism and business on twitter but nobody forced him to sign a contract when it was well known the USFL was coming back. If he had an interest in that, he could have avoided this whole thing by not signing with Calgary until he knew more about what the USFL was offering.
  16. They knew what they were doing was against the law by interfering with collective bargaining but went ahead and did it anyway, knowing full well this would be the outcome. But Pallister got to kick that can down the road so it's not his problem although I'm sure he would have preferred the NDP be back in power when the bill came due so the PC's can hang the increased spending on them.
  17. Raise your hand if you didn't see this coming... thanks Brian! https://www.winnipegfreepress.com/local/taxpayers-on-hook-for-19m-after-tories-interfered-in-u-of-m-contract-576238372.html
  18. I don't think it changes much to be honest. Dobson was always a futures pick and we knew was not going to be here for 2021 because of school and 2022/23 was most likely when he was going to be chasing an NFL spot. The USFL deal might mean he's out until 2024 but who knows if that will be the case - he was the last OG taken in their draft (with one team even opting not to take a 2nd guard) so it wasn't like teams were scrambling to grab him. His NFL prospects also might not be as good originally speculated, if he's already decided to go the USFL route (meaning he's likely not getting drafted or signed as a priority FA so he'll need to put in more work).
  19. I wouldn't necessarily blame the media specifically in this case.... this is 3downnation we're talking about here. It's a glorified blog site. The headline is s**t but they do mention all those guys (and others) in the actual article.
  20. Yeah, in the CFL.ca article, Stove even talked about how much he enjoyed that scenery when the Bombers would be playing out there. He flat out said it played a part in his decision to leave so good for him getting paid and moving to an area he really enjoys.
