Mythbuster did a show on the 10% myth. Used a brain scanner and everything. Showed it to be false. The Freeman movie had me shouting at the screen within 5 minutes over this. No idea why the myth has such legs to still be repeated.

other then not being built in an earthquake zone could anything have been done to prevent what happened in Japan after that earthquake a few years back? While being a very bizarre way to phrase the question, yes. The basic design of the reactor is partly to blame. One of the reasons the CANDU is considered safe is because it shuts down if the water is removed. But there were other design issues with the Fuji reactor that more modern reactors don't have. But not building in an earthquake zone is a pretty big deal. And other sources of power generation carry their own risks.

Hollywood fantasy... It's fun to watch & get into as a fan (which I enjoy) but nothing based on reality. A theory is just that, a theory. Therefore if that theory is used not based on scientific fact, it is therefore a fantasy. Careful with the word "theory". Means different things to different people.

Dominique Davis Named Starting QB vs Argos
tacklewasher replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I guess the other side to this is which QB's did the Bombers develop over the last 25 years went on to start (aside from injuries) for another team? -
Ew, no thanks. Here's a question for you though. If they download your brain to a machine, is it still you, or a copy of you? It's a copy. But a self aware copy that would be deserving of life as well.

As long as I don't have to fill out the damn thing again. Took forever and I didn't like some of the questions.

Next question ... since it seems to be a theme around here

Even two years ago Edm. swept the Bombers, so they were never quite as bad. I think they had a similar record though. Edm 4-14, Wpg 3-15 I guess I should have said the Eskimos were *almost* as bad as we were. Still, to see them hoist the cup in IGF this year is going to burn, especially since Walters built us to win it all this year. LOL! So, Edmonton/Ottawa Grey Cup? Either way the Bombers organization gets shown up? -
Grey Cup Halftime Show is Fall Out Boy
tacklewasher replied to mikey d's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Meh. I'm in the 50+ and can't name one of their songs. But I don't expect much out of GC halftime shows anyway so it won't impact me watching the game. -
No. As I said elsewhere, offer him a conditional extension based on wins. Whether it's 50%, 60% or a playoff spot or whatever, put it in writing as the condition for an extension. He meets it, he's extended. He doesn't and the conversation is re-opened (but he is likely gone). Don't reward him for the last 2 years of ****. I don't care if it's the OC's fault, or Willy injured or what the excuse is. The last 2 years have been **** and you don't reward a HC for that. Improve or get the **** out. Any quality OC will come here fully expecting to have the HC job by labour day.

The most pathetic was the Enterprise being under water. Futurama did it better.

Is it just available on the CBS All Access thing?

Never thought of that. So, "This Old House" or a Canadian renovator.

Nah. Holmes would go overboard. Somewhere along the lines, he lost touch with reality. I'm thinking a Love it or List it show But I'd be all for Baulmer doing it.

Could our coaching staff be crazy enough to.....
tacklewasher replied to bb1's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
My suggestion is that they have fun. Especially the coaches. May as well since this should be their last game as Bombers. 1. Sit the punter. Just go for it on 3rd and long. Forget field goals. Just go for it. Who cares if you turn the ball over. 2. Trick plays. As many as you an think of. Laterals, Onside kicks on first downs. Whatever you can think of, do it. Show some imagination. 3. Sit the starters. Sit the guys who have been playing all year. Bring in the guys from the PR and IR (assuming they are not really injured). Let them play for a change. 4. If you get to Ray, don't sack him, tickle him. Give him a pat on the butt. I'd say give him a kiss, but the helmets will get in the way. About the only way I'm gonna watch this trainwreck finally crash and burn is if the game is entertaining. And fire all the coaches by the following Monday morning. -

I'm cheering for Ottawa at this point. DOn't have the same hate as some for Burris, but think this is his last season so think he should go out with a cup. -

Disagree completely. Found myself, oddly cheering for Burris yesterday. Like to see the old guy leave with a cup. And the fans were not the problem in Ottawa in the past. -
The Next Step to Excitement: Change the Safety Touch

BB would still find a way to lose. -
I think its soon. But why isnt it a good idea if naming of other Airports after PM's is okay? Should wait until he is no longer a sitting MP.

How do I pick the bombers to lose this week? I know, I know. Pick BC and Mtl to win. But it just isn't as satisfying as picking the Bombers to lose.

Lawless: O'Shea & Walters to return in 2016
tacklewasher replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
No. I'm all for keeping Buck around, but nothing any of the offensive coaching staff have done deserve them a promotion. Bring in a seasoned OC or just say **** off to the fans. I'm mean, don't we need an OC who can teach Buck something useful? Then when MOS is let go mid-season, at least Buck would have a half year of decent learning under his belt. -
At first overall or 9th overall, odds are solid we get a legit oline prospect as long as we draft the right guy. Also, Wagoneer has been a monster on the teams from what ive seen, always down field fast and making hits. hes also looked adequate in minimal reps on defense. To say we shoulda done this or that is pointless because we hypothetically could have a ratio breaking player in an uncommon position. Worth a first rounder in my books everytime. Only drawback is there is guarantees. We coulda kept the pick and watching him excel elsewhere while our first overall oliner is off to the NFL or a bust as well.. Cant really make a claim to wasted pick until a few seasons go by. Yup those old 3-ton 4WD Jeeps would really barrel downfield. Had one of those. Great in the snow. Fuel mileage suked though and ugly as ****. Wait. What were we talking about again?
