That's what I meant. Rider fans are defending Jones at all cost even in light of Chick's new contract. Quite evident Jones had no use for him. But rather than simply admit he wanted to go younger and cheaper at the position he made the official company line "we had no choice" and let Taman's battered corpse and Chick's greedy agent take all the fall out.
