Trump's company charges the Secret Service for the rooms agents use while protecting him at his luxury properties — billing U.S. taxpayers at rates as high as $650 per night, according to federal records and people who have seen receipts? Well, that works.... Given that Trump visited Trump properties, on 117 days in 2019.

So after Susan Collins, Alexander and some other Senate stooges spent the week warbling about how Trump had "learned his lesson" and "wouldn't do anything like that, again" Big surprise: https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/481569-trump-dismissed-collins-comment-that-he-would-learn-from-impeachment-report Bottom line: this acquittal* simply encourages and validates Trump to further abuse his power. Have to wonder if these people are being deliberately obtuse or are simply delusional. Just in: Sen. Susan Collins (R-Maine) on Wednesday acknowledged that her stated belief that President Trump had learned a lesson from impeachment was "aspirational," saying that she "may not be correct on that."

You have to understand that they really have a lot in common, with the guy that hired them. ps, MItt is simply one of a legion of ole time Senate hacks (on both sides of the bench)......no hero of mine. Besides, if he was still running for his seat.... he would probably kowtow like the rest of the Republican lemmings..

No more than: Sessions, Carson, Devos, Chao, Perry, Ross, Zinke, Pompeo, Pruitt, Mulvany, Price and a host of others. All current or ex-members of Trump's cabinet. The other common denominator: All Uber lobbyists for a host of special interests. Record setting levels of lobbyists, with this administration (you can look it up) in fact. Yet all these deluded idiots, keep screaming "swamp" every time Trump runs into any opposition or criticism from anybody. They fail to understand, that with Trump, they are neck deep in it. Everything is wrong, alright

Sleepy Joe better wake up. An embarrassing showing for a supposed front runner. Perhaps not that surprising.....his campaign so far.....has put the dull, back in dishwater. He is bringing butter knifes to a gunfight.

Well, my point was that people like this guy........ along with Hannity, Alex Jones and other far right wing megaphones have spent the last 2 decades, poisoning the well - a big part in why America is so polarized. An entire generation of white "victims" caught in the thrall of perceived persecution, zany conspiracy theories, isolationism, ignorance and bigotry. I know Trump loves this stuff and always panders to his insipid base.....but to give that drugged out, bellowing Limbaugh cretin, the Medal of Freedom completely debases it.

Trump says he will award Rush Limbaugh with Medal of Freedom: https://www.cnn.com/2020/02/04/politics/rush-limbaugh-donald-trump-medal-of-freedom/index.html Who is next? David Duke?

Some insight into current Republican values......from the guy that was looked upon as a key swing vote in the Senate. Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.) — who in a statement last week called President Trump's conduct “inappropriate" — has shown no inclination to also endorse a resolution formally censuring Trump. He was one of four Senate Republicans who last week deliberated voting for subpoenas of additional witnesses and documents; however, he eventually voted with 50 other colleagues against extending the impeachment trial. The Tennessee senator last week called Trump’s order to freeze military aid to Ukraine in an attempt to spur an investigation of former Vice President Joe Biden “inappropriate.” Alexander said that the House impeachment managers had provided a to prove their claim that Trump held the assistance to pressure Ukrainian officials to announce an investigation. Alexander replied: So lets see if we can somehow, understand this clearly. Alexander is saying that Trump did it, it was wrong, the House Democrats proved it......but he still voted against witnesses and will vote for acquittal. He also thinks that Trump is somehow now chastised and wouldn't dare commit some kind of illegal or inappropriate act in future. 😄😣😵🤨☹️

Rubio: Impeachable actions don't necessarily mean a president should be removed: https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/480912-rubio-impeachable-actions-dont-necessarily-mean-a-president-should-be-removed Listening to this stuff......is like trying to pour gin into a glass, with a hole in the bottom

The somewhat farcical aspects of this trial are not going to mean much in the end. Trump will be acquitted. Does anyone really think this Senate will come up with two thirds majority to impeach? I have doubts that even 4 Republican Senators could be found, with the stones to allow witnesses. (so they can have those first person accounts, they have decrying the lack of) You could have Trump on video, shooting someone in Times Square.......and Mitch and his boyos, would find some way to suppress, or simply ignore it. Some of this week's arguments to acquit Trump, really border on the absurd. The supreme irony, is that all this lying, deflecting, and suppressing is being done on behalf of a guy (Trump)....who absolutely has no loyalty to anyone, including the Republican party, and who in fact, holds many of these Republican lapdogs in total contempt. All these idiots have managed to accomplish lately..... is the gradual erosion of the powers of the legislative branch, particularly the Senate - simply to prop up a corrupt and mendacious President and his administration.

They did already.

Amazing and extraordinary broad view of executive power. Like Barr, Dershowitz has found the way to Trump's heart. Another shinebox boy.

The people Trump has fired in less than one term.......is legion. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Trump_administration_dismissals_and_resignations The folks that like to rant and rave about the "Swamp", should really take some time to peruse this......

I also have lunch with them, and discuss national security issues....

More dodge ball..... Senate Homeland Security Committee Chairman Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) on Monday suggested that Bolton reveal what he knows to the media. Johnson said Bolton should do so “without involving the trial” and possibly go straight to the media.

New Republican containment plan: Sen. James Lankford (R-Okla.) on Monday night said the White House should give senators access to Bolton’s draft book, which claims President Trump linked security assistance for Ukraine with an investigation of former Vice President Joe Biden. Lankford said the manuscript could be viewed in the Senate’s Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF). The highly secure room located in the basement level of the Capitol Visitors Center is usually used for classified briefings or to review sensitive intelligence and national security documents. We are talking about a book, that will be available to everybody on the planet, within months. But the contents need to be hidden for now......or will be "interpreted" in the proper fashion. Perhaps they could get Barr or Nunes...simply to issue a "summary" Really.

Well, first off....I am pretty suspicious of "connections" when it comes to long time, high profile politicians, of any stripe. Including Biden. If he and his son have done anything shady, the US has their law enforcement agencies, House and Senate, as tools to initiate investigation and should do so. But blackmailing a foreign government, by withholding aid already approved and passed by Congress, to have them initiate an investigation into a domestic political opponent (or any US citizen, for that matter).....has no moral or legal rational and sets a terrible precedent, regardless of who is in the White House, now or later. Having a back channel process and bypassing official channels, with Uncle Rudy (and Panas) smearing a US ambassador and engineering her removal, to smooth their path, adds even more odium. Of course Trump and Rudy could have been simply selflessly battling corruption, as they see it. If anyone really believes that.....please contact me, to obtain some outstanding real estate opportunities
