  1. ....to allow for an FBI investigation.

  3. Just in from the Hill.... 1:30 deadline passes with no vote and plenty of confusion 1:37 p.m. The 1:30 p.m. deadline for having a vote on Kavanaugh has come and gone without an explanation from Grassley. Flake, who announced this morning he would vote for the nominee but also expressed doubt about what to make of Kavanaugh’s testimony Thursday, has been missing from the hearing room for a while, prompting speculation he may have changed his mind or may want a delay before a panel vote. Flake emerged briefly from the anteroom and asked Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), the ranking Democrat on the committee to follow him back inside for a private discussion. He had a deeply concerned expression on his face. Flake was confronted by protesters this morning after announcing his support for Kavanaugh. Flake said he felt compelled to support Kavanaugh in the absence of corroborating evidence backing up Ford’s claim that he committed a sexual assault in the early 1980s. Republicans have filed back and forth to the committee's anteroom and there have have been intense whispered conversations among members the past 40 minutes.
  4. Jeff Flake.......talked a good game, but when Graham put the thumb on him, folded like a lawn chair.
  5. Yesterday afternoon: Kavanaugh: Graham: Cited a letter from the American Bar Association. The organization had given Kavanaugh its highest rating going into his confirmation process, and Graham held this up as proof of his great character Last nite: The American Bar Association late Thursday urged the Senate Judiciary Committee to delay the vote to confirm Supreme Court Nominee Brett Kavanaugh pending a full FBI investigation, according to multiple reports. In a letter addressed to Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley and ranking Democrat Dianne Feinstein, the organization requested the committee hold off on voting until allegations made by Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and others can be fully vetted by the FBI. “We make this request because of the ABA’s respect for the rule of law and due process under law,” the letter read. “The basic principles that underscore the Senate’s constitutional duty of advice and consent on federal judicial nominees require nothing less than a careful examination of the accusations and facts by the FBI.” Rule of law? Ethical standards? Due process? This is the Trump spittle licking Senate, we are talking about. Anybody think they are interested in any of that stuff?
  6. Praise the Lord......a miracle!
  7. Still watching this crap. So the new criteria for the comportment of Supreme Courts Judges is.......whining, crying, anger, aggression and bellowing out conspiracy theories. Only in Trump Land. The contrast with Professor Ford's testimony is glaring, indeed.....
  8. Excellent judicial demeanor. And this is just a hearing......
  9. Another enlightened senior Republican.... http://www.rollcall.com/news/politics/hatch-calls-blasey-ford-attractive-pleasing-but-wont-say-whether-he-finds-her-credible
  10. Impartial? This guy came though the Republican internal vetting.... because he was seen as the most likely candidate to uphold the concept of Executive Privilege, in the high court, where and when required. That got him the green light from Trump.
  11. The ultimate defense...
  12. The proper term is "vigorous"
  13. The Republican white men on the Judiciary committee are too cowardly to question an assault victim....... but they're now chomping at the bit, to throw softball questions at the accused Republican white guy. Great optics.....
  14. Well, you could end up taking it all the way to the Supreme Court, where he can then rule against it........
  15. Coming in the wake of their refusal to have any real investigation of anything.......today, Graham and Grassley look (and sound) like absolute caricatures, at this point.
  16. With my crystal ball.......no matter what Kavanaugh says this afternoon, or how he comes across..... You are going to get a lot of "Facts vs Emotion" from the Republicans.. Just a hunch...
  17. https://thehill.com/homenews/senate/408800-graham-after-ford-testimony-i-feel-ambushed-by-dems Sore loser
  18. ...and Grassley, Graham, and McConnell would be leading the charge
  19. Well, they could of taken statements from Ms. Ramirez and Ms.Swetwick, or subpoenaed/questioned Judge, the polygraph examiner, or any of the potential witnesses. With this Senate Committee not being able to bring themselves to do any of that, and not having the balls to simply ask their own questions - bottom line, the FBI could of handled all of that. But an actual investigation was simply not part of the this particular agenda, in any way shape or form. Nor was any delay in the confirmation process. 3 women publicly stepping forward, who are willing to do lie detection, and testify.....against a Supreme Court nominee, for various forms of sexual misconduct? Why would anyone want to take a closer look at that? Nah, lets vote.
  20. They will blame the prosecutor, and assert that she somehow bungled the proceedings. Of course, if Senators on a Senatorial Committee would actually do their own job......... ps.... Grassley and Graham still looked and sounded like "angry old white men"......
  21. Reactions from Fox News.... Chris Wallace: Judge Napolitano (a Trump favorite)
  22. Nichols is going to flat out burn the Esks for 250......
  23. Mission accomplished: https://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/408358-trump-boasting-line-in-un-speech-was-meant-to-get-some-laughter A stable genius is never caught off guard.....
  24. Luck is the residue.... of doing the right things, the right way.....at the right time
  25. As a non-gin-drinking, virgin, in high school, who never inhaled - I just wish people would cut Kavanaugh some slack
