As far as my own "negative" approach..... The bottom line...... Bombers overall play is not getting it done, and the results are falling far short (yet again) of any reasonable expectation..... This makes it pretty difficult to accurately report on the play, during games...or make any kind of evaluation of some (ok, most) positions on this team....without it being somewhat "negative" in both content and tone.... Believe me....it would be far more satisfying and for that matter, fun.....to be able to toss out plaudits, lolypops, and be able to stick out my chest more often. Instead of having MY team a figure of fun, or an object of pity.... The fans do their part...... in investing money, time, and emotion in their team. When "payback" in the form of good play and winning doesn't happen....there will always be a letdown. No amount of BS, excuses and wishful thinking will fix or compensate for this.... Particular when the light at the end of the tunnel has not become visible to the naked eye, just yet......

All these good players on paper.....yet nobody did nothing. Something is broken here.

What really bothered me, beyond Willy's inconsistencies......was how many facets of this team, just didn't do a job, out there. Run blocking was abysmal, blitz pickup is a sometimes thing.....along the with soft coverage and weak tackling on D. Our vaunted DL has 1 sack in 2 games. Only halfway competent area, right now is special teams...... Overall, we look soft, disinterested, and not real coached up. Not seeing a lot of fire and purpose out there. When the game is actually on the line (first 45 minutes, in both games)....we are simply dictated to, and dominated...on both sides of the ball. As far as this "preparation is fine" stuff from MOS.....the simply dreadful starts, suggest otherwise.

Mack is long gone....... But the excuses live on....

Blue have nice first drive....but fail on fake FG ....followed up by missed passes, drops, missed blocks.. ...and naturally, two and outs.... Macho blocks punt to open 2nd quarter... .....Posey takes it to the 5...... Nichols punches it in... Bombers score first TD of a game......light at end of tunnel - 7-3 Bo Levi Mitchell 18 yd run...on a 3rd and 1... sets up field goal... Next Stamp possession....very easy 70 yd TD drive...... Stamps get ball back..... another BLM TD pass.... 17 Calgary points on 3 straight possessions... Soft coverage, in back and missed tackles everywhere...... The Bomber O?....2 and out...wash, rinse, repeat... Blue finally get it going near end of half.......... ....but somehow run off 12 seconds on final play of half..... ....to deny Medlock a long FG attempt.... Incompetence dies hard.....as Stamps up 20-7 TOP was 20:39 to 9:21... and not for us.. The Stampeders horse left less crap on field, than Blue.... Hey, but there is always the 2nd half, right? Stamps take ball...with opening drive for FG..... ...followed with 70 yd TD drive... ...while Bomber D put on a tackling clinic.... ...as in how just not to do it.... ANOTHER Stamp TD drive...36-7 at end of 3rd Q. 33 unanswered points from Calgary.. But there is still good ole garbage time ...which is now.... the new Bomber specialty. Sure enough....82 yd drive.. ...Adams with TD catch. Willy follows up with another drive... ....and TD pass to Jace Davis...now 36-22 Willy actually ends up near 300 yds with 2 TD's... Most of it... in another 10 minutes of big time football.. Once we figure out that other 50 minutes... ...we are golden... ..but right now...fans are simply blue Control the ball? Harris 8 yds rushing.... Messam 138 yds Defense?....Stamps ....500 yds on O. Clock management? Lets not go there... Bombers have now lost 13 of last 14 in Calgary.... Let the (usual) excuses fly.... ...and the gin flow....

Well, he is a much nicer guy, than Joe Mack....

Sorry, I have no lollypops to hand out here. That "effort" for the most part was an insult to Bomber fans.

Once we figure out that other 50 minutes... ...we are golden...

When they put in more than 10 minutes a game...

We need to stay the course, hold the line, keep the faith, and not be fairweather fans. ...and I need to keep drinking...

Rider D looked alright after the 1st quarter....but special teams need work. Turnovers and penalties didn't help either. Durant went all the way, but struggled with the outs and slants, in the 4th.

Well, I like.... and am rooting for this HC and GM. Really am. But, we are certainly lacking something. MOS is 12-26. The Bombers under Walters, are 14-35. To say that is bad....is a understatement - not even close to being good enough..... O'Shea is in the last year of his contract, Walters is up, next year. We went all in in free agency, and have a club that is at least better on paper. It is too early to write things off....this team could make some noise. But this fan base needs to hear it, real soon. Thumbing through the ole Bomber excuse book, after another string of losses, is simply not going to placate anyone, at this point........nor should it. We can talk patience, right until the lost cows come home. But, in professional sports.....results count, and failure eventually walks.

Football games are 60 minutes long..... The deal... is to not simply dig ourselves right into a deep hole, for the first 30, 40.... or in this case closer to 50 minutes. The tiresome reality.... is that the Bombers continue to do this game, after game, after game.......a critical factor that leads to loss, after loss, after loss. As soon as they kick that habit.....you will certainly see an uptick in approval and more confidence from the fans, towards this team. ...and just perhaps... a decrease in gin consumption. But I am not making promises....

Miss a pass, take a penalty, drop a pass, fail on short yardage......Bombers kept themselves off the field alright, while the Als kept themselves on. Don't know what the TOP at the end of the 3rd was.....but pretty sure it was ugly,

When we got Harris going, it seemed to help kick start the passing game.......however, we hardly had the ball (Montreal O) for most of the game....

Sure, Willy missed some throws, and held the ball too long for a couple of sacks...... But a number of other things went wrong...... in a game where we got dominated for 50 min. We looked unprepared coming out of the gate....for the umpteenth time. Yup, Glenn played a good game.....but to complete 30 passes, you have to have a lot of open receivers.
