Well, when you can't reel in the top guys, or locate up and comers........and settle for proven retreads.... this is what you get. A rookie HC, requires the strongest possible staff around him - naturally, we did the complete inverse.....

Walters did a pretty good job of articulating current weakness, on this team. Mind you, a fair number of posters, on this site....have or could have done the same. The deal is how will these issues will be dealt with, this off-season. Breaking the chain of incompetence.... in hiring OC's.. is a must, as well.

So torn and divided, at the moment...... don't know if I should be picking up my gin glass with my right....or left hand. All I know is that it still gets picked up.

We made him what he is today.....

There is no uber conspiracy. This team has seemed to lack a comprehensive plan, to strive for excellence and put petal to the metal.....instead tending to defer to the cheap, buddy, nice guy, in-house, familiar, fan friendly types......to coach things, backed by inferior scouting, which in the main, has fallen short in recruitment and player development. We have had a number of endemic weaknesses on this club.....that seem to go on....for years and years...despite the revolving door... While the fans spin round and round... in ever widening circles. Just like our team.

Anyone really think that our current offensive crew is tough enough?....

Problem is....we have one outstanding DL guy.....and a host of others. This area needs a serious upgrade.

Cheap hire, buddy-buddy hire, convenience hire, nice guy hire.......lets us try searching for actual talent or upside, this time. Start running this thing like a real pro team - not Mom & Dad's Sodium Shop.

Suppose we could aim our sights a bit higher.....and strive for mediocrity.

Look at what Ottawa has around Burris......then look at what Willy has around him.....

As far as Burris.....who could of predicted the season he is having? But Ottawa did put an O line around him, that can actually block. They also use the no-huddle and spread O packages very well. Rebuilding their receiving corps and bringing in a lot of size and speed didn't hurt, either. .....you know, the kind of things, we seem incapable of doing....

You know you have a great point and is probably the reason MOS will never be a good HC he just doesn't have enough expertise or experience on ethier side of the ball to lean on in times of trouble.He desperately needs good experienced coordinators to be able to run a team.If they promote Buck with his limited experience it's just going to clearly show this limitation. Well....he certainly got off to a roaring start with MB, Tracy.....and Etch.

Willy elite? No, hasn't proven that. Willy a good QB? Absolutely. Willy has the tools, but needs an offensive structure that didn't come out of a Cracker Jack box. More OL guys who can actually block, and a full time C to make proper snaps would help. A real size/speed/strength go-to type of receiver, wouldn't hurt either.....

So...the slow starts, uber-conservative play calls, and lack of adjustments we had when Lapo was here..just a figment of my imagination. ... Good to know

Need 2 D Linemen... and 1 or two cover guys in the D backfield. ..

As long as there is an actual "exhaustive search", not a pseudo one.
