Foolish to start Marve...he is not ready. On the other hand, we have a guy with experience, who knows Marcel's system.....

[MERGED] Drew Willy Watch 3.0 Has Ended
do or die replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Well, at least we attempted to upgrade the OL.......can't say the same for the coaching staff. Hope the people who rag on Willy, enjoy the new era....... -
Lost by 30.....tremendous moral victory.....3 or 4 more of those, and we should hold a parade.
-
Past time for MOS to get off the snide, and lay it down.....in terms of what some of his assistants are doing, and holding some players accountable for sub-par performance. Because in Star Trek parlance.....shields are dropping.
-
Not convinced that Hurl has the strength/speed that we need there, going forward. That said, watching Bucknor iso'd in man cover, makes me reach for my gin...
-
On an upbeat note: If nothing else, we rule in garbage time....
-
This is what I don't understand, and maybe it's because they're both not micromanagers, but when Burke was here, our D sucked, yet he didn't seem to do anything to help Creehan it seemed. Now our special teams suck and it seems like MOS isn't helping out Tracey. What gives? Could be "rookie coach" syndrome, overwhelmed with the scope of managing the project as a whole. ...and/or being lumbered down with some weak sisters (Marcel/Tracy) At least we are seeing some improvment/adjustments with Hall. MOS better start holding the reins tighter, because some of this stink is beginning to settle on him....

Watching Picard (Marcel) attempting to get the line calls straight, was like watch a duck, after it was hit over the head with the rubber hammer. We just looked so passive and confused up there. There is no rule that states you cannot at least rub or chip a guy on the way in. Even after Willy went out....had 2 plays where guys came in on Brohm, untouched....and on the Marve pick, he had backside pressure from a guy who (you guessed it) was untouched..... Edm/Ham make us look like puppies, out there....and it starts with this OC, who has nothing, when the other team amps up the pressure. Picard has been a massive dissapointment, so far, and Neufled took a major step back this week.

Trouble with Marcel is.... that you see a game and say "not bad" followed by about 3 others...where you are saying "what the hell are we doing?"
-
We have a 2nd year head coach....with some weak sisters on his staff...
-
We made a commitment to mediocrity...when we re-upped Marcel....come to think of it, what is Pat Tracy's secret?

Watching Brohm putting up the nerf balls to the sidelines, had me reaching for the gin.... -
Agree in the main, especially the D, but this is a real bad "habit" when it happens as often as it does. We had essentially 53 minutes of garbage time..
-
Special teams are killing us..... Marcel cannot handle pressure D packages... Some of the vets on the OL got pushed around... will anyone be held responsible?
-
Why not? Brohm did nothing yet again....
-
What bothers me is the team reaction to something bad, early, yet again. (Willy pick 6) You are supposed to hitch up your pants and fight back...not fall completely apart

Bombers driving, but Willy tipped pass..... ...results in INT 6 for Tigercats Plenty of time to recover from something like that.. ...or not....blocked punt and pass to Grant for another 6.. Then Stodimire plays bobblehead on kickoff...turnover. ...followed by short pass for yet another 6.. 21-0 for Hamilton... Blowing a game in only 7 minutes..pretty efficient Film at 11.. Bomber special teams up to their usual (lousy) ways.. Pat Tracy still leading a charmed life.. Willy harassed and knocked around.... ...5 sacks in the first half... Bomber OL standing up to the Hamilton pressure ....like a bunch of milk cartons Picard's struggles continue.... Newfeld took a giant step backwards... Cotton and Adams go down early... Bomber OC, QB and OL all looking dazed and confused... ... no answers for Hamilton pressure.... yet again Bucknor beat like a drum, for long TD pass... 31-0 at the half. Good Bomber plays...moral victories. Bombers left it all on the field, that half.... ...at least as far as leaving a mighty stench... Not as much pressure from Blue front 7 Westerman....a notable exception, anyways... Early 2nd drive capped by Veltung TD catch... Bombers make 2nd half adjustments....on one side of ball. Bomber D...starts to pick it up... Back to back INT's... ..but O simply can't do anything with it ..attacking with plays you could time with a sundial... Willy down again ...leaves game....holding his knee.... ..while some Blue fans wonder, why he was still in... Marshall at RB, looking pretty good... Veltung needs more playing time... Brohm not getting it done(again)... ...you could time some of his passes, with that sundial... Marve finally gets in.... ... and no longer a virgin....Robert picked for 6.. 38-8 Hamilton... 4 turnovers lead to 28 points...... Bombers just seem to evaporate, against physical teams Good thing... that gin evaporates much more slowly...

Still too many special team breakdowns......under Tracy...

O'Shea was a pretty mentally tough player.......but this team is, obviously not cast in his image...

Rod Black AND Glen Suitor calling tonight's game
do or die replied to The 3rd Scrivener's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
In all the longstanding and ongoing angst about Black....easy to forget how bad Suitor is... Terrible crew. -
24 penalties.....absurd.
-
Smith is a gamer, albeit with a very average arm. Rider back 7 on D....is not very good. The LB crew is just horrible. But the Riders biggest problem may be the multiple mental mistakes and penalties from veteran players
-
Unreal arm... His first game against Montreal....he throws a 35 yd deep slant to Tommy Scott, and you could hang your heavy wash on it. I was in awe. Of course another game, he throws a quick slant to Scott, who is not watching - ball hits him in the back of the head, and practically cold ***** him...... Brock woud throw the ole quick square out pattern, but they would be 15-20 yarders to the wide side - ball would get there before the defender could react to the break....bloody near impossible to stop. Caught some passes after practice, from Dieter - still have a slight cavity in my chest, to show for it. Brock would then kneel down, and throw spirals into the endzone.....from midfield!
-
Not too many, to avoid us all being "boxed in"........

Weak sauce.... This brought it, back in the day
