  1. Grigsby is still evolving, while shaking off the rust, he has tools.....perhaps the blocking (with a competent coaching staff) will pick up....
  2. Lucky the Riders have a few weeks to iron out the wrinkles.....before they face the Western titans... Winnipeg and Edmonton.... This really calls for gin....
  3. Inconsistent.....is his middle name....
  4. Actually not a bad situation for Henry......he has no competition behind him, and team expectations are not through the roof... Burris might do pretty well in this scenario....
  5. Yup, sometimes have to walk across the bridge.....instead of peering under it....
  6. Well, WBBB had Willy pegged from the get-go.......
  7. The one thing that bugs me about Woods is his ability to run into traffic.....
  8. Time for some traffic signs: Stop: Ragging on Turner....the club isn't Pining for Import kicker - is a square peg in round roster hole Putting Kelly on the same paragraph with Milt Stegall is patently absurd
  9. What I like about Grigsby....is that we see another facet of his game, every week. Pehaps more consistent blocking is next. One thing....I really like backs who lower their pads on contact and fight for every yard.....
  10. Want strippers in Montreal. ...crying next..
  11. Previous regimes would of given Banks some milk and cookies...... Then made excuses for him...
  12. Cut the cord....looking like the ole law of diminishing returns
  13. We just need to treat these guys, like they are an expansion team......and make them feel like it. Via a severe beating......
  14. Just contain Henry Burris.....if you get to him early, he may morph into Hank....
  15. Yeah, we have never had guys, in the past number of years "handling it badly"....... Must stamp this stuff out, early and decisively......cut our losses and move on.....
  16. Well, Watson has proven, that he can ball (when he is in there). Poblah? Hardly.......
  17. Rid of Popp? Hell, he may be coaching this team again, soon.....
  18. The knockdowns (and hard hitting) is reflective of this improved secondary, this year.....
  19. Aways liked Higgins better as GM as opposed to coach. However, when your best pure passer is Alex Brink..... In related news, the Higg threw Smith right under the bus, in Montreal media, today.....
  20. Ottawa at Winnipeg If you wanted to consider a weekend as a season....then Ottawa might be the 2nd best team in the East, at least. For whatever that is worth. Ottawa O has some potential...the rest is a mystery. Bombers appear to have made big strides in QB and Coaching. Secondary, OL, RB, and receiving corps have made strides as well. A loss to Ottawa would be a giant setback.....butf the Blue D holds their form, from last week, and contains Burris, all should be well. Bigger crowd at home will help jump start the Bombers to 2-0. Take Bombers by 10. BC at Montreal Glenn struggled with picks, last week ....but BC generaly has the organization and coaching to make the required incremental improvements. The Als O right now...is a mess.....fired first OC before season started....Smith is shaky at QB, players are sulking on the bench, along with some questionable coaching schemes. Higgins just threw T. Smith under the bus, in the Montreal Gazette. Best pure passer on roster is probably Alex Brink. Popp might be coaching this crew (yet again) sooner than later. Take BC, even on road... by 10. Hamilton at Edmonton Speaking of mess....Ticats game against Sask, last week. Austin does not believe in running the ball. He should reconsider, or at least design an moving pocket O which enables Zac C. to get to the hashmarks, with throw/run option. In practice this may not be easy, as Cats may have the worst OL in the league. The traditional lack of discipline (17 P) doesn't help, and they have holes on D. Edmonton is improving and playing with some gusto. Take another West on road...by 7. Sask at Toronto Argos are not as bad as they looked in the Peg......but just don't like the match up between inexperienced Argo D....and Sask's best OL/QB combination in league. Ricardo will have to generate plenty of O, to keep Toronto in this one. If Argos struggle with penalties/turnovers again, or RR can't get it going....this could get ugly. Bottom line...pretty hard to pick any East team to win, at this point. Western sweep, Sask by 10
  21. You'r right overall....but there are some degrees between "inconsistent"......and "terrible". For a 30 yr old QB Smith seems to have problems executing the most basic of fundamentals, throwing the ball. The lousy O scheme, certainly didn't help. Yes, hiring a HC who hasn't coached in 5 years and a OC with virtually no experience, whatsoever, to some extent..... does set up some players for failure. Not sold on Marsh, but we may see him, soon enough. Brink to the rescue!
  22. We have some "perceived depth" on the OL, and better coaching/teaching on staff - but it is still a work in progress. We don't have enough proven (so far) assets to start dealing any OL, yet.....
  23. Montreal is finally finding out what we already knew.......life is tough without a frontline quarterback.
  24. ...and who gets some credit from the coach. Part of the deal is encouraging this kind of attitude....and repressing some other kinds. Our last number of coaches couldn't seem to get behind this concept, or impose their will to ensure it.
