Head coach - Who do you want and why?
do or die replied to Mr. Perfect's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Pretty sure that one way or the other.... Bombers are not going for the "experienced" option at HC. Given that scenario... O'Shea is a name, I hoped would come up. We can make fans happy (and finally have that de facto QB coach), by giving Jones the shot as OC - the next logical step in his career progression. Bottom line, this team has simply had a giant void in leadership and the required attitude, needed to win. If we are going with a "comer", I just have a gut feeling that O"Shea could change up the vibe, round here.... Of course, we could simply retain Burke, Creehan, and Marcel ......save some dough, and wallow in mediocrity, or much worse....for for the next 10 years..... Bring on the comers...... -
Jeremy O'Day to be interviewed for Bombers GM
do or die replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Like "great week of practice"......."exhaustive search" has made it onto my Bomber list.... of phrases to be banned...... Currently considering "on the cusp"..... -
The total ineptitude of this organization.... to find and develop young QB's continues, it seems forever.......we finished investing 3-4 years on Elliott, Brink and Goltz....and currently end up with Boltus.... Gawd... That said, playing Boltus in short yardage/red zone situations.....is yet another clear reason to dump the HC/OC, moving forward....

Why hasn't Tim Burke been fired yet?
do or die replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Betting on Walters.....nice, tidy, cheap, already in the house.....none of that strenuous, exhaustive search stuff..... Hope I'am wrong... Btw...as far as waiting almost a month to determine Burke's fate....the Bomber braintrust might want to clear up this "interim" mode ASAP....for if this drags on much further. ...they will have to start worrying about more and more "interim fans" -
Why hasn't Tim Burke been fired yet?

Yup, particularly when we have such real good practices....... -
They should be playing it......when the Bomber O is on the field....

"True Colours" article in the Sun

From top to bottom, players and coaches.....we have created an entire culture of excuse making, round these parts. -
Tom Higgins interested in Bombers GM job
do or die replied to gbill2004's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Why conduct a thorough and exhaustive search for the best possible GM...... when you already have the good ole inexpensive options, "in-house"? I mean really...... -

What some folks fail to realize is....that at this point....firing Burke is no longer an option. It is a prerequisite. That is....if you actually want to create some sort of "new attitude", round these parts ...and are simply tired of this guy's excuses, his playing "not to lose", the lack of leadership and purpose, the failure to take any responsibility whatsoever, the inadequate preparation for games, the unsound on-field decisions, and finally......his standing around along the sidelines, looking like Huckleberry Hound, after Clementine dumped him yet again....... I know that I am. Never mind Monday......Burke should be fired, even before the sound of Saturday's final gun, fades into the night. -
We do have some young talent....but: It will be interesting to see the (potentially negative) effect on them.....by riding out the rest of the season, with the present staff, particularly Burke....
-
Everybody has to share the responsibility.....that includes Burke Unless anyone really thinks T.B. has done a bang up job, as a HC, this year....beyond the wins and losses.
-
Yup, after 4 years Buck is finally gone and we get to suffer with the rookies.......which of course is a major reason Mack is unemployed, right now. Actually, Burke is being blamed, for a number of things....beyond that. Hey, he's either responsible for the personnel on the field or he isn't, so which is it? Generally, the HC has a major input, in personnel decisions......unless we buy the theory that Burke was/is just a helpless puppet/victim of Mack. Burke IS responsible.... for maximizing the talents of the existing personnel on the field, overseeing the activities of the assistant coaches, making needed in-game adjustments, making the correct in-game decisions and providing a motivational/leadership example for both the staff and the players..... How would people grade him, on those?

If after 3+ years....you are afraid to let Goltz throw a pass, in a situation like that....then there is no reason for him to be here. Bottom line.....need 1 point, with 25 seconds and a time out, to work with - any other team in this league.....is going to give it a shot.
-
Watching our lack of adjustments, overall, the way we use Ford, and the overall kitty-bar-the-door approach..... Not sure I can handle 6 more games.....with this coaching staff.....
-
You are 2-9 and need ONE lousy point to win....and time for at least 3 plays....and you take the knee, at home? To head into an overtime, where the other team has all the momentum, and your D is gassed? Just gutless. Enough excuses.....the losing mentality round these parts, simply starts with this head coach.....
-
So from the start of the year.....Goltz goes from #4 to #2 (Brink, Elliott chopped), then to #1, (Buck hurt) then down to #3.....briefly a #2 behind Hall.....Back to #1....then a #2...finally this week, back to #3. Of course, this is with 7 games still to go...... Comedic. In retrospect...if it wasn't for my upcoming shoulder surgery........
-
Prefer just about any lineup, that doesn't include Cauchy Muamba......this guy is simply the defensive equivalent.....of Brock Ralph.
-
Even back in the pre-season, Burke looked and talked like a guy who was way over his head, as a HC. Frankly, at this stage......nothing has changed.
-
Boatman is right on the top of the list......of guys who just have to leave, right off the top.....
-
Hey, my arm is almost as strong as Hall's. That said, we have to go with Max Factor....at least he will make some reads and get the ball off. Goltz looks completely overwhelmed mentally, and is seriously regressing, at this point. All we see from Justin is bad decisions, bad throws, and bad ball protection. If all else (Hall) fails....we can start yet another "era".
-
Ok, found one: Bob: Bombers bumble their way, right out of the gate. Mike: Horrible 1st Quarter, down 17 nothing. Leroy: With this O, the game is already over. Tad: Cauchy Muamba stinks. Bubba: Jovon should hang it up. Mike: Goltz has no pocket poise whatsoever. Joe: My arm is stronger, than Max Hall's. Bob: Boatman wouldn't make a good pool rack Tad: Nice O playbook, would take 2 mins to read Tom: That Do or Die fella, gonna have fun with this one Leroy: Does he really drink all that gin? Harry: Does he really have any choice?

Bombers moving to the West next year
do or die replied to sweep the leg's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Great.... We are a western city. Period. Our great history and tradition lies in the West. So, how long will it take us to fire up the ole rivalries with BC, Edmonton, and Calgary? Try about 5 minutes. To say nothing of the utter craziness, we'll have going on with the Riders, as a actual division rival....... As far as this "tougher division" stuff.....we just have to wipe our noses, hitch up our pants and get on with it. -
Washington .... been boosting this guy, since early last year......great speed, instincts and a pretty good hitter to boot.... Markett .... Banjo Bowl was his big coming out party....as far as actually making plays Wild ...... every week, this kid just looks more and more..... like a serious football player...... Turner .... when healthy and in beast mode (like Sunday).....he sets the (relentless) tone, and creates opportunity for the entire D.. Dunn....coaches are solidly in his corner, during his learning curve.... H. Muamba - takes some flack, but with the right coaching, can/will be a ratio busting fixture.....very few MLBs have his range and quickness... Some young building blocks......all right.
-
If he can even just elongate the phrase "look out" a bit..... he's an upgrade on our right side of the line.
