Hey, I thought Mack would bring in some good coaches, then eventually "fix" the QB position..... Instead we have the most poorly coached team in the league and have wasted almost 4 years riding the BuckWagon....with no future QB in plain sight..... Shame on me.....will have to drown my sorrows.....
-
At least Hall can make reads and make some reasonable decisions......he starts next week.
-
I meant moving forward.....from this week.
-
Coaching is the problem? Water is wet.
-
Beast: Edwards Bumbs: OC, DC, Dunn Frankly, the only way to make this trainwreck of a season, somewhat worthwhile.........would be to keep chopping, and bring in some real coaches, moving forward.....
-
Enough of all this angst.... Lets get some much needed relief....and just admit that we will never develop a QB of the future......thrown in the towel.....and run with Buck, for another couple of years.. After all, we really need to justify all of the time, we have wasted, so far..... In related news.....glad I can still consume alcohol on-site....

Listening to our coaches........somehow reminded me of the search for Spartacus...... Burke has looked (and in particular, sounded) right over his head from the get go....and why anyone would care about, or want Crowton's input, on anything, at this stage.... is a complete mystery. Hall (his boy) is really about the only thing that could save his bacon. We cried about not hiring experienced CFL guys.....and end up with Walters as GM. Interim GM, Coach, and QB.....to hell with Ottawa....perhaps we need an expansion draft. In the micro......getting Washington's size/speed in the d-backfield, will help, benching Morley - bout time......Watson would be a huge addition.

Report Marcel Bellefeuille Being Brought In As A Consultant
do or die replied to Jpan85's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Crowton has now been here almost a year and and half......and now we have to bring in MF, to prop him up. Have real trouble believing that Marcel is here just to hand out the cookies, and whiteboards...... -
I hear you......had to take a few deep breaths, to avoid the O+S being one gin-fuelled rant..... The Blue looked like a bunch of kittens, out there - no intensity, while being pushed around, up and down the field, on both sides of the ball.. Total garbage.....might as well play the rest of the home games at Brady Road....and save 200 million dollars.

Opposing Qb Totals The Last 3 Games...
do or die replied to Mr. Perfect's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Watching veterans like Stewart, Suber and Jovon, completely breaking down tonight.... was embarrassing.... -
Yup.... I have been ragging overtime, on our offensive coaching.....but at this stage...cannot see any aspect of this club, that looks well coached...period.
-
At what point do we forget about calling the team "immature".....and simply call it "badly coached"?
-
Is Crowton is going to "tailor" this offense, to provide Goltz with a workable game plan? As opposed to the junk, we have see so far, with Buck?
-
Still a quarterback driven league. We invested a couple years of development on Brink and Elliott.....and cut them both. We went boldly forward..... with our chronically injured veteran option "gives us the best chance" in Pierce..... in a offence "tailored" for him by Crowton (no, I am not making this up) Goltz better be the deal.....or this QB thing, will simply cost a lot of people their jobs, moving forward.....sooner, than later.

In the late stages of a close game, your coaching staff has to have some attention to detail...... Wanted to concede safety, but didn't get the call out to the field Burned 2nd timeout, on something that wasn't going to be overturned Poor time management on last series, lost probably two plays Didn't have the short yardage team (Joseph) ready End up with horrible deep handoff from shotgun Fail.

According To Burke, Buck Is The Starter
do or die replied to rebusrankin's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Some of us....can peer into the future...... The Bomber Report - July 26, 2015: In a surprising turn of events, it now appears that Buck Pierce, will be the starting quarterback on Tuesday night, against the Ottawa Red Blacks. According to Bomber head coach Casey Creehan: Mind you, some Winnipeg fans may be a bit uneasy, after watching Pierce depart the stadium early last week, in a ambulance. But Creehan makes no bones about it: Creehan added that: As far as the game plan against Ottawa, In hope of kick starting the struggling (25 points in 4 games) Bomber Offensive Coordinator Kerwin Bell will look more closely at his package: -
According To Burke, Buck Is The Starter
do or die replied to rebusrankin's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Well, we began the year....with a veteran QB, and a offence supposedly "tailored" for him by Crowton. We were promised better pass protection and a more balanced offence (more run game) Now.....in 16 quarters of play..... we have had 1 good quarter, and 1 ok one, on offence...... Still running some sort of finesse blocking scheme, with this great big O-line, very little drive blocking to be seen. We cannot stretch a defence, attack the edge, or convert 2nd down situations. No coherent screen/draw game. Our veteran QB simply loses composure, as the game wears on...... Massive and complete fail. Ok, we did address some of these issues.....by "unleashing" Buck....to the tune of 6 points, in just under a half of football....... Oh well, we can just ride that ole Buck-O-Rama...... until Crowton, Burke, and Mack......fall right off. After all, Goltz might go in there and make some bad decisions and turnovers, and get worse as the game goes on, or something. Can't have that. ps....Ricardo threw some balls short of the marker....but hits the receiver right on the money, in full stride....easier to YAC, that way.. When is the last time a Bomber receiver didn't have to turn the other way, dive, jump, or stop.....to retrieve a ball? Too disgusted to continue, right now...... -
Argos @ Bombers Gdt -- Game Day: We All Play
do or die replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Congrats to the Argos.....the score flattered the Blue. Toronto had a great game plan on O, superbly executed by Ray....but the most disappointing thing, was the way we got beat at the LOS. Other thing, the last couple of weeks.....still a quarterback driven league.....watching Burris and Ray vs Pierce.....total mismatch. Alternative Thread Title: Game Day: We all Pay -
In the past, the old Buck thrived.... on moving the pocket, improvising, and maintaining a threat to elude a rush, for a big gain. Really don't see any of those attributes, right now..... Now I understand, that the coaches (and everybody else) is real concerned with Pierce running the ball. But, running an offence with the "new" Buck as strictly a pocket passer.... simply highlights some of his major weaknesses - not picking up secondary receivers, telegraphing throws, and holding onto the ball too long...... So the question..... Is Pierce physically able, at this point......to do the things and play the style, that he has had success with, in this league? If the answer is no - better fire up Goltz.....right now. If the answer is yes - better replace this OC....real soon.

Yup....the meds started to kick in......

Gdt: Calgary Stampeders @ Montreal Alouettes 12/07
do or die replied to Chaosmonkey's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Calgary won....but didn't look real impressive. Actually Glenn did a pretty good job of making chicken salad out of something or other. Als still having real problems with their OL reads, when trying to throw down the field...and AC goes down at the drop of a hat, these days....... -
This front 7, simply reflects Burke's defensive philosophy.....real quick guys who can lineup/move all over the place. Some plays in that game, that were not "meaningful", but spoke volumes, about the improved closing speed, we possess on D: 1. AC throws slant pattern in red zone - to back of end zone, C. Muamba is right on receiver's hip - we kept getting killed on that place/play last year (Logan) 2. Couple of throws into the flat....Washington disengages from his man, faster that you can say "Demond" and snuffs them right out... 3. H. Muamba makes tackle on both sidelines.... in same series. On one of those plays, sheds two blocks..... One way or other, we have to get Sears in there.....because he has speed, and more importantly.... brings the serious wood - the kind of player who keeps opponent's heads on a swivel..... As far as JJ......he is over 18, and knows the score.....he has been fine at DB.... but also knows Sears will be ready soon. Jovon would rather have Sears come in at OLB, and needs to play at a high level to ensure that......sure that Parker and Dunn are aware, as well. Ongoing competition makes this a better team.
-
Loved watching the Bomber DT's "floating" along the LOS....and combined with the other stunts/twists, completely screwing up the OL calls for Montreal....opening up plenty of lanes to get to AC..... AC is far less effective, these days, when you can flush him out of the pocket early.......has problems throwing on the move, and goes down at the slightest possibility of contact.....
-
O was pretty good in the first half, but negated to some extent by turnovers.....as the game wore down....we got more of this playing not to lose on O, featuring poor decisions and throws by Pierce, poor blitz pickup, and the ever incredibly shrinking playbook...... We are simply not going to hold everybody to 11 points a game.....really have to pick it up on the offensive side of the ball. As far as these turnovers.....Bombers have to go home and take some footballs....and shove them right up their keisters...leaving them there, till morning......
