  1. Pretty sure our team signs these guys telling them they could go if they have an opportunity. Otherwise some of these guys may not even give it a shot.
  2. 3 imports on the o-line sucks ratio wise, but January and the two new imports are our best linemen. Let's just hope they play like it.
  3. Change is sounding good to me. We are deviating from the definition of insanity.
  4. Right Guard? Roberts didn't need a good o-line to play well.
  5. I'm not sure how my post was taken as I thought Will Ford did punt returns...but okay. Was just saying that even though we had players in place that did a decent job, and even scored a TD on a kick, Woods is that much more of a threat in both aspects (punt and kick returns).
  6. I hope they are looking for a Woods replacement....at least until Woods comes back. I know Will Ford brought that kick back for a TD...but he's no Aaron Woods.
  7. Do I think he is a good running back? Absolutely yes. He is very shifty and has great vision. Also can shed tackles. He has great patience to wait until a hole opens up and then hits it with pretty good speed. That said. I don't think he is the be all-end all. His style of running is very much predicated on a great offensive line. The Bombers were able to disrupt his running by sending blitzes. There were too many times where he sat back behind the line waiting for something to open up, but the blitz got to him first.
  8. Yeah. We don't need him.... One would have to assume that he would have no interest in coming here. Winnipeg isn't a place for people with options sadly enough. I honestly think he'd have a lot of interest in coming here. Unfortunately I don't think the Bombers would be interested after just adding two receivers Wait what? This isn't Mack we're talking about. We would scoop him up in a heartbeat. Even Mack would sign him given the opportunity, actually.
  9. Maybe Glenn was inconsistent. But ever since we let him go, our QB play has been consistently bad. Grass is always greener...
  10. Weakest arm I've seen...Russ Michna. He couldn't even throw a hitch pass without it bouncing.
  11. I'm not 100 percent certain that he doesn't have a CFL caliber arm. There were definitely some floaty passes, but I think that's him getting proper arc and throwing it to a spot. The interception on the one to Etienne, that had quite a bit of fire on it, I believe. The long bomb he severely under-threw is cause for a concern though
  12. Never thought I'd see the day where we go after an ex-Ticat DB. How low have we sunk? Not saying it's a bad move but...
  13. A beautiful site just got more beautiful.
  14. ^^^ Awesome username. Forgot about that guy.
  15. But I thought Sleepy Joe Mack was off in the states somewhere not doing anything at all? It's kind of funny how fan perception can change so quickly.
  16. To be fair this is a message board and ideas are going to be flying around a lot. Doesn't necessarily mean that it's one person's god honest opinion. It's just a discussion. But you're right, there is a lot of crazy ideas being thrown around right now.
  17. I think Burke has pigeon-holed HIMSELF as a defensive head coach. Every time someone asks about the offense he says he will ask someone. Well, I think he has about lost the right to complain when someone else is making offensive decisions, sad to say
  18. I'm not sure there is any coach in the league that would let a QB develop from how he played last week. It was pretty abysmal. If the quarterback has shown that he can move an offense and is just making rookie mistakes (an int here, a gaff there) then I think you have to give them more time on the field (that's why I kind of liked Elliot). Goltz was straight up missing wide-open targets. He did not look good at all.
  19. Given that I can see why they are going with Hall this week.
  20. Don't agree. That last game Goltz was about as putrid as QBs come. Missed a ton of passes (even some medium passes that should be routine) and overall looked more frazzled than Pierce out there. A lot of people around here have anti-Pierce goggles on. I still don't like Pierce as a #1 option. Just don't think Goltz should be there right now.
  21. Part of me is okay with Buck being second. Goltz had his shot and he was pretty terrible. More learning to do there. A lot he can learn without being starter.
  22. Looking at Fraser's list of draft picks, with the exception of Muamba, Mack has always gone for potential rather than what can help us now. Sometimes going off the board, sometimes not as much. In the end Mack needed to do more for us *right now* than look towards what a player will do for us 4 years down the line. Now I know I've argued before about it and have been told that there is no such thing as a safe draft, so I'll digress a little bit, but it also goes that it was Mack's philosophy to build our team from within and wait for players to get better, rather than going out and getting a sure thing. You can also argue that the "sure thing" 's are not always the best choice. But I think it is the attitude of the entire organization that we need to be striving to be better *right now*, and that will trickle down to the attitude's of the coaches and players as well. There needs to be a confidence among players that they have been assembled to be a Grey Cup winner, not a Grey Cup winner a couple years from now. Maybe the lack of that ideology is what is really hurting us and why a change was necessary. Also a quarterback, we need a quarterback.
  23. I have a feeling this is a precursor to a trade happening. We couldn't release Buck Pierce. We would only have two quarterbacks. So as of right now he is in a player-coach role for this team. If we are trying to wean this team off of Pierce, what are our options? We have to get another QB in fast. So either we sign a free-agent and put them on our practice roster or make a trade. If a trade gets made, Buck would have to be released at that point. I could see this happening.
  24. Yep, good example.
  25. Two good moves in one. Get Buck helping Crowton design an actual CFL offense and have Goltz run it. The former might be the move that garners the most success...
