  1. Lmao. His agent sounds like he doesn't believe what he's saying about his client
  2. Not sure luck has anything to do with it. We had a need and we filled that need. Mourtada was kicking at a high clip right before we replaced him with Castillo. We brought Castillo in so we werent taking any chances. Were starting this year better than we did last year from the kicking standpoint and Im not worried that we will be able to sign a capable kicker if Mourtada doesn't pan out.
  3. I wouldn't worry about kicker. Last year we went with Legghio as the guy for both jobs. We ended the year with no concerns at kicker. kicker might be the easiest position to fill. Kicking in the CFL is more or less the same as other leagues.
  4. This is what I was thinking. We were dominant for the large majority of last year. This year won't be quite as easy. Im a firm believer that 2nd year CFL players take a huge leap from year 1. So some of the depth guys we've had that had some playing time last year could just be waiting to take that next step. Casey Sayles, Kelvin McKnight etc.
  5. Out of everyone we've lost so far I'd say the biggest hole has been the departure of Stove. Everywhere else I feel confident there won't be much of a dropoff
  6. Was kind of hoping Petermann would come back here
  7. We needed to make a splash at receiver and Ellingson fits the bill. #1 or #2 receiver I don't know if I care. We are a very balanced offense with a great QB and o line Fill the rest of the gaps with scouting. We're in good shape
  8. Andrew Harris has all my respect. But I think he's a prime candidate for salary that can be saved with minimal drop off in play (Oliveira and Augie can do the job). I'd be much more upset if we decided to keep Harris and let Oliveira walk.
  9. Oh no doubt there's a difference but we are talking about reaction. And I distinctly remember many members here were not happy with signing Jefferson because of his showboating and being a Rider
  10. Probably similar to when we signed Jefferson
  11. We were pretty dominant this year. Not sure about 2019. We were a great team but I didn't go into every game with full confidence that eventually we would crush them in the 2nd half like this year. But whatever, I don't think "dominant" has a strict definition. 2019 we did it differently on offense. It was our run game that defined us. Of course, when we had zero passing game (streveler) it was a lot more difficult to run the ball. That's why Nichols or a new on the scene Collaros was able to get us the cup. 2021 our offense transformed quite a bit where we are now relying more heavily on our passing game. We still run the ball well but 2019 we were un-cfl-like in how much we ran it. Of course with our revamped passing game we needed a good passing QB. And we still need it IMO. I don't think we can go back to that run heavy offense with the personel we have. Plus I don't think Buck will want to.
  12. Maybe we should be focusing on an under-the-radar rotational Canadian player in FA? Seems like a shrewd pickup Walters would make. Just can't let our Canadian depth get depleted too much
  13. That and we routinely drop multiple linebackers into coverage. And it's easier to do that if the d-line can make the stop
  14. Unless there is someone big available at FA then yes I agree. I've not thought about losing Collaros much because it just seems so dark of a timeline Everyone would love Burnham
  15. Agudosi, Blake Jackson, and Cam Meredith are pretty good prospects for us, I think.
  16. Weren't they running a bunch off tackle in those games with DJ Foster? There wasn't a lot of film at the time and I think we were partially out-game-planned.
  17. Can't sign everybody back. So focus on our leaders and Canadians. Can fill holes in free agency (not everyone gets a big deal) and scouting. Canadians are not easily replaceable. Leaders like Bighill, Bryant and BA are not easily replaceable. Certain guys that are veteran and versatile aren't easily replaceable (like I said before, Darby is someone I'd like to bring back). So all that being said were probably going to have to fill some holes at DB, maybe a receiver and DT.
  18. With Lucky making 200k its going to make it that much harder to sign our own guys for reasonable deals. F***
  19. Live and die with our defense. Our ends, biggie and BA. We already have Nichols under contract who is arguably our best cover guy. IMO those are the priorities. I also really like Darby
  20. Thought that to be extremely likely yeah
  21. I have not. I started following him on Twitter about a month ago because he gives no shits lol. Especially hates Hulk Hogan which is a lot of fun.
  22. There was some twitter activity that makes me think the two Jeffs have something in place already. It's just a feeling.
