Don't we need a kick returner though?
-
I have to believe this isn't far from the truth. We are going to want guys who can cover but what is more important is our dominant defensive line and linebackers. Meanwhile guys like Taylor and Maston are probably a bit underrated.
-
Wonder if the Taylor and Maston signings were indications that Sayles wasn't going to sign here. Can't sign them all. Kind of sucks losing our cover half-back though.
-
We got our QB baby. Just need Harris back (and I expect him to be) and then let the rest of the puzzle fall into place.
-
Love the physicality Maston and Taylor bring to our defensive backfield.
-
This is kind of bow I thought things would go after the break. There must have been a lot of talks with players, agents and coaches and now Walters is implementing his plans piece by piece.
-
He'll get more playing time this year. Exciting
-
Hooray. Keep em coming
-
I'm interested to know what we've already done but haven't announced. Sometimes management keeps these things close to the chest.
-
This is all in retrospect though. Just to be clear, I am very invested in the Bombers winning every game.
-
IDGAF what our regular season record was. I only want to crap on the Roughriders and bring home the cup.
-
It's Walters guys. He works hard. I'm not worried

These intergenerational talks are so futile. There are so many variables. Maybe I was the next Wayne Gretzky but I put next to no effort into doing so? Maybe Wayne Gretzky would have hated the demand that hockey brings these days and decided not to play. Circumstances change, people can be more/less successful. Seems silly to argue about it. Or maybe it's fun, I don't know

Should be really interesting come tomorrow when players can re-sign with their clubs
-
I might give you BA as an A given his leadership abilities. Stove you could be right at B. It's really difficult for me to gauge DTs and I think Drake was "the man" so maybe Stove needs to fill his spot. McAllister gets a lot of unwarranted praise. He has proven nothing. Maybe he has potential? We have Jefferson and Jeffcoat so his importance to me is very low. Losing Rose and Sayles it was important to bring in the next high skill DB so that's why I think Josh Johnson will be very important to us. That said, it might change given there will be other players out there to sign come February. Exume and Gauthier are top special teamers that have played a significant role for us.

Ranked A, B, C by priority. Just for fun. Expecting to be told I'm wrong. I'm also not saying that C level players won't get signed. Just like A level players may NOT get signed. Quarterback Sean McGuire (I) B Running back Andrew Harris (N) A Fullback Mike Miller (N) A John Rush (N) C Receiver Rasheed Bailey (I) B Nic Demski (N) A Julian Feoli-Gudino (N) C Janarion Grant (I) A Kenny Lawler (I) A Daniel Petermann (N) A Lucky Whitehead (I) B Offensive line Stanley Bryant (I) A Geoff Gray (N) A Jermarcus Hardrick (I) A Patrick Neufeld (N) A Cody Speller (N) A Defensive line Tobi Antigha (I) B Jackson Jeffcoat (I) A Alex McCalister (I) C Steven Richardson (I) C Jake Thomas (N) B Linebacker Jesse Briggs (N) B Brandon Calver (N) B Shayne Gauthier (N) A Thomas Miles (N) B Kyrie Wilson (I) B Defensive back Brandon Alexander (I) B Kerfalla Exumé (N) A Josh Johnson (I) A Chris Lyles (I) C Mercy Maston (I) B Otha Peters (I) C Nick Taylor (I) B Specialists K/P Justin Medlock (I) A LS Maxime Latour (N) B LS Chad Rempel (N) B

Ahh I haven't been paying much attention to CFL news lately because, quite simply, there hasn't really been any. Sucks we lost Rigmaiden. He was definitely a big part of our management group. Good luck to him. Good thing we still have Danny Mac and Ted Goveia under Walters. We're still strong, just not as strong.

I used to think that
-
If we traded Laine I'd want a top 2 center, a penalty killing skilled 3rd line winger (the kind of guy that can play up on the 2nd line in a pinch like Copp) and a 1st round draft pick at the very least. I think we need those things more than we need to trade for a top defenseman. We at least have some good defensive prospects and could potentially find a guy on the free-agent market. Top 2 centers don't generally shake loose.

Not a gem of a game by Murray. Always dangerous but a lot of questionable throws. Should have had 4 ints
-
Murray 3rd pick of the day. Probably projecting his problems a bit on coaching decisions ha
-
Strev sighting. 4th and 1, false start. Tough to say if it was strevelers fault but the commentators were bashing the decision to take Murray off the field. And Murray had words with Kingsbury after

You have no idea the money involved in the contract. So why exaggerate? The team is looking for a commitment to run the team during very uncertain times. One of the only positions you are getting value from right now. You're right that there likely aren't many GM jobs out there. But on the other hand, who is going to come in and do as good a job as Desjardins? Do you think Desjardins can't find a steady job elsewhere? Maybe it won't be the GM of a football team but he will likely land on his feet. How can you justify paying equipment managers right now anyways? I think even the equipment managers are going to understand that. And they've been collecting a paycheck up until now.
-
His contract expires in December. I can't see why he would work without a contract. Can't say I know much about union workers, but I'm not sure what the big deal is about negotiating a new contract. Things are not status quo so I could see why both parties would want to be clear about what they are signing up for.

Could be right about the pay raise. Maybe not. Optics would probably be worse if a team didn't have a general manager. It still has to look like we're playing next year.
