  1. This seems fairly reasonable to me. But I worry that Nichols might be just good enough to not win the Grey Cup. Every once in a while you need your QB to be able to handle some pressure and make a play moving around the pocket.
  2. There were a lot of people whining about Collaros coming here too. Masoli threw for over 5000 yards last year. Has the ability to extend plays. Was really coming into his own. There's a lot to like. Football IQ.. Hard to quantify that
  3. I feel like starting qb money is at least 450 at this point. Also guys aren't lining up to be a backup qb for the Argos
  4. Deep passer yes. Probably because he has a stronger arm
  5. I think part of it is that Zach knows he can buy time and evade a guy before throwing deep if he needs to. If Nichols is pressured he is going to get rid of it
  6. They haven't been calling any objectionable conduct this year. In the not-so-distant past they would be calling taunting for 99 percent of the plays in that game (or any game this year for that matter). Whatever, if they are consistent about it..fine. But as soon as you start smacking other guys around after the whistle that should definitely be a penalty.
  7. Collaros is just getting better and better . Last couple of games he made some questionable throws. None of that today. The only thing he could have done better was hit Darvin on that bomb to seal the victory
  8. Objectionable conduct used to be a thing. I think the only time it gets called now is if someone says the N word and the refs know who said it
  9. That and regardless of throwing motion didn't he end up throwing it backward?
  10. Maas and Harris are two peas in a pod. Completions don't win games!
  11. The answer is they probably can't. But one wild card is that they are really good at getting pressure from their front 4. That said, Dane Evans was able to beat our pressure in the games against us. Hamilton Imo is the favourite for the cup. They have been rock solid all year
  12. Trevor Harris is pretty good at beating up bad defences and is pretty good at throwing completions and settling for FGs against good defences. I don't think that will be enough to beat Hamilton
  13. The greatest win was the one last week because it's the one that could lead to our first Grey Cup in 29 years.
  14. 2007 grey cup was definitely the most disappointing one for me too. I sat outside in the snow for a good while. I felt like I was stealing warmth from the snow on account of feeling so cold inside.
  15. This game could be determined by which officiating crew shows up. The ones with the black and white stripes or the ones with the green and white stripes.
  16. Yep that's how it looked to me too. Calgary receiver decided he had no shot at the ball and put on an acting performance of a lifetime. Sucks to be essentially gifted a 60 yard touchdown on that.
  17. We were very effective when we had Nichols/Streveler. Now we look pretty good with Collaros/Streveler. IMO Nichols is smarter and makes quicker/better reads but there's something to say about escapability and pocket presence that Collaros has over Nichols.
  18. Fajardo has been their magic this year. Without him... Yeesh
  19. Lapo's offense is generally: Deep TD pass Run (misdirection pretty often. Various players involved) Check down to the running back There is very little 10-20 yards down field passing, which is usually when passes get picked off. So in that way it looks conservative. But generally it's just smart mistake-free football. Thats why in a good game you only see about 200 yards passing. So in that way it was mission accomplished for Lapo and the offense.
  20. Mosaic will definitely give the Riders more than home field gave the stamps. But like I said in another thread, I felt like Calgary was more our equal than Sask was this year. They squeaked out victories at home, one without our star running back on a last second FG. We crushed them at home. Our 2 QB system again could be the difference in the game. If Fajardo is anything less than 100 percent I don't see how they can make a dent in our defense.
  21. I would rather face a newly returned Kamar Jorden over an Eric Rogers who has repeatedly killed us.
  22. It's going to be a tough road. Against the Stamps it's hard to rely on your defense all game, so I'm hoping that with the addition of Collaros and having some designed runs for Streveler we can do enough on offense to pull this one out. It really seems that these two teams match up quite well against each other and that a few plays separate them. It could be a special teams play that decides this game. The Roughriders are not as good as Calgary but they'll be almost as tough an opponent playing within the confines of Mosaic. If our defense plays well, we can generally hold Sask to few points. They've only had mild success offensively against us all year: Final drive of the Labour Day classic, and some crazy fortunate plays that ended up in the hands of Shaq Evans (he is a good receiver though). On offense it is key to limit turnovers. Putting up 20+ points probably wins this one. Hamilton...the only thing that makes me think they won't win the Grey Cup is if Dane Evans has a true rookie moment out there. But who knows.
  23. But he was under contract? So at the very least the team had to either be sympathetic, or agree that he should leave.
  24. Okay yeah I was just wondering if there was some rule you were referring to that you can't PR a vet. But you really can't PR anyone without their permission.
  25. Can't he be PR'd much like anyone could be PR'd? (ie. they'd have to accept being put on the PR, otherwise they are released)
