  1. The answer is they probably can't. But one wild card is that they are really good at getting pressure from their front 4. That said, Dane Evans was able to beat our pressure in the games against us. Hamilton Imo is the favourite for the cup. They have been rock solid all year
  2. Trevor Harris is pretty good at beating up bad defences and is pretty good at throwing completions and settling for FGs against good defences. I don't think that will be enough to beat Hamilton
  3. The greatest win was the one last week because it's the one that could lead to our first Grey Cup in 29 years.
  4. 2007 grey cup was definitely the most disappointing one for me too. I sat outside in the snow for a good while. I felt like I was stealing warmth from the snow on account of feeling so cold inside.
  5. This game could be determined by which officiating crew shows up. The ones with the black and white stripes or the ones with the green and white stripes.
  6. Yep that's how it looked to me too. Calgary receiver decided he had no shot at the ball and put on an acting performance of a lifetime. Sucks to be essentially gifted a 60 yard touchdown on that.
  7. We were very effective when we had Nichols/Streveler. Now we look pretty good with Collaros/Streveler. IMO Nichols is smarter and makes quicker/better reads but there's something to say about escapability and pocket presence that Collaros has over Nichols.
  8. Fajardo has been their magic this year. Without him... Yeesh
  9. Lapo's offense is generally: Deep TD pass Run (misdirection pretty often. Various players involved) Check down to the running back There is very little 10-20 yards down field passing, which is usually when passes get picked off. So in that way it looks conservative. But generally it's just smart mistake-free football. Thats why in a good game you only see about 200 yards passing. So in that way it was mission accomplished for Lapo and the offense.
  10. Mosaic will definitely give the Riders more than home field gave the stamps. But like I said in another thread, I felt like Calgary was more our equal than Sask was this year. They squeaked out victories at home, one without our star running back on a last second FG. We crushed them at home. Our 2 QB system again could be the difference in the game. If Fajardo is anything less than 100 percent I don't see how they can make a dent in our defense.
  11. I would rather face a newly returned Kamar Jorden over an Eric Rogers who has repeatedly killed us.
  12. It's going to be a tough road. Against the Stamps it's hard to rely on your defense all game, so I'm hoping that with the addition of Collaros and having some designed runs for Streveler we can do enough on offense to pull this one out. It really seems that these two teams match up quite well against each other and that a few plays separate them. It could be a special teams play that decides this game. The Roughriders are not as good as Calgary but they'll be almost as tough an opponent playing within the confines of Mosaic. If our defense plays well, we can generally hold Sask to few points. They've only had mild success offensively against us all year: Final drive of the Labour Day classic, and some crazy fortunate plays that ended up in the hands of Shaq Evans (he is a good receiver though). On offense it is key to limit turnovers. Putting up 20+ points probably wins this one. Hamilton...the only thing that makes me think they won't win the Grey Cup is if Dane Evans has a true rookie moment out there. But who knows.
  13. But he was under contract? So at the very least the team had to either be sympathetic, or agree that he should leave.
  14. Okay yeah I was just wondering if there was some rule you were referring to that you can't PR a vet. But you really can't PR anyone without their permission.
  15. Can't he be PR'd much like anyone could be PR'd? (ie. they'd have to accept being put on the PR, otherwise they are released)
  16. Has anyone heard anything new about Oliveira? I thought he was getting closer to a return. Or have they shut him down?
  17. Yes that is clear indication. SMH. Not going to argue whether he is actually good at reading the field and passing the ball (he seems like he's always getting better). But wasn't the play selection fairly similar with Nichols? I seem to recall a lot of running the football. It's not Streveler's fault that he gives us another option running the ball.
  18. For me, when we play Calgary, they are Eric Rogers. It usually comes down to how much we can limit him.
  19. Well if you can't see the difference between Ottawa and Edmonton at the start of the season VS now I'm not sure what to tell you. BC is a better team now but without Reilly they aren't.
  20. Yes BC has been bad all year. Losing Reilly may not have changed the outcome (you'll never know) but it certainly makes it exponentially easier. Every team is going to play more or less the same teams but when we were playing BC, Edmonton, and Ottawa they still had something to play for. Edmonton and Ottawa were even considered good teams when we played them. So I don't think it's the same thing at all.
  21. Are you sure about that? I seem to recall a 3 way tie we were in that we ended up on the bottom despite having the season series against one of the 2 teams
  22. It can never be 100 percent fair based on the structure of the league. Every year is different. A team could get an easier schedule every year. Look at the east haha
  23. This has a lot to do with it Imo. Every year a team gets a softer schedule based on uncontrollable circumstances. Edmonton was a good team in the first part of the season. Now not so much. Riders now get them twice.
  24. We handled Montreal fairly well. Just like we should have handled them in the first game but decided to not cover their receivers in the 2nd half. With our defense on the same page we made Adams look average. The only team that actually scares me at all is Hamilton. They will probably win the Grey Cup, if I had to guess. But I'd put our team right up there. When we're playing our best we are better than Sask and Calgary. But unfortunately with losing our starting qb, losing our starting RB and going into a mini slump, and taking the pedal off against some not so great teams, we likely won't have home field advantage throughout the playoffs. And in football that is huge. Im just hoping that with our run game and defense forcing turnovers we can get it done in the playoffs.
  25. Amazing
