  1. What is this the 3rd time already he's pancaked a lineman? Guess he's hungry
  2. Yeah that's the only other way I see it..
  3. Bunch of guys will have to make the team on ST. Likely how Augustine will have to make it with drafting Oliveira
  4. Line doesn't needing backing I guess
  5. D line sounds dominant. Any of the Canadian guards stepping up at all?
  6. Excellent comments guys. Keep it up
  7. Sounds like Matthews and Whitehead have been real standouts so far as far as newcomers. Any DBs standing out? I'm also worried they didn't bring in enough competition for the Wil spot. How is that looking?
  8. As someone who is away and can't attend training camp, thank you all for the comments and reports!
  9. I really liked Gaitor at SAM. He was born to play that spot imo
  10. Isn't this basically the story of a successful team? All of the bad teams want our good players and are willing to pay them well above what they may or may not be worth. See: Chungh, Loffler, Santos Knox, Fogg. Not bringing back over the hill vets that don't make enough impact: See Wild, Leggett. Randle being a shutdown corner isn't quite accurate anymore. We brought in 2 known upgrades and are filling holes in the lineup from within the organization: See Calgary basically losing an offensive lineman per year and being not being overly active in free agency. So we're a good team then?
  11. Ehhh it was never going to happen though. Chungh and Loffler were both gone. Rosters turn over based on the salary cap and you just have to be prepared to replace them with guys in your system. It's what Calgary has done for a long while and what we are now doing.
  12. Taits article on the offensive line left me feeling pretty confident in what we have to replace them
  13. Not much sample size. You're right about that. He's also gotten in and done absolutely nothing with his opportunity. I'm all for the guy proving me wrong. I was actually a Bennett booster after his first year with us (and wasn't too happy we let him go to Sask). But at a certain point you gotta start showing you're #1 material before they replace you with the next #3 QB. That doesn't usually happen in games but is evaluated in practice. So that's why I think he's far from a lock. Highly doubtful we'd give up on Streveler anytime soon, and we need to constantly be looking for the next guy.
  14. Years of being in the league
  15. Bennett is not a lock at #3 and he knows it. That is why he was out yesterday. Being able to play ST is nice but if you can identify a QB that could be a #1 one day, then you have to keep them around. Bennett hasn't showed much from that standpoint.
  16. No media reports from today? Edit: https://www.bluebombers.com/2019/05/15/rookie-camp-day-1-recap-2/?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
  17. Troy Westwood was talking on the radio about that line when you're a veteran being asked to help out the younger guys. He was very much on the side of "he's here to take my job, I'm not going to be very helpful".
  18. I'm hearing sarcasm but I'm not sure why. Having a hometown boy that was in the NFL come back is a huge win and a huge story. If you're talking about non-football fans paying to go to games, I don't think there's a single player that would do it.
  19. Jones is the incumbent for sure. But he has far from won the position IMO. But I can also see him as a not-every-down starter.
  20. 3 NI ol. 2 NI receivers. Harris. Just means you have to start 1 on defense. Situational between a lineman and safety?
  21. Edit: n/m
  22. Being able to play ST is going to be very important to making the team. We need to be better there this year
  23. Yep well have enough size in our receiving core this year. Just took replacing Dressler with Matthews
  24. Oh damn Bryant Mitchell is even better than Matthews in my book. But we likely don't have money for that anymore
