  1. Yeah right now Lulay scares the heck out of me. Sending them to the crossover would help
  2. We are still far from assured a playoff spot and it will be up to our team to get one. We can't really back in
  3. Edmonton winning brings that nightmare scenario where we can finish 10-8 and out of playoffs. I think I'd rather the Lions win. Plus, if BC wins and we beat Calgary next week, then we are playing an Edmonton team that is already out of the playoffs. I'm still hoping for 2nd place in the West.
  4. A lot can change between now and the draft. Our needs could change by a lot
  5. Have to hand it to the Riders defense for straight up winning them some games because now that other defenses have caught up the Riders look like they should be the team not making the playoffs
  6. Really don't see how Chung doesn't come back. He's already signed an extension before and things are still going pretty good
  7. Listened to his interview just now and he sounds like Doug Brown. Not a bad thing.
  8. Normally I'd agree with you with an NI VS Import but Bighill has been that damn good of a player for us. He makes a difference every play and makes everyone around him better. So when you say it's not even close, I don't think that's true. In fact, Chungh and Bighill will likely get similar salary. And if that's not a gauge of importance to the team, I'm not sure what is Gotta think they are two of our top free agents. We must sign both
  9. No help today on the out of town scoreboard. Calgary has no bullets in the chamber on offense. Are they getting any of their receivers back for playoffs?
  10. He's looked horrible ever since the TD. But even before that they had a good run game going. Now even when he's getting decent protection he doesn't want to sit in the pocket to make a throw
  11. If the Als secondary gets their heads out of their asses they could win this one. Feel like Sask will win by the skin of their teeth again though. Hopefully I'm wrong
  12. I know our D has been good lately but I didn't fully think we had this in the bag until 9 minutes left in the game. I figured Mike Reilly would pull off some miracle and our D wouldn't be able to keep it up all game. Boy was I wrong. This was a defensive gem.
  13. Hardrick and Dressler back will make a huge difference. I see us winning big against Montreal. The real test will be the following weeks
  14. I'm telling you, a reset Matt Nichols after the bye week against a basement dweller like Montreal could be exactly what the doctor ordered
  15. We take a knee and kick field goals instead of throwing pick sixes and we take the banjo bowl in a walk
  16. Could have quoted any of the last couple posts. We shouldn't be so down on our team. Realistically we will be the favourite
  17. Really? I don't have any doubt we can beat them and we should definitely be favoured to win. Sure we are in a "funk" but in our last 3 games we've lost against one extremely hot team that we probably should have beat both games but gave away.. And Calgary. Rest of the season won't be easy but we are a better team than Montreal. C'mon now
  18. We weren't being touted as one of the best offenses at the start of the year? People forget pretty fast around here
  19. But I do think at full strength Nichols will have enough weapons and support that he won't have to be Ray. That's when we'll get hot
  20. True but they were a 9 and 9 team in an extremely weak conference. Nothing special but got hot at the right time.
  21. Basically. I think Nichols is playing to the pressure from the media right now. A good QB that is really forcing it because things are not going well for the team.
  22. Toronto was good enough last year to win the Grey Cup. Now look at them. Proof that being hot at the right time is the only thing that matters.
  23. Even the previous game we were a few blunders away from winning. The record will show 2 Rider victories..and good on them. But honestly I still think we are a much better team overall when healthy.
  24. The sought after gem may have been shrouded in Nichols worst decision making game of the year leading to many points against. I'm not going to completely disagree with you. The Banjo Bowl was given away by our QB1 But I was mostly referring to stealing games from good offensive teams. We've seen plenty of times this year where our defense has looked good against bad offensive teams. Trying to post a defensive gem against the best offensive teams in the league has usually led to late game collapses. Our D isn't good enough to win those games on their own.
  25. It isn't a coincidence that we've lost 4 in a row against teams with the best defenses in the league. Our team isn't that bad but it doesn't have the firepower right now to compete with those kind of teams. I think most would agree that we have 2 Americans, Adams and Dressler, that are top tier receivers. When either is out we are basically hooped. And with our o-line being partially decimated, it doesn't help either. It's not all on Nichols (although this past game he made some awful choices that directly contributed to the loss). At the start of the year we were pretty happy to say that we had 2 good qbs. Nichols, not a world beater but pretty darn good with a good team around him. Streveler is just chalk full of potential but needs time. I don't think much has changed there. Our defense has been pretty good but they cant' seem to quite post the same kind of "defensive gem" that Sask or Calgary can. We are still in good position to make the playoffs. Hopefully we can get some players back to win some games and get that crossover.
