  1. He turned it up several notches
  2. If this hasn't been mentioned... This is what a good defense can do to keep you in the game if your offense isn't getting on track
  3. They're cutting down on the explosion plays by allowing 15 yard mini explosions down the entire field
  4. Can't see how we can be so concerned about our rookie Qb more than our inability to make any plays on defense lol
  5. If the defense could make a stop in the 2nd or 3rd quarter maybe our rookie qb could get some traction. Being held off the field for 5 minutes at a time is tough
  6. Fair enough. I'm not arguing that there are QBs that can run and pass. I'm just having a hard time thinking of a guy that could run as fast as he can (period) with his size and willingness to truck a DB. Maybe I'm getting a little too excited and showing some bias...he just seems to be on another level running the ball from other QBs currently playing.
  7. I can kind of see Kerry Joseph as a good example. Mike Reilly has great escapability but to me doesn't run like like Streveler.
  8. For the record I said speed AND size. Edit: He is listed as 6 foot. He always looked small to me. Streveler looks and runs people over like a linebacker.
  9. Example? Just curious. I may have forgotten.
  10. I'm not sure Streveler is a QB that will consistently throw for 300 yards because he will legitimately run for 50-100 yards a game. I'm not sure the league has seen someone that can run the ball with his speed and size at the QB position. Shouldn't that at all change how he is ranked? I guess we'll see as the year goes on.
  11. They are in danger of not winning a game if Ray is out. Good thing for them a one win season probably gets them second place in the East.
  12. Be more athletic, Willy. It's true though, he is not great once he feels uncomfortable in the pocket.
  13. Probably but by how much? Willy was not given a steamboat most of that last game. Hard to evaluate a qb like that If we're talking overall passing game yeah... Sask is leagues better Oops that was supposed to be an edit
  14. Probably but by how much? Willy was not given a steamboat most of that last game. Hard to evaluate a qb like that
  15. Should be a fun game. You're right, this isn't the sad sack Montreal Allouettes. Don't see Timmis as much of a factor. I could see them throwing swing passes all day to try to get away from our d-line/linebackers. Get the ball in the hands of their speedy playmakers and test the talent of our DBs to come up and make a tackle. They handled Edmonton fairly well. Should be a really close. The other games next week are looking interesting too. OTT @ CGY - Two teams that are coming off big wins. Gotta think the winner of this game will be the top of near the top in the power rankings. BC @ EDM - Rested bye week team coming up against an already beat up Edmonton squad. Does Edmonton slide to 1-2? MTL @ SSK - Sask should be the favourites by quite a bit here. Dud of the week.
  16. Very related to the title of this thread. This is the first time in a long time where I feel like I could put a namebar on a jersey and not have to worry as much that they'd be gone next year.
  17. We have depth at every position now, with the big surprise being at QB. QB: When Nichols comes back he will be leading a team with Streveler and Bennett behind him. Streveler has shown he could be the next big name in the CFL and Bennett was not too bad as well in garbage time. RB: Harris, Flanders, LaFrance, Augustine.. If Harris goes down we still have Flanders who has proven to be a pretty decent back. WR: We went from having Darvin Adams and Weston Dressler as solid contributers to having 5 guys that can contribute and 2 backup Canadians in Simonise and Peterman that can contribute if someone goes down. This was an enormous change this offseason. L'Damian Washington and Chris Givens who??? O-Line: Without Travis bond we are still rolling and we have guys like Couture and Spooner waiting in the wings. Huge improvement at receiver. Surprising huge improvement at QB. As for the defense... D-Line: 2 games where we've been consistently getting at the QB. If Mike Reilly wasn't made of magic, they would have been feasting. Craig Roh is our inactive player in this group. That is saying something. LB: Big improvement with Bighill and Fenner. Santos Knox is making a name for himself and Ian Wild is there as a big contributer as well. DB: Maybe the weakest part of the team. I'm still not fully convinced we have completely solved our issues here. Didn't get challenged in Montreal, got beat on 50/50 balls against Edmonton. That said...they may not have to be world beaters if we are controlling the line of scrimmage and the middle of field. Huge improvement at LB, including depth. Overall talent on the D-Line has gone way up. We're rotating in some really good players. DBs just need to keep things in front of them and this unit will be solid. I'm pretty excited about this team. It's not just hope. The depth is obvious. And it will serve us well late in the season.
  18. I believe that's from IASIP. Classic
  19. Leggett in for Lankford (like getting an extra DB in the lineup, too) Wild in for Wilson Lafrance in for Augustine I think those are all big improvements. Two impact defenders coming into the lineup and I'd imagine that Lafrance contributes a lot on specials...
  20. So just crop out the last 5 minutes.
  21. Or edit it to make it look like we won.
  22. The complainers are going to whine because they don't have much better to do. If you don't care for the topic then don't respond. If you are a moderator then feel free to sort things out as you see fit. I don't think we are in danger of having too many threads on this board.
  23. All teams play to win. They kept Jennings out there so that he could get a taste of success. Our D team won the first half. BC needed our E team (and Rifles players) to finally get on track.
  24. Ross has shown the ability to make reads and distribute the ball much better to run a full offense. Strevler is much more raw but has ridiculous speed and confidence. Starter will be Ross but Strevler will get some snaps imo
  25. That is the real truth. A proven starting QB is the only thing that would trump a starting Canadian oline man. Bridge is not a proven starting QB at all. When you are giving up a commodity that at best is "potentially a good qb", you're not going to give up a proven starting Canadian olineman. That's why usually the return for a qb like bridge is a high draft pick
