  1. Positives: -4 teams with 3 wins -4 teams with 2 wins -Saskatchewan Nobody is out of it yet.
  2. Defensive line starting to really shine. Good talent in the secondary... Could use a bit of an upgrade there. Lbs also look decent. All in all the defense is looking pretty good. JBR in another thread pointed out that we run too much zone close to the goal line but otherwise the defense played well.
  3. And there's no reason to say one way or another if Waggoner is worth that or not. Goosen was a top 3 pick as well and he is currently not starting. Don't know why that is depressing
  4. D seemed fine to me. Turnovers and short fields led to points. Can the defense be better? Of course. We lost this one on special teams and not being able to move the ball and losing field position
  5. How do you deeply analyze this **** show? Lol
  6. This is one of those character defining games coming off a close loss. Enough said
  7. Even with Devin Tyler at tackle we still look to have a very solid lineup this week. No excuses.
  8. You gotta think that if we are 3-2 after playing away games in Sask, Edm and Calgary...that should be considered a success story.
  9. This year everyone seems to be beating everyone else; even Calgary is very beatable. If Burris is hot, Ottawa isn't a speed bump either. Can't think of a single team this year that would be an "easy win" or a "for sure loss".
  10. I think what you're talking about is confidence and veteran leadership. Calgary has a lot of it. We have some but can take a couple more steps. Maybe that extra bit of confidence nails the field goal at the end of the game?
  11. Why would Dunigan need to lose his accent? That's part of what makes him who he is.
  12. Wonder how long before Richards is a starter?
  13. The clock stops on change of possession. Sideline doesn't help. You go up field and get down
  14. I agree. The tempo of the offence at times has allowed defense to regain their balance. You almost know before the snap if the play is going to be successful just based on the timing of it
  15. I actually do like O'Shea. I think his players play hard for him and he's a steady voice in the locker room. I like Walters as the GM in the management sense. Also like his drafting so far. I'm a little concerned about our import talent though. It seems like we are finding steady players but need to be finding more impact players
  16. Every week the defense has gotten better
  17. Are you really going to rope off the first 5 games of last season? How about the Banjo Bowl, or the other Rider home game with 2 late game killing picks? Drew had a fantastic start to 2014 then he was brutally average or worse.I can rope it off because our offensive line went to complete **** after that. nothing changed. nadda. zilch. Willy won with that offensive line, then, he threw stupid mindless picks and lost a tonne of football with them that same year. What changed was Willy getting knocked night in and night out. He handled the hits early on but what QB is going to be rushed and take hits the way he did and be successful? He was getting hit before the ball even got back to him at times. Point is he proved he can be clutch if he's not being consistently dragged through the mud. The guy clearly had skills and ability to get it done if his team isn't cropping the bed around him

  19. Could be. We may have a better idea by the end of the season. The last minute of the game felt Lapo-like. Could be. We may have a better idea by the end of the season. The last minute of the game felt Lapo-like.We've had too many LaPolice/Rheinbold/Burke moments of late and the scary thing is that Willy sure as spit looks like he is regressing. How does he look like he's regressing? Lmfao. Calgary has one of the best pass defences in the league.. He did rather well did he not?The things people chose to try and claim around here at times..When Willy's game deserted him last year, his biggest failing was his inability to handle blitzes and folding in crunch time. That's pretty much what happened tonight.Uh. I saw him handle the blitz really well up til the last play of the game with the int. not sure what game you were watching. He either tossed it away or dumped it off for small gains.. He also made some great throws in the face of it too. Great retort. Willy was fine until he threw a game killing interception... or didnt call time out on a drive killing penalty. You either have it in the clutch or you dont. Right now, Willy is not a clutch guy. When the pressure is on he gets worse. That's just fact. Will it improve, God I hope so. It's his 2nd year as a starter but hes' going to be 29 in November. He's actually past his prime in football years. Or entering the final stages of it. Wow it's these kind of comments that make me wonder. Early last year that is all he was. Clutch. He won some games where it looked like a certain loss. This game he drove the field and got us within a field goal of winning. The loss of down was stupid but something that shouldn't happen again. Regardless he got close enough for the field goal and it was missed.
  20. Agreed. He played looking to prove something today. If he uses his brain next week he'll be fine. Veltung would be a decent alternative though.
  21. Wasn't it a 52 and didn't he miss it just wide with plenty of distance? His long range is money normally.. His mid game tho, wowzers. Yeah I believe it was 52 and he probably could have made 58. Wide left
  22. At what point does glacier-like speed of improvement become no longer acceptable when several other teams have proven that you can turn a crappy team into a Grey Cup contender in two years? Why can't we be a Grey Cup contender this year? We are 500 with both of our losses coming to the teams that were in the Grey Cup last year. The first loss with our starting QB out and this loss by a single point with 4 turnovers. It's so early in the year but it feels like people have already had enough of this regime
  23. I know people are pretty peeved at this loss. Some positives though. -We had a 16-0 lead over the Grey Cup champs before a terrible fumble turned the game around -Defense came to play. There was some good coverage out there -Offence has shown to be pretty consistent -The catch and run by Addison Richards. Showed his speed, hands and a little bit of power taking the Stampeder defender out. -Darvin Adams coming out party
  24. I agree it's a shitty loss. I think we're going in the right direction. Ultimately the wins vs losses will decide that though
