Is he? I didn't watch the game but people who were watching the stream said he was inconsistent.I trust the coaching staff whatever they do will be the right choice.
And Portis was downright not very good from my vantage point. Inconsistent beats out consistently not very good
There's different criteria for a 3rd stringer/developmental QB than a starting QB. I agree with previous posters who say that Portis may have the upper hand on the 3rd spot because he's committed to the Bombers. Why develop a guy, who's in a developmental roster spot, who will be gone after this season?
Because Marve can contribute to our offence right now. He is not just a developmental player.
I didn't really see him do much other then that 16 yard run. But when you're spreading 17 carries amongst 5 guys it's hard to judge. Anderson only got 2 carries and Cotton didn't show well, but again...3 carries or so, hard to say. Our best rusher last night was Marve.
To me he seemed to run with good power and vision. You are right about the limited reps though. It's really tough to judge.
FWIW the only RB that somewhat impressed me in the running game last night was Cam Marshall. Pretty sure I missed when Anderson and Cotton were running though.
While the offensive line wasn't going against Toronto's 1s, they did an admirable job I thought. At one point I think it was Tyler, Griffiths, Goossen, Everett and Lewis and it was still working.
I just overall want to see the defense defend the run better, the offense run the ball better (systematic stuff) and that a couple of players really stand out here and there.
There's nothing ethically wrong about cutting him. Was it a smart move though? General consensus is probably not. Seems like a rash decision by a new coach trying to put his stamp on the team. We'll see how it plays out for him.
He's a kicker. Don't really see what the problem is with his age until he is unable to kick. BC had basically crapped all over their ratio for no reason.
It's possible both make the team in some capacity (one on the PR). I wouldn't be surprised if Mike Willie ends up leaping Tunei (if he hasn't already). Again, it all depends on the games
Is Tuinei falling down the depth chart?
I don't know about falling down, more like getting pushed down.
It can all change in the pre-season games. But Jhomo definitely seems to be swaying the popular opinion.
Gotta think that Darvin Adams has about locked up a spot on this team the way that he's looked in camp. Gordon possibly leading the way for the next import receiver spot.
I was there.
Me too. That downpour was nuts (the game was almost cancelled due to thunderstorm) and I wasn't dressed for it. Was shivering the whole game and there was nothing to cheer for.
Love the depth this year. At almost any position we can afford to lose someone and it seems like there is a very qualified player to take their place. Not trying to jinx it or anything...
