  1. Boston bombers... were 'self-radicalized' nutjobs. Not funded or trained by any terrorist group. Just a couple kids who had some real messed up beliefs that resulted on the tragic killing and maiming of innocents. But they were also kids from an Arabic nation so they were practically painted as card carrying members of Al quaeda, motivated by a hatred of western beliefs and religious zealotry. If these guys were religiously motivated then so are yor lone nut jobs that 'aren't Christian no matter what they say'Let's forget the motivations for a sec. How about gun violence in general. How many lives are lost to gun violence in the states every day? Compared to lives lost to acts of domestic or international terrorism? There have been 300 mass shootings in the US in 2015 alone. There have been over 900 mass shootings in the US since Sandy Hook. I don't claim to know the motivation behind every last one of these shootings, but I sincerely doubt they are all random. So I ask you guys, are these mass killers terrorists? Or only the ones named Faruq?
  2. Not at all what I'm saying. Not sure how you came to that conclusion. Someone on here suggested that 'we know what they mean' when we hear 'terrorism' ( that being radical islam) and that 'radical islam is doing all the killing'. Maybe if you're terrified of anyone from Arabic nations and you ignore all the other reprehensible acts of politically or religiously motivated violence that takes place literally every day in the US then you might have a point.
  3. Looking outside our own back yard, who can forget in 2011 when Anders Breivik killed 69 people in cold blood. While not considering himself a devout follower, he identified as a 'cultural Christian' and his attacks were motivated by hatred for followers of Islam. His manifesto borrowed excerpts from America's home grown domestic terrorist Ted Kaczynski. He praised political leaders who pledged to wage war on Islam or were seen to discriminate against people from Arab nations. Worst loss of life in a single day in Norway since WW2. He was definitely a terrorist. Robert Dear killed 3 people and wounded 9 others in his attack on a Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood Clinic. Politically Conservative, religious enough to read the bible cover to cover, definitely not a radical Muslim. In fact, of the 77 successful arsons, bombings, stabbings, shootings or acid attacks inflicted upon such clinics in the US since 1997, none have been perpetrated by radical Muslims. They've all been terrorists, though.
  4. Edit Wasn't it reported he had personal family issues to attend to?
  5. The benefit of having a GM who is 'in tune' with the CIS?
  6. I think the plural form of elk is still just elk. So when I hear 'welcome the Edmonton Elk to the field' I would half expect a solitary hoofed mammal to exit the tunnel. Not intimidating at all
  7. I guess I'm in the minority on this one but I think the logo is an improvement over the old one. As a tiny thumbnail the CFL is prominent, and 'blown up' in detail the maple leaf is clearly still a maple leaf. I'll consider myself lucky to actually like something that's new. Does that mean I'm not old yet? Hooray!
  8. Is TSN broken? Never mind back up now
  9. I like the new logo and really enjoyed seeing a CFL commercial with legit production value. People didn't see many references to the Bombers? Take a second look. If you miss all the W's, royal blues, and panoramas of IGF then maybe you should ask Santa for Lasik I don't see any one team getting more (or less) attention than any other.
  10. Fallout 4 this week, Battlefront the next. My poor, poor wallet.
  11. What's Mike O'Shea's main flaw as a coach? * inexperience too soft on his players living in la-la land and doesn't get it he has no flaws Haha I love option 4. No middle ground to be found here. EDIT: If you want to expand on your answers, you can email Penton directly. Some responses will get published.
  12. Oh I see. Famous internationally. In this context I was thinking national vs international (or non-import vs import)
  13. Another bad show I had to watch because I was there. Now, I was drunk........so that's good Meh, to each their own. Pop star not to everyone's taste, especially guys but it was the only Grey Cup here that got it right. Brought in a hot international act at the time which is what they should always try to do for the halftime show. Not that it makes a difference, but Nelly Furtado is Canadian, she's from Victoria BC.
  14. It may have been 6-8 weeks to be re-evaluated. Whatever the case there was never any certainty
  15. As RFO said in his acceptance speech, hope makes a good breakfast but a poor dinner. Here's hoping for a solid main course. In the meantime my breakfast is tasting mighty good.

  21. Classy and appreciative without pandering. A very nice final column.
  22. Eagle and Hawk was the name I think Little Hawk
