Watch the first episode or two. You will likely get hooked. The characters pull you in. Won't say much more then that, but their evolution over the coarse of the series was very well done. I trust you Rich! I will add it to the list. Still have to watch Daredevil. Thinking of trying Bloodlines too. If you need a little action now, go with Daredevil first, you won't regret it. As for Breaking Bad, it is fantastic but the pace was a little slow for me.. at first... it takes off, though. Well worth the time.

The Jets are dead. Long LIVE the Bombers!
MOBomberFan replied to BigBlue's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
I'm thrilled to see our city taking pride in the Jets, even if the pride is excessive to some people. Losing the Jets dealt a major blow to the identity/ego of a lot of people in this city. I remember feeling like we got wiped off the map after the Jets left. A lot of things have changed since then. We've got something good going here, the city feels different and people are having fun rallying behind the Jets. If diehards want to adopt a 2-word chant that gets shouted all of once per event, I say let them have it. I don't shout it personally. I'm more of a 'Glorious and BLUE' kind of guy myself, and I have the sense to only shout that at Bomber games! -

The 'True North' thing started out as recognition of TNSE to be sure, but I don't think it has that same meaning today, not entirely. It's like a war-cry for Jets fans and Jets fans alone. You'll hear it at the Bomber stadium every game. It would take a lot of effort and a lot of grain alcohol to reach the level of douchebaggery that many Rider fans have attained. Shouting True North during a hockey game in Brandon is nothing compared to flying your Prider gear on the beach in Cancun. -

Whatever. After years of Winnipeg getting little to no national coverage (and little respect when they did) it's nice to have the media ride our collective D for a bit. -
Whoa, Vega? Really... I also thought for sure he'd get another shot. I actually expected him to have a rebound season now that he is presumably healthy. I'd imagine he'll resurface somewhere. Morley... maybe once the injuries start piling up, if not sooner. Teams can make room for a Canadian vet that can play every spot on the OL.

The future looks bright Jets fans ...
MOBomberFan replied to IC Khari's topic in Winnipeg Jets Discussion
Right, it all depends on what pick they want in return. The Jets threads are full of people talking about how Buff's playoff experience, leadership and locker room presence is such an asset that makes up for his perceived shortcomings. Doan brings all these things, and and is a community-minded player to boot. -

How high a pick? I would have Doan back, if he'd have us back. -

I'm glad we have the Jets back to distract me when football isn't around. Football, CFL in particular, is the sport I'm most passionate about. Thank goodness the draft is around the corner and TC shortly after... I can't wait to see what a conventional D will do for this team. -
No microbrew! And no antiquing! Wouldn't putting you, 17 and Noeller in the same room by definition be antiquing? Very well played...I laughed right out loud. And death to "No microbrew".....we have these awesome stone coasters on the coffee table that say "Craft Beer Only". Isn't there some cool brew pub in Winnipeg that's got a ton of microbrews on tap? I'm all in... Your best bet might be at Luxalune on Osborne. It's a few blocks South of one of the Rapid Transit stations that you can ride direct to the stadium, so it's convenient AND serves over 100 craft beers. These guys are affiliated with Farmery beer in some way. But you'd do yourself a disservice if you didn't stop at the Toad in the Hole in Osborne while you're nearby. Try the pretzel burger!

There there Gbill. In the cosmic sense, nobody needs your reports. But there are plenty of people, myself included, that really enjoyed and look forward to your TC posts. Let's be real here... we all know wild horses couldn't drag you away from TC, so you'd might as well share what you see. It is appreciated, even if you get your balls busted by a couple of schlemiels now and then. They just jelly you get to sit in the sun watching football while they shuffle papers around under fluorescent lights.

Google says he was a 4 year starter at University of Illinois. Undrafted, signed with Carolina in 2011, then the 49ers in 2013. Has got a beefy leg. This is the latest video I could find.

Star Wars has tractors beams... and communicators, in ear comms, voice interface... all in that bald android guy in cloud city!... but more importantly it has light-sabers and princesses in gold bikinis. Checkmate sir.

Yep... no fantasy in Star Trek. Just pretend dilithium is actually a thing, and ignore the existence of the prophets or motherfucking Q, and it is all clearly rooted in science. Considering that virtually none of the technology in Star Trek actually exists, doesn't that make all of it 'sciencey sounding mumbo jumbo'? What actual science is there in Star Trek? I love sci-fi and fantasy alike. There certainly is a distinction. Star Trek is primarily Sci-Fi, no doubt, but it unabashedly borrows from fantasy on the regular.

I don't even think it's the cost, I think someone is going to be unhappy with the lack of work they're getting. Lot of those guys probably went with the idea of being more involved. 'Ottawa some snakes, they lied to (them)' -KG

Is that a Fred Stamps joke? LOL I never stopped being a Hef fan. Good luck to him.

Seconded. Daredevil is the best new show I've seen in a while.

From Wikipedia: -Scott only recorded five carries for 15 yards in 11 games played. -At the NFL Combine, Scott ran the 40 in 4.34 seconds, the fastest time recorded by any of the participating running backs. -In one preseason game he had one carry for a 97-yard touchdown, and in another preseason game ran a fake punt in 65 yards for a touchdown. Sounds like he has some speed to burn and a knack for outrunning every other person on the field. EDIT: the 5 carries for 15 yards in 11 games played was just 2011. Looks like he did start a game or two in 2013 after all: http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/stats/_/id/14087/darel-scott

Didn't expect him to be FA for long.

Dude, you're reading way too much into that. What I'd like to have seen is someone ask Walters 'Is Drew Willy (or some other obvious incumbent) returning to camp this year?' and when he emphatically says 'YES!!!' follow up with 'What about Steve Morley?', only to get the 'I won't talk publicly about a players future' - that would say a lot.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the NFL scrimmage from the 3 yard line on 2 point converts today?
