2022 Off Season - Back 2 Back Champs Edition
MOBomberFan replied to Noeller's topic in Blue Bomber Discussion
Apparently in college he was a 3rd down conversion machine and the go-to for his QB in the clutch. Not at all a speedster from the look of it. Still chasing the NFL, I imagine he's here to 'get some film' like every other NFL hopeful trying to use the CFL as a stepping stone. Looks to me like any other UDFA good enough to have a cup of coffee with a couple teams til he eventually shook loose. That could describe Rasheed Bailey once and he's working out great. Only time will tell. -

I think the people of Haiti are more concerned about their own government stealing from them. The former Haitian president implemented a flat tax of $1.50 for all calls and money transfers into Haiti over a decade ago, and all funds were supposed to rebuild schools and public buildings. Nobody in Haiti can point to a single school built with this money. The poorest country in the Western hemisphere has bigger problems than the Clinton foundation.

Anything else to go along with 1000 yards and 10 TDs? LOL I appreciate the sentiment guys but we only have one receiver like that on our team and his name is Greg Ellingson, and last time he did it he was 5 years younger. Demski, Bailey, Wolitarsky... have never and likely will never put up numbers like that yet they are highly celebrated around these parts. Shai Ross would fit in great around here with his numbers

Yep they are undeniably the least expensive grocery store. I was dragged to Superstore enough times as a child that I never wanted to go back. When I moved out I tried... the prices were far cheaper than Safeway but the produce was hit and miss if it was actually in stock. Bakery didn't hold a candle to Safeway (til Sobeys took over, now it all sucks). I think as an adult I only went back for passport photos... I'll go to Wal-Mart for an oil change (if I don't feel like doing it in the Superstore garage that is LOL). Won't even walk the aisles while I wait. Blows my mind people get their groceries there. I guess I'm lucky I don't have to squeeze my pennies together to make them last.

Haha not likely but I did get the idea from an older fella who'd been working on his T-Bird maybe that's him?

Superstore has been a hellhole since I was a child. Literally the only good thing it has going for it is underground parking... great place to work on my car in the winter

Secret points to be had like in Super Mario... get 6 points if you score a rouge while a 6 shows anywhere on the game clock -
You could employ 1 part-time employee 20 hours a week at $15/hour for 18 months for less than the cost of a single stupid tray on wheels. It had better be bringing in customers

That's crazy talk, you're being crazy

So if I call 911 and say 'My house might be on fire, I think you should come put it out if it is' I'm not actually asking anyone for help? Got it.

Fans pay to see good hockey and players should at least be able to play for pride if nothing else. Tanking is for losers. Last night was a fun game if a little sloppy and frustrating at times. I said when the puck hit the netting 'watch us score now' and we did. Poor Lowry

Domestic assault charges that were placed against Wab in 2003 were stayed by the crown. That doesn't make him innocent necessarily, but let's be clear that these are unproven allegations that GCn20 is referring to. To this day Wab denies hitting or throwing the woman at the center of these allegations (her name is out there publicly in the papers but I'll not put it here out of respect). As for his other charges stemming from fights with cabbies and impaired driving, he has unequivocally apologized for pain he's caused directly or collaterally and has even been pardoned for both convictions. He straight up acknowledges he wasn't a great guy in his teens and twenties and his struggles with alcohol certainly exacerbated it. Since his parents helped him enter into rehabilitation he has reportedly stayed clean and sober and has not had any incidents with the law. He's attended AA as well as embracing more 'traditional methods' involving sweat lodges and fasting. He committed to making himself a better person and so far it seems to be working, in my opinion. A quote: "These are not episodes in my life I'm proud of," Kinew said. "I struggled with alcohol, and that caused me to behave in ways that weren't healthy for me, or those around me. When the alcohol stopped, so did the fights. Violence, racism, and sexism are unacceptable. I've apologized unequivocally, and I do so again: to anyone I harmed, I am sorry. "Because of my past, I understand the challenges of young people in our society who are struggling with the same things I was — alcohol, addictions, anger. I know that they can do better, because I learned how to do better," Kinew said. https://www.cbc.ca/player/play/1048866371651/ Above, a CBC interview very pointedly asking him about the charges when they resurfaced thanks to some anonymous tips during the leadership race vs COVID jet-setter Nikki Ashton

Yes definitely and my hyperbole doesn't help the conversation I get that. I'm just thinking if there is such a thing as lazy optimists then surely there are lazy alarmists out there quick to share unrealized nightmare scenarios for clicks (not to say nature.com is clickbait... hello alternet!) It's fair and accurate for the author to say "there is no predestined evolutionary outcome for a virus to become more benign" but that's only because we do not operate in a vaccuum; demos, populations density, vaccination rates, so many factors contribute. It just seems alarmist to essentially say 'it technically COULD get worse though empirically most don't' but I will (grimly) change my opinion on the matter if we can ID a single virus that persists today that is more deadly, transmissible and vaccine resistant than it was when we discovered it
