  1. The only person sad to see this is probably Cornelius, his biggest booster is suddenly out of a job
  2. https://3downnation.com/2021/11/22/edmonton-cleans-house-elks-fire-presson-sunderland-elizondo/ The board of directors of the Edmonton Elks Football Club has terminated the contracts of president and CEO Chris Presson, general manager and vice president of football operations Brock Sunderland and head coach Jaime Elizondo, effective immediately. FLUSHHHHHHHH
  3. Thank goodness, if they weren't vaccinated the death toll would likely already be higher. This is a reminder that the vaccine is not a 100% cure-all and you can still catch COVID if you are vaccinated, but the symptoms should be less severe
  4. So glad I don't live in that gun-nut infested **** hole of a country. Fly-over only
  5. I'm a Shaq Cooper believer, he had a bad game no doubt but the ability is there. BC just sucks
  6. On-field official Tom Vallesi was fined for the use of inappropriate and explicit language. *** them!!! https://press.cfl.ca/player-discipline-week-15-lajwij#
  7. Some guys like legs, other guys like elbows. I'm a knee guy myself; the elbow of the leg
  8. My understanding is he was found not guilty of the serious felonies but plead guilty to lesser charges of stalking and intimidation... but this was history before his draft day, nevermind his CFL stint. I bet his past was simply overlooked the first time around and, now that he has a higher profile, the scrutiny has ramped up and his skeletons have tumbled out of his closet.
  9. This is odd, isn't it? His legal troubles from college didn't prevent him from playing here before... did something happen recently we haven't heard about? Or was his history just overlooked the first time around? I really wonder what the heck is going on.
  10. Yes it's the vuvuzelas that get to me. I've seen a bugle up in the east nosebleeds, that's my kind of horn
  11. If only they'd give out cowbells. I have a tiny team-branded cowbell... just beat to hell at this point, but it makes all the noise I need and I can still hold my beer (or leave my gloves on as the situation dictates) But they'll never give them out when they sell for over $20 a piece... how many procedure calls could $600,000ish buy I wonder
  12. I wonder who CGY rests, if anyone. I think I'd be stashing Bo on the bench and let Maier take the hits back there. Maier could use reps like any other backup who's team has clinched with nowhere to go in the standings.
  13. I'm partial to commemorative tickets or programs myself. I love my golden ticket from the 2011 game
  14. Everyone there is a Saskwatch
  15. Agreed 100%, the backup needs reps and the starter needs to be protected in games worth nothing in the rankings
  16. Violent guys like Kelly need a lot of help but their egos and general toxicity often prevent them from getting it til they hurt someone badly or end up in jail or worse. It gets worse and worse the longer they get away with it. Kelly did eventually take counseling, but it took being arrested to do it.
  17. I really should get a Switch already. It would be my first handheld gaming system since the original grey brick Gameboy
  18. I am fully ready to see us sit some starters, Zach especially. This doesn't strike me as a team that gets 'rusty' and Zach is the straw that stirs the drink. We can't afford to lose him now.
  19. To this day I'm waiting for a Tactics games from any franchise that can hold a candle to FF tactics... still waiting. In case anyone is confused... the quote applies to the discussion re: scaling tickets based on income... fines of any size aren't a penalty if you can afford to pay it without being inconvenienced. If you're rich enough, you can commit fine-able infractions with impunity. Oh was I speeding again? Opens cheque book How much this time?
  20. Especially in Ottawa. In my brief travels I ran into just as many francophones in Ottawa as I did in Montreal, maybe even more
  21. Like a new Running Backs coach https://ottawasun.com/sports/football/cfl/ottawa-redblacks/insensitive-francophone-comments-running-backs-coach-eger-sent-home-by-redblacks
  22. This isn't "news" but I only just found out and thought I'd share... If you've tried 'Willy Dogs' food cart out you already know they are one of the best food carts around. Well, they have a Willy Dogs kitchen operating out of the Deer Lodge curling rink right next to the St James Civic Centre. Dine in or take out, the observation deck has been lo-key converted into a small eating area overlooking the rinks. They are on skip, but the menu is cheaper if you just call ahead and pick it up yourself. That Big Whistle Burger of theirs is something else... a Winnipeg Old Country hot dog cut up onto a 1/4lb (or more?) smash patty with cheese and bacon... I just about nearly finished mine last night. Highly highly highly recommend this place if you want a burger or dog... or both at once.
  23. Church's Chicken... probably seeing the success Popeye's has had, and wants in on the spicy fried chicken n shrimp market. They get a lot of hip-hop shout-outs being based in Atlanta
