I'd call the $160 upcharge per ticket for VIP too ridiculous. A lanyard, some popcorn, and rush seating within the VIP area is not worth a 200+% increase imo. Pretty sure in 2022 it was maybe $40 or $50 per ticket to upgrade. Oh well, not like I was planning on sitting down anyways Presale started at 10am, presale code BBP24 if anyone wants

Can't wait! LINEUP: Thurs. Aug. 22 – Blue Rodeo, Skydiggers, Indian City, and guests. Fri. Aug. 23 – Arkells, July Talk, The Blue Stones, The Haileys. Sat. Aug. 24 – Headstones, I Mother Earth, and guests. Sun. Aug. 25 – Tom Cochrane, Streetheart, Sass Jordan, and guests. No way I could make all 4 nights work... but that Fri/Sat lineup is KILLER and could still get even better Seen July Talk, Blue Stones, IME and possibly 'guests' but somehow I still haven't seen the Headstones... about time I fix that! Will be my first time seeing Arkells, I like their radio tunes and they get points for playing the 2021 GC halftime show. The Hailey's I get major The Beaches vibes from and that's not a bad thing at all. Local act, too! Will absolutely be worth the money and if the VIP package isn't too ridiculous this year I'd recommend it.

Fallout on Amazon was great. The props, sets, costumes and effects were incredibly detailed and almost totally faithful to the aesthetic of the video games that inspired the show. The gore is intentionally silly without spoiling the action, the doe eyed 'Ned Flanders in the Apocalypse' protagonist bit never wears thin, plenty of comedic actors like Johnny Pemberton, Michael Rapaport, Chris Parnell and others filling out the side-cast and keeping the wasteland fun and wacky like it's meant to be. Between this and The Righteous Gemstones I'm becoming a Walton Goggins fan

I'm no fancy big city lawyer... Asking a coworker out is not harassment. Repeatedly asking out a coworker out even though they turn you down every time probably wouldn't even qualify without more aggravating factors. It's the "reacting violently" (I assume throwing things or smacking tables, slamming doors, physical intimidation like blocking halls and doorways, that sort of thing... not direct personal violence) and cussing her out in front of other employees/teammates that makes for a hostile work environment and constitutes harassment imo. Should have been handled by the bosses when she came forward to exercise her rights, they could have handled things internally and we never would have heard these accusations. Instead they tried to sweep it under the rug and possibly even retaliated against her by telling her to stay home and then not renewing her contract after years of doing so. AFAIK the Argos weren't obligated to renew her contract but it sure smells like retaliation if up until that point there was no reason to let her walk... if anyone should be looking over his shoulder it's John Murphy and anyone else that knowingly infringed on this woman's right to a harassment-free workplace. Section 7 of the Ontario human rights code is pretty clear and easy to understand. These aren't the old days, people have rights in the workplace and they should be taken seriously, and employers should be held accountable when they infringe upon them, knowingly or not (because they should have known if they didn't)

Oh for sure, the bubble has been growing for some time, there could be more to follow. Just that Stone Angel was my Friday after work patio place. Always felt welcome, dirty boots and all. Hate to see it go.

Not sure where the Beer topic has gone so I'll post it here... Sad news for 99% of us, Stone Angel brewery is closing it's doors permanently.

I'm a landscaper by trade but I've been a hobby gardener for even longer. My wife and I are constantly carving out sections of our lawn to make space for more plants. We've put about 15 years of work and experimentation into our back yard and it's still getting better every year. This summer I solarized half my front lawn to make way for a new perennial garden... a section of my lawn has been infested with creeping bellflower for probably 100 years so it is not going quietly, drastic measures were called for... so I took my version of the nuclear option and killed it all off with cardboard and bark mulch. Soon it will habitat for the birds and bees, candy for the eye and food for the soul. Man I love working in my garden. Great exercise too. Can't wait for spring.

One memorable moment of 2009 was Oos catching the ball in open field for a good 20 yard gain. He played enough snaps at FB to have 2 receiving TDs in his career, that's not nothing. I'm not knocking him, I was a big fan

Well over 30 years ago, Sean Millington. I suppose Patrick Lavoie panned out well enough for a 2nd round pick. Lots of successful FBs were late picks or undrafted FAs. Recent noteables like Declan Cross, Calvin McCarty, Alexander Dupuis and Milanovic-Litre were 4th rounders, Rob Cote was undrafted. Nikola Kalinic was an early 2nd rounder but of course he has dashed off to the NFL. I liked Oosterhuis but it's a stretch to say he panned out as a first rounder 8th overall

As usual, Jeffcoat did his band-aid thing and Hansen, a previously critical part of the rotation, was rehabbing 90% of the season. Haba in particular looked good when he had the chance, it is a shame he didn't get more play time when there was opportunity to do so That's sort of what I'm angling at here. The results aren't really in for another few season yet, but I'm not sure there were obviously better players left on the board. I like Bemiy over Bennett but I couldn't honestly argue one is better than the other right now when we need them

Curious, who does everyone feel we should have selected instead of Bennett at 8th and Kelly at 15th? I'm wondering who the 'big get' that we passed on twice was this year. For the life of me I can't figure it out. Uguak seems like the early hit of 2023 and he was gone at 7. Bemiy taken at 9 might round into a better player by the time he's Bennet's age but til then he's currently statistically trailing Bennett and I don't recall him standing out in any big way. Just curious 🤔

Yes I also hope you're wrong about wasted roster spots. I'm willing to wait til the roster comes together before picking out a new whipping boy. I'd only argue the point about the Nationalized rule... there is a benefit to not playing those snaps and its a bonus 2nd round pick, which we did acquire. We do need better Canadians, the extra pick will help. We should have the best players on the field as much as possible though, if that means forgeoing the bonus 2nd rounder we should do it.

I love comedy, the darker and more irreverent the better. Inside the confines of a comedy club or on a comedy podcast where there is an unwritten rule that 'these are jokes, please don't take it seriously', that would have been a hacky toothless attempt at being funny, but at least it is still just a joke. In an email to potential paying customers? ehhh.... pretty stupid and worthy of the ridicule. While they're at it, why not add something like 'have an asian look over your girl-math but don't let them drive you to the game' it's the exact same kind of hacky tired joke that stopped being funny ages ago (if it ever was?) In my experience doing sales... most guys have to check with the wife before signing any dotted lines anyhow!
