  1. Okay the pick wasn't in the red zone... but it was clutch
  2. I'll dig up the replay if I can. Printers had a crazy good MOP season in 2004 with BC and managed himself an NFL shot a couple years later... famously ended with the (I'm paraphrasing) 'you want me to make chicken salad but all you give me is chicken ****' line on Hard Knocks. Came back to Hamilton as the highest paid player in the league. Proceeded to stink it up and whine about it while facing much scrutiny. Limps his way back over to BC's practice roster... bides his time, Lulay gets injured... he becomes the starter... back at the top of the roster where he showed so much promise... and he chucks a pick six in the redzone OT, screams at his receiver, gets cut days later. Ended his CFL career then... he did become a backup for a season in the IFL according to the googles.
  3. Something something economy something something herd immunity something something gravlax and meatballs
  4. Ban people? No, I don't think so. Seems a bit extreme... I haven't advocated banning anyone, I've just asked people stop being so selfish or inconsiderate or dumb or whatever it is... Maybe not driving hours to neighboring communities because they have great deals on kitty litter and diapers. Is there no grocery store in Kenora large enough to support their community? (There is). Why do they have to come to Costco, considering the risk? It just doesn't seem wise to me. I think everyone should be doing everything they can do to self isolate, especially the things that cost you nothing, all you have to do is be considerate and at least think things through - is there a better way? I'm talking about reasonable things like getting gas when you're near E, not when you're passing by the station and the bays are empty. Not popping in to the grocery store a 7-11 for a snack or because you're bored and want to go for a walk, instead waiting a week til you can do a worthwhile shop. Worst are the people breaking self isolation because it's Spring and they're bored. Play some solitaire or dry hump a couch cushion, whatever it takes to be entertained, just do it at home.
  5. Yes the I pay taxes here argument will help when you're fifth in line for the only ventilator in 50 miles I ask again where is the concern for your neighbor? Everyone is sacrificing. Oh but my wasted tax dollars on my vacation property I gotta get what's mine, everything I'm owed and entitled to, even in a pandemic! Are your hypothetical wasted tax dollars more important than the health of the people in small communities?
  6. So you're sitting alone on your dock. Great, exposure limited for the moment, way to go. Did you stop for gas? Beer? Ice? Bait? Groceries you didn't already have in your fridge? You better not be sick you.... Typhoid Gary.
  7. What if (and I'm not taking sides because damn it I want a cabin) someone sick or asymptomatic BRINGS the virus to a small community and starts an outbreak that could have been avoided? Can Winnipeg support everyone West of Thunder Bay if the sparse under-equipped hospitals between here and there begin to back up? Everyone thinks the risk to themselves is so small - end of train of thought. Where is the concern for your neighbors? Not directed at any one specific person just cottagers lol
  8. Deon Beasley. He didn't have an illustrious career but he put an end to chicken **** Printers
  9. Dr Jensen seems very concerned that statistics are being padded to make the death toll appear higher than it really is. He cites to Fox News that if a patient is killed by a bus but also tests positive for COVID the cause of death is listed as COVID. He says this doesn't make sense and I agree, it doesn't. Likewise for violent crimes and gators (lookin at you, Florida). But how much of the death toll could possibly be accounted for by completely unrelated incidents? It can't be that many. If a doctor cannot make a definite diagnosis of COVID (shortages of test kits being a good reason why, a whole other issue) but "the circumstances are compelling with a reasonable degree of certainty"... then it seems reasonable to me that the death be included in the COVID statistics. Making a best effort to report the spread and impact of this disease isn't fear mongering or being alarmist, it's simply trying to show the reality of this situation. Suggesting doctors and nurses are artificially inflating these numbers for personal and financial gain is especially low on his part. Herd immunity comes at a price. Sounds like Dr Jensen is okay with approx 10% of the pop. getting seriously ill (he chuckles about 90% won't suffer more than minor symptoms) and who knows how many of them will survive (should their local health system be able to bear the strain). I'm firmly in the 'let's minimize the death toll, we can sacrifice for one another in the short term and get through this in the long run' camp. Thanks to everyone who is washing their hands and sheltering in place as much as possible. Hang in there everyone!
  10. Family photos of loved ones is media hype. We should be talking about the flu and installing roll cages on every vehicle. Well off to the lake.
  11. I had heard in New York there was a spike in 'deaths at home'; normally 25 or so people died each day but recently this number has spiked ; Monday saw 280 deaths at home, none of which had been previously confirmed cases of the novel COVID virus. These deaths and others like them were not being included in the COVID death tally, and if included the tally would rise significantly https://www.npr.org/sections/coronavirus-live-updates/2020/04/08/829506542/after-deaths-at-home-in-nyc-officials-plan-to-count-many-as-covid-19 I know, who can we trust? NPR and the AP or anti-vaxxer and 'the Feds have no business in healthcare' Ron Paul
  12. Dead people don't buy products or pay taxes. The economy will recover, grandma might not.
  13. I remember the Montreal Expos comic book crossover with Spider Man better than I remember the Montreal Expos
  14. I remember it being crazy loud but I also remember moving on with the game in short order. No mid game ceremonies or interviews, just back to work. Years later when I think it was Geroy Simon breaking the receiving yards record they halted the game to chat him up... seemed silly to interrupt the game like that. My chunk of Milt Stegall TD turf is within arms reach right this moment.
  15. I'm guessing that players won't get paid anything beyond scheduled bonuses, and contracts end normally as scheduled. I'm thinking it will be up to teams to re-negotiate with guys on one year deals and so on. It will be interesting to see how things go down... I'm just hoping for a season, delayed if it has to be.
  16. ^^This is why we hunker down at every opportunity and slow the spread. Be safe everyone. Have you re-watched the 2019 Grey Cup yet today?
  17. The 2011 East Final vs Hamilton had so much. Vega coming in at tight end and scoring a goal line TD... Suber recovering the ball infront if a dumbfounded Chris Williams (the hottest **** in town at that point in time)... Garrett scoring a TD on what was meant to be the last play ever in the old barn... booing Glenn between flask swigs... saving the lives of underdressed Winnipeggers by sharing the wool blanket... good times.
  18. Most of them are. Evidently not all of them cough J5V cough. For your health buddy please lay low and eat canned soup. The devil can wait.
  19. 1000 isn't a lot of people until you ask the families of those 1000 people. Get on board the winning team and let's beat this thing people.
  20. I can only hope we are looking back in this saying 'man we went overboard' because that will mean we did an effective job of flattening the curve and preventing what we are seeing in Italy (bodies overflowing in crematoriums). I'd rather over react than under react. (That doesn't include hoarding)
  21. Ginsburg is 87 and Breyer is 81. Trump controls senate. There is a terrifying chance that he could be appointing another 2 supreme court justices and stack SCOTUS 7-2 with republican appointees that could sit for another 20-30 years. Dems need a big win.
  22. Maybe they'll look back on their approach to healthcare and consider change for the better. They have the resources to be a 'healthcare superpower' the same way they are a military superpower. Just have to sort out those priorities and vote accordingly
  23. I can only hope RATM and RTJ can return together and we won't get some other opening act. I'm equally excited for both.
  24. Of course Rage and Tool come to town and the plague strikes.
