  1. I enjoyed this, starts around 30 seconds in:
  2. Crab Rangoon and I'm out
  3. No joke, strippers in the states are doing food deliveries with a $30 up charge and it's called 'Boober Eats'
  4. The article says the property has 4 buildings. Supposedly the place is a firetrap. $3mil alone to remove clapboard, insulation, replace windows, and reinforce the foundation. Repairs that could or should have been done sooner but were put off by previous administrations that did not want to appear as spendthrifts. The political optics of this are obviously not great on the surface, and because of that I believe the repairs must be critical; surely if Trudeau could put it off til COVID is largely resolved he would. Wish I had 3mil or 9mil or whatever to spend on my less-than-historic but equally run-down St James bungalow
  5. If staying indoors for a couple months causes us to kill ourselves and others in numbers that make a deadly novel virus look like 'spit in a bucket' then we aren't worth saving.
  6. It does terminate pregnancies, yes. COVID on the other hand kills born people (they matter too, after all), and you can't abort people by coughing on them or ignoring social distancing guidelines. False equivalency.
  7. Silly girl. Major false equivalency. Abortion rights protect the woman, the individual; social distancing and vaccination protects the public at large. In summary, swing and miss. Cute though, I'd debate with her for hours.
  8. Lead in the water for 6 years and counting? Liberal propaganda, leave the guns at home Doctors and nurses treating the sick? Fire up the truck and brush yer mullets boys, we're off to fix America
  9. Proud boys in Michigan waving guns and Confederate flags, clogging roads leading to hospitals and blocking ambulances from hospital ramps is just about the most indefensible thing I've heard of so far. The 5G people are crazy, these people are just despicable. https://www.michiganadvance.com/2020/04/15/whitmer-stay-home-order-protest-turns-into-trump-celebration-with-confederate-flags-and-guns/
  10. The new orders build on the current orders, and maintain the gathering size of no more than 10 people at any indoor or outdoor premises. Additional updates include: - garden centres and greenhouses can operate, providing social distancing measures are in place https://news.gov.mb.ca/news/?archive=&item=47544 You get a petunia! And YOU get a petunia! EVERYBODY GETS PETUNIAAAAAAS
  11. Those 2%-3% of children are no doubt patriots willing to sacrifice their lives for a strong economy
  12. Gardeners, greenhouse and tree nursery workers come to mind... for some reason lawn care and arboriculture is deemed essential, as are some garden supply retailers and commercial landscapers... yet a vital part of the supply chain - the very people who buy the most from garden suppliers, and the people who grow the plants landscapers install and garden centers sell - are told to stay home when they should be ramping up staffing and production. There is about an 8 week window of opportunity for greenhouses to turn out plants and fulfill orders at the same time gardeners and landscapers install plants, many of which they already paid for last season when they accepted contracts and placed their orders with greenhouses! An entire industry still awaiting it's fate, and growing/planting season can't be put off til later; any decision made now will impact the entire year (and subsequently next year). Obviously the same can be said for many industries, but with the flick of a pen this one may yet be saved. https://winnipeg.ctvnews.ca/we-re-all-just-hoping-to-survive-greenhouse-and-nursery-industry-asks-to-be-considered-essential-service-1.4880807
  13. I like the UN on paper; Canada's legacy as a peace keeping nation was a great source of national pride as a youngster. Sadly, the UN is toothless when it comes to things like this... a stern finger wagging accomplishes nothing in the face of tight-lipped (or brain-dead) governments. Where is Batman crossing international borders to commit espionage for the greater good when you need him?
  14. They are an agency of the United Nations, with over 190 countries as member states, each with their own delegates. The idea is to pool knowledge and expertise, share information and collaborate towards common goals. I'm not sure it's about authority to demand information so much as an expectation to receive information, and accurate information at that. The WHO is not without controversy, and like any government agency they are only as good as the people that run them, but member states need to play their parts and be forthcoming with their statistics rather than trying to save face by fudging numbers
  15. Horse meatballs then. They're actually very tasty
  16. Okay the pick wasn't in the red zone... but it was clutch
  17. I'll dig up the replay if I can. Printers had a crazy good MOP season in 2004 with BC and managed himself an NFL shot a couple years later... famously ended with the (I'm paraphrasing) 'you want me to make chicken salad but all you give me is chicken ****' line on Hard Knocks. Came back to Hamilton as the highest paid player in the league. Proceeded to stink it up and whine about it while facing much scrutiny. Limps his way back over to BC's practice roster... bides his time, Lulay gets injured... he becomes the starter... back at the top of the roster where he showed so much promise... and he chucks a pick six in the redzone OT, screams at his receiver, gets cut days later. Ended his CFL career then... he did become a backup for a season in the IFL according to the googles.
  18. Something something economy something something herd immunity something something gravlax and meatballs
  19. Ban people? No, I don't think so. Seems a bit extreme... I haven't advocated banning anyone, I've just asked people stop being so selfish or inconsiderate or dumb or whatever it is... Maybe not driving hours to neighboring communities because they have great deals on kitty litter and diapers. Is there no grocery store in Kenora large enough to support their community? (There is). Why do they have to come to Costco, considering the risk? It just doesn't seem wise to me. I think everyone should be doing everything they can do to self isolate, especially the things that cost you nothing, all you have to do is be considerate and at least think things through - is there a better way? I'm talking about reasonable things like getting gas when you're near E, not when you're passing by the station and the bays are empty. Not popping in to the grocery store a 7-11 for a snack or because you're bored and want to go for a walk, instead waiting a week til you can do a worthwhile shop. Worst are the people breaking self isolation because it's Spring and they're bored. Play some solitaire or dry hump a couch cushion, whatever it takes to be entertained, just do it at home.
  20. Yes the I pay taxes here argument will help when you're fifth in line for the only ventilator in 50 miles I ask again where is the concern for your neighbor? Everyone is sacrificing. Oh but my wasted tax dollars on my vacation property I gotta get what's mine, everything I'm owed and entitled to, even in a pandemic! Are your hypothetical wasted tax dollars more important than the health of the people in small communities?
  21. So you're sitting alone on your dock. Great, exposure limited for the moment, way to go. Did you stop for gas? Beer? Ice? Bait? Groceries you didn't already have in your fridge? You better not be sick you.... Typhoid Gary.
  22. What if (and I'm not taking sides because damn it I want a cabin) someone sick or asymptomatic BRINGS the virus to a small community and starts an outbreak that could have been avoided? Can Winnipeg support everyone West of Thunder Bay if the sparse under-equipped hospitals between here and there begin to back up? Everyone thinks the risk to themselves is so small - end of train of thought. Where is the concern for your neighbors? Not directed at any one specific person just cottagers lol
  23. Deon Beasley. He didn't have an illustrious career but he put an end to chicken **** Printers
  24. Dr Jensen seems very concerned that statistics are being padded to make the death toll appear higher than it really is. He cites to Fox News that if a patient is killed by a bus but also tests positive for COVID the cause of death is listed as COVID. He says this doesn't make sense and I agree, it doesn't. Likewise for violent crimes and gators (lookin at you, Florida). But how much of the death toll could possibly be accounted for by completely unrelated incidents? It can't be that many. If a doctor cannot make a definite diagnosis of COVID (shortages of test kits being a good reason why, a whole other issue) but "the circumstances are compelling with a reasonable degree of certainty"... then it seems reasonable to me that the death be included in the COVID statistics. Making a best effort to report the spread and impact of this disease isn't fear mongering or being alarmist, it's simply trying to show the reality of this situation. Suggesting doctors and nurses are artificially inflating these numbers for personal and financial gain is especially low on his part. Herd immunity comes at a price. Sounds like Dr Jensen is okay with approx 10% of the pop. getting seriously ill (he chuckles about 90% won't suffer more than minor symptoms) and who knows how many of them will survive (should their local health system be able to bear the strain). I'm firmly in the 'let's minimize the death toll, we can sacrifice for one another in the short term and get through this in the long run' camp. Thanks to everyone who is washing their hands and sheltering in place as much as possible. Hang in there everyone!
  25. Family photos of loved ones is media hype. We should be talking about the flu and installing roll cages on every vehicle. Well off to the lake.
