Maurice might need to purchase some luggage shortly... we've seen other coaches fired for lesser reasons...

I liked Chris because he was good natured and didn't seem to have a vendetta or bias against any team or player like some of the panel members over the years. That being said on here and ourbombers.com it was pretty unanimous that he was the worst panel member and often gave either weird or the completely obvious insights during the half time breakdowns. It would of been nice if he was kept around as a sideline reporter or doing pre-game videos interviews or something but as a panel member it was much better after he left.

https://globalnews.ca/news/4693371/mysterious-big-box-store-being-built-outside-winnipeg-perimeter-highway-near-assiniboia-downs/ It's from a few years ago but I don't believe the design/permits changed much since then.

Then explain his inability to pull the trigger the last two seasons and his frequent shrimping and taking the sack? Are you going to suggest that he was exactly the same player as he was before his injuries because the stats show before the injuries he was able to throw the ball and actually accumulate more then 250 yards passing. QBR does not factor yards thrown and a higher completion % is mainly what helps that stat. I'm not saying the guy was a coward, I'm saying he was afraid to throw the ball and afraid of getting hurt because he wasn't able to take a hit anymore.

Drew was shell shocked and played with a fraction of the talent that Matt did and by the end he was so damaged that he couldn't play at all. Why do you ignore the fact that Nichols DID play well under Lapo and did put up big numbers up until his big injury? Before he was hurt he was throwing the ball deep more often and did spread the ball around. Maybe it was possible that teams had film on Strev and his issues were part of his growing pains? How come Zach was able to walk in and immediately throw passes further then 5 yards. As I said before... watch the games live and look at the receivers... they are running routes putting their hands up trying to get Matt's attention and he rarely went through his reads and toss the ball to someone. Nearly all of his deep ball passes were were to his 1st read, and for those he was accurate. If it was all on LaPo then why was Zach able to hit that beautiful end zone TD and why didn't he dump the ball or turtle like how Matt would of. Any fan who actually watched the last two seasons could see the issue wasn't LaPo and that the issue was Nichols. If you need proof watch the Grey Cup.

I think this season will determine his fate, no more scapegoats and excuses to use if they don't make a play off run.
-
Pre injuries his accuracy wasn't an issue. Post injuries he was afraid to go through his reads and throw over 5 yards deep. It's not hard to achieve a high accuracy when you dump off 5 yard passes continually. His last two seasons he struggled greatly to throw to any of our guys in stride. He was placing them in areas that nobody could get them, it was night and day different when Zach was in the game. Guys like Bailey and Lawler were actually seeing balls come to them while in stride, Zach at least gave them a chance to make the play. And for the millionth time... it's not all on LaPolice, watch the games with our awesome o-line... Matt had time in the pocket... he had guys running routes who were open... he simply was no longer comfortable making the throws and would either dump it off to Harris or take the sack. Yes LaPo ran a gameplan that was run heavy, but it wasn't like his passing plays were all 5 yard curls to Harris. The times that I did get to see them live I watched the receivers run the routes and had their hands up trying to get Matt's attention and he just wasn't seeing anyone. I always go back to 2 seasons ago when Strev took over in the 2nd quarter and the offense went from limp to instantly alive because he took two steps back and fired a ball 15 yards down in an area where the receiver could make the play. Nichols pre injuries was a good QB, look up my old post where I showed pre injuries how he had plenty of 250 + yard passing games... post injuries it dropped considerably.
-
Well the issue he had was that he ran routes further then 5 yards so at that point unless it was a called deep play then Nichols would not go through his reads and would dump it off to Harris.

Outside of the inferior weather Canada is better in every other way. Higher quality of living, much safer, lower cost of living, health care, outside of Quebec everywhere else is friendly to all races and cultures, better football, cheaper and much higher level of education, higher quality and standards in our foods/pollution/overall health. Outside of the nice weather.. what reasons would anyone want to live in the States is the better question?

To change the subject from the guy trolling.... anyone think we miss Ben Chiarot?

He is so far off on trying to compare America's issues with police brutality and racism with Canada it's annoying when people like him are trying to create something out of nothing. Yes don't come to Canada because we had residential schools and clearly the country hasn't changed in 50-100 years when that happened. Don't come to Canada because clearly this Country has not embraced a massive amount of different cultures and places like Winnipeg never celebrate these cultures with things like Folklorama. Police brutality in Canada is so bad that amazingly relations with the First Nations is at an all time high and the amount of Police related deaths is at an all time low, but no this uneducated guy knows better because he's desperate for attention. I say we deport that guy to somewhere far away where he can experience what a truly bad country is like.

Lets focus on the one bad goal and then completely ignore the amazing save on Gallagher and the 38 other saves he made.

Oof going 9 minutes without a shot in the 3rd period that's not good.

Why do I have a feeling that we will see at the end of the season the report where Toronto was fined for going over the salary cap....

As I said before... some people cheer backyard wrestlers smashing light tubes over each other, it doesn't mean that it's popular or that the general public would like it. Marko Stunt is 5 foot 2 and 115 lbs (as per wikipedia) with zero muscle definition and zero wrestling ability... Rey Mysterio is 5 foot 6 and 170 lbs to put that in perspective. I'm suppose to believe that Marko can even inflict a slight bit of damage or even remotely stay alive for two seconds in a ring? Joey Janela looks like this: I stated the reasons why I didn't like the product and what it would take for it to change my mind and more then likely help them gain a much larger audience and possibly mainstream attention. Anyone with two eyes can see that AEW has a lonnnnnnnng way to go in getting over. To put it in perspective... TNA on Spike many years ago was pulling double the viewers that AEW currently does and that was when Austin and other big guys were still around. These days despite WWE being at it's all the time low in viewership AEW is losing viewers after it's initial launch and has failed to build any sort of audience despite adding more "stars" and having a year to work out angles and the talent.

A very small minority of people would like them. I could (can) not stand the ICP but they still have "a" following which doesn't mean that they are popular with the overall potential audience. Airing Marko Stunt and his midget frame on TV as being competitive with legit wrestlers may please one fan for every five fans that look at it and laugh and then instantly change the channel because it's a joke. It reminds me of terrible backyard wrestling that tried to be extreme and would try to do Japanese death matches. Some people (not I) would totally love watching people getting wrecked by barbed wire and light tubes.... but the vast majority of casual and even hardcore wrestling fans would not watch it. Jericho shouldn't even be employed based on his anti-COVID and pro Trump and being associated with the Capitol hill incident. Either way I tried watching AEW at a few different points and it reminds me of really bad local wrestling shows. Usually a few good spots, many bad spots and a couple of absolutely terrible spots. They really have no excuses with the money backing them on why they can't put on way better matches. I had watched TNA in the mid 2000's and they did a much better job of putting on good matches (X Division) and adding more high flying moves without going overboard. On AEW every time I watch they have some 150 - 170 pound guy trying to do be a video game type wrestler that only hits high spots (botching more then half of the time) and can't do basic wrestling moves. It gets real old watching a group of people look at each other and clump together outside the ring only for a little guy to jump over and botch his over the top rope move and everyone still selling it. And getting back to the promos and out of ring scenes.... absolutely atrocious and that's coming from someone who had to watch an old lady give birth to a hand. Everything reminds me of when I used to go to bad local wrestling shows in which their always is a dedicated fan base who goes to every show and any casual or new person watching is turned off instantly because it's laughable bad. Being a former big time wrestling fan it's clear as day that the show is being ran by the inmates and that the end result is a money mark putting on a terrible end product. No way in he** would Jim Ross script the show how it is right now. Jim Ross is happy that a money mark is dumping boat loads of money on his lawn and going along with it as long as they keep throwing money at him.

The ratings clearly show that they are catering to the small niche of fans who like that style, but if they ever want to grow then they need to do the following: Hire a real booker, Tony Khan is terrible and never let him on screen ever again. Him trying to force muscles on that Impact commercial was embarassing. The shows and the angles they use are laughable bad and so inconsistent and amateurish. Use the veterans in a realistic manner and try to come up with something new. Sting is dirt old no one thinks he can kick anyones ass anymore and the Crow gimmick grew old even back in WCW. Why can't Sting have a new gimmick and simply lead a group rather then get physically involved. They have all those old guys (Jim Ross, Arn, Tully, Jake) who could easily help them create good angles and promos and can give advice on how to piece together a solid match... yet they clearly are not listening to them. Cut at least 33% of the roster with all the crap wrestlers like Marko Stunt, Luther, Joey Janela. Their are a tonne of great indie workers looking for work that are a million times more presentable then the crap they have shown. Get Omega a promo coach, his promos suck for the North American market. With his look and ability he should of been skyrocketed to the top like a prime Shawn Micheals. This has not happened yet. Actually get everyone a promo coach, all of the promos on the show are absolutely atrocious. The promos are not funny at all and the acting is so wooden and not believable at all. What made classic WCW/ECW/WWE great in the late 90's was that they had great talent from top to bottom who could all wrestle. The stuff with Benoit, Storm, Malenko, Jericho (pre getting fat and before he was a racist), Guerrero all of their matches were must watch. They didn't simply have a bunch of tiny under sized guys doing the same flips over the top of the rope in every single match. Try to cater to a slightly older audience then 10- 14 year old boys, they don't have to go full extreme ECW but they could at least try to make it interesting for adults.

Sting has an even worse neck and is half the size of Austin and he apparently is willing to step in the ring. I wasn't thinking Austin would be a wrestler, he'd make more sense as an on air personality who can kick the **** out of some people when need to without taking any bumps. Austin on the mic is gold.... Sting/Big Show on the mic is blaaaaa
-
AEW is clearly Tony Khan trying to relive 1997 WCW memories.... Paul Wight was an attraction because he was a big tall dude... it wasn't because of his personality and promo skills. So if he's not wrestling then what's the point? Edit * It appears that he will be getting in the ring to wrestle * So not a terrible signing. Sting has to be over 60 and really the "crow" gimmick ran it's course long long time ago, he as well is a dull promo and at his old age it's not very believable that he's going to whoop someones ass. If they want to gain attention and viewers then why not throw a tonne of cash at Steve Austin, he can still cut a helluva promo and physically he's not detoriated so that at least it is plausible watching him punch out the young guys and tossing them out of a ring.

So basically you would not want to ever go to a sold out game with the Bombers where everyone is screaming at the top of their lungs minus the masks?

Don't forget minor league baseball as the Goldeyes league has a plan even with the border being closed.

Risky move with that fat contract he has, if he can recapture what he had then the Colts are set.
