It would of been nice if we had a neg list player or something slightly better. Toronto losing 4 spots late in the draft for a starter is a steal for them.
-
Lots of our guys could of bolted for more money as well... sometimes money is not everything. Maybe he's happy making less sitting on a bench instead of going to Toronto and getting absolutely mauled for a few extra bucks.
-
Lowry has 7 points so far this season... he had only 10 last season after 49 games last season.
-
*If* they were to go with Jones then they would be getting rid of Thorpe also.
-
Define unreasonable amount... maybe BC is looking at the Blue where we got great deals on some of our guys and think that they can do the same.
-
It might work for the 49ers since the price for Watson is going to be really really steep. Stafford can be had for Jimmy G + 1st rounder and maybe some other throw in.
-
I wouldn't get to excited about the early start considering we played against a rebuilding Ottawa team (a.k.a not a good team).
-
I watched the fight card.... it was very dull with exception of the Main and Co-Main event. The McGregor brand definitely will take a hit tonight. I'm not sure if the casual fans realize or not that Connor is the ultimate showman but the illusion that the UFC and his own marketing made it out as him being the best in the world is starting to fade. The guy is entertaining and very good... but he is no GSP , Khabib, Anderson (in his prime) type of fighter. At this point though he's made so much money it probably would be wise of him to stop calling out the elite and just take fun fights where he can win.

I'll defend Stafford just like Watson..... the man has produced on some absolutely awful teams and some of the absolute worst coaches and gms ever seen in the league. I'm just not sure about his health at this point so I can't see the Lions getting a huge return for him. As a 49ers fan... I'll take Stafford no questions asked.

I don't think the night life is terrible in Winnipeg, but it's more spread out in pockets around town while other big cities have a proper downtown with a large group of people in a central location. Also not every single player is an Evander Kane ding dong, even guys on our team like Laine / Ehlers were nerds and would rather play Fortnite then to go around town drinking and coking out. I don't think it's impossible for players wanting to play in Winnipeg.
-
I think a lot of people are focusing on people not wanting to sign in Winnipeg because of the city. My opinion (might be way off) it seems like the players don't want to sign because of Maurice.

Looking online of the pictures people posted of Polo Park and other malls... you'd think it's Christmas again with everyone out shopping.

Way better athelete as well and it *appears* that he is coachable unlike some of the other recent flash in the pans like Jennings. I'll give Fajardo the benefit of the doubt and will reserve final judgement until after this season on how good he can be. I think a lot of Fajardo was his awkwardness in how he extended plays and I wasn't that thrilled when he was contained in the pocket. With Adams their was a noticeable improvement last year of his pocket presence and he still has the atheletic ability to throw a good ball and to elude defenders chasing him. Nichols... well he better hope he gets a lot of protection if he plays this season, the guy can't move anymore.

Jets got absolutely hosed on that trade and way to many people trying to talk themselves into thinking it's a good deal. I wouldn't say it was as one sided as the Selanne or Evander Kane trade... but the Jets absolutely should of received at least a top 4 d-man or a real prospect on top of the 3rd round pick coming back. Potential 50 goal scorers do not come by frequently.... Bryan Little like centers are not impossible to find. I really think they could of got more for Laine. As for Roslovic leaving, not a huge loss he didnt' really have flashes of brilliance when he played with us so I don't think we will miss him.

Vernon Adams and it's not even a debate.
-
He's the best in the league at a time where the quality of players overall in the league is at it's highest. He's sustained his high level of play throughout his career while playing under multiple coaches. I'd find it hard pressed for anyone to suggest he is not the best of all time.

Sadly.... insert joke about Toronto still not being able to fill 10 - 15% of their stadium regardless of COVID =\
-
If our biggest "issue* with the club is signing Neufeld as NI depth.... this is a very good outlook for this season.

White receiver with weird hair and a frail body with our first pick

Lol 2017..... once again the facts..... IN PRESENT DAY who is making 500 k and who is in a fight to even get a starting job. Yes but I'm judging them in current day and not over a whole career. I agree that Fajardo more then likely will not eclipse Nichols when Matt was in his prime. But in present day, he sadly is a better player. At 500 k, no way I don't think he is worth that and I hope the Riders burn their salary dollars up front then for what they should of done in giving him a performance based contract.

I haven't google searched but I'm going to assume they replaced Pannizza. I tried Pannizza a year and a bit ago and it was terrible. It was a ghetto version of Za Pizza mixed with the ability to make sandwiches. I knew it wasn't going to last when the lady who served us was completely shitting on the place and the owner and how they barely are doing any business and how her hours were cut and how she's going to tell off the owner and quit on the spot soon. Lol. Bonus Point to this story: The lady didn't realize that I used to work with her when I was 15 at Mcdonalds and she was fired for stealing a box of monopoly cups, taking all the stickers and then trying to redeem them all at once at a different location which was owned by the same owner and where the owner had his head office lol. Not the sharpest person in the world.

At least Winnipeg fans haven't pissed on any cheer leaders ...

My bad on saying the Grey Cup. Also to point out I did say Fajardo does suck and is on the lower end of starting QB's in the league. It's just that Nichols is even lower then that and it's not my opinion it's fact. We crap on the Rider fans board for being completely unrealistic with what they say... yet 17to85 is even worse then the typical riderfan forum troll. Completely throws logic, facts, and actual proof out of the window and bases his opinion as being correct because he thinks it is and/or uses revisionist history. Jeeze just re-read all the game threads over the last two seasons and how many times were the people on here saying positives on Nichols compared to negatives. I'm hoping Fajardo falls flat on his face this season and will enjoy watching the Riders fizzle out and I think it's a very good possibility. But if I'm a betting man and had to put money down on Farjado vs Nichols on who wins more games.... I'm putting money on Fajardo. Without the best rb and o-line as a safety blanket, Nichols is going to have a really rough go around (that's if he even makes it on the team). Fair enough. He did still out play Matt Nichols! That healthy Matt Nichols who doesn't get hurt often
-
Yet Fajardo doesn't despite coming in as a back up and was one goal post away from taking his team to the Grey Cup despite playing behind a crap o line. Double standards. Nichols was good pre 2018... no one is denying that. But 2018 - 2019 he was very mediocre. It's ok at say when a QB is no longer good, damn Khari's last hurrah was absolutely dreadful. It doesn't take away that when he was healthy he was awesome. Also stop blaming LaPo... watch the games he called plays where receivers went mid/deep and they were open but Nichols was so scared that he locked in on Harris so many of the times. It was night and day different with Collaros who actually took his eyes off Harris and went for a 2nd and 3rd read. Strev in his first season did the same thing, his 2nd season Strev wanted to run it himself a bit to much.

I just would feel bad for someone who has to go to work 9 - 5 and then rushes home to feed their children and then only has minimal time to hit a Costco... only for the line to be 200 people deep because a bunch of bored people are just wandering around the store. During the early parts of COVID I fondly remember going to Costco and seeing really old people walking around with a giant shopping cart and like only a package of bread just because they wanted to get out and look at all of the aisles. The reason I single out old people is because when I did work retail they would come in at all times simply to look around and to chat with the employees because they were lonely.
